Cecilie Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 A lone samurai one her way home from a battle where she was the only survivor. Mercenary ninjas hired to kill her lurk in the shadows, but she has already sensed their presence... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The use of flowers still attached to their sprues to connect the pieces of the tree is genius. Quote
Etzel Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The use of flowers still attached to their sprues to connect the pieces of the tree is genius. Agreed, very clever! I think you've made a nice landscape too, but I would recommend some elevation to make it a bit more interesting. Good job on these female heroes you got going, looking forward to your next one. Nightshroud99 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 As other have mentioned your Sakura trees are really nice, possibly the highlight of this neat MOC. Well done Quote
Hiawatha Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I also really like your trees! you are a very creative MOCer! Quote
LuxorV Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Lovely MOC, Cecilie. I especially appreciate the use of the flowers for a true sakura feeling, and the Cavewoman head for the samurai (it's one of my favourite female LEGO heads so far). Those Ninja (I see 6 of them, btw; are there more?) ought to be careful, she does not look like someone who likes surpises Oh, and the frog, reminder of the Fabuland Edge, is another nice touch. horizon Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Nice build! How do you build such a bridge. What's the starting point? Pink flower/trees look great. The large tree as well. Quote
dragunov Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Stunning and ingenious are all I have to say about this MOC Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 This is a very pretty moc. It kind of reminds me of this old vagabond guy I know. Those trees lose their petals very quicly. You should have had some laying around on the ground for added detail. I like the flat landscape. It's a great place for a bloody showdown. So do the ninja win? Quote
Cecilie Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Thanks for the nice comments everyone . The use of flowers still attached to their sprues to connect the pieces of the tree is genius. Thank you . I have seen others use flowers still attached to their sprues, which gave me this idea for those trees. Agreed, very clever! I think you've made a nice landscape too, but I would recommend some elevation to make it a bit more interesting. Good job on these female heroes you got going, looking forward to your next one. Yes, I agree, the landscape itself is a bit boring, I would have wanted the river to be a bit sunken in, but I didn't have the necessary amount of green plates available... Oh, and the next one will be up later today, stay tuned! Lovely MOC, Cecilie. I felt the cavewoman head was a nice fit here . It's great that we're finally getting some variety in female faces in the collectible minifig series, I just wish the trend would continue into other themes... And I think 6 ninjas is correct, I can't spot anymore either . They better watch out though . Nice build! How do you build such a bridge. What's the starting point? Pink flower/trees look great. The large tree as well. The starting point in building the bridge? Well, the important thing is the curve, so I started by figuring out how to get the right curve, then I hid the construction details with tiles and railing. And then I tried desperately to attach it somehow without the whole extremely fragile thing collapsing . This is a very pretty moc. It kind of reminds me of this old vagabond guy I know. Those trees lose their petals very quicly. You should have had some laying around on the ground for added detail. I like the flat landscape. It's a great place for a bloody showdown. So do the ninja win? True, they lose their petals quickly, maybe the loose petals blew away? Or it's right before any of them fall to the ground? Or one of the ninjas collect flower petals and took them all! . If the ninjas win is up to your imagination I guess, but I'd say they're in for a rough time . The samurai is the hero in my MOC after all . Quote
Pingles Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Some MOCs have character and others look like there is a story in it just waiting to explode. Your MOC is like having to put a book down just when it's getting good! Thrilling! Nice setup! Quote
Peanuts Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Wow, the idea with the trees is brilliant. Took me a second to find out how it was done. Also, some great landscaping there. The bridge looks very nice. Lovely MOC. Quote
