Elander Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Hi, I remember the time when Playmobil developed white figures to be used for paint. That was an nice idea. At the time I see lots of different very good customized LEGO minifigures around the LEGO forums. Here I think could TLG develop nice paintable minifigures and accessories. Apt for this idea could be brushes (like Games Workshop) or fineness felt pens. (For example) develops TLG the "Minifigure series". -What do you think about a new "paintable" minifigure series with paintable accessories? Or (also) could TLG develop those white minifigures generally for different themes. -Or what do you think about paintable animals, creatures or aliens? I believe those ideas could to be successful and we get fun. Quote

Hrw-Amen Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 It seems like a good idea. I think they would only need to produce the minifigures in white to be paintable? I think there was a Beanie Baby a few years back with a similar concept as well, in fact I know there was as I've got it in a box somewhere. You could use all manner of things to colour it but GW paints are pretty good and I use them a lot (Mainly on my GW figures.)I know alot of people think they are over priced but personnaly I find them the best for this sort of thing. However I am sure Lego could make its own paints as I cannot see them needing such a vast array of colours and people in the main would probably just stick to basics and not worry about blending, inks, rust and all that stuff. But generally, yes I'd like to give that a go if they made some suitable at a reasonable price. Quote
Sid Sidious Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I think these would be more popular with the kids than normal collectible minifigs are, if they came with paint/markers/art supplies. Maybe LEGO could include a minifig with Crayola or Roseart products as a promotional thing. I think purists would balk at this idea, and I would never buy one, or at least would never paint one. Tontus Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Funny you should bring this up. I'm waiting on paint to dry right now. Anyway, I had an idea a couple of days ago that ties into yours. How about a decal kit with custom software to design your own prints, precut decal sheets and "blank" minifigs. LEGO could also put out "refill" sets without the software, and maybe even in various themes. Quote
escortmad79 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Matchbox used to do it too with their Graffic Traffic sets: Used to include stickers so should keep TLG happy! Quote
