Finally I got to make a video of George at The Great Western Lego Show which is our flag ship event for Brickish

The link is here

Info

George (version 2) is fully functional 5 foot 7" robot. Controlled via a PlayStation 2 controller, he can move about, rotate his upper body, move his arms / shoulders and grab on to items. His head also rotates, moves up and down and if you get too close, his eyes will rotate.

Features

1 NXT that has a PS2 Mindsensor wireless connector, hiTechnic infrared sensor and a ultra sonic sensor.

2 9v lights for mouth

1 9v old style motor which rotates eyes

6 medium PF motors which drive head (up down, left right), turns body, pneumatic switch for claws, and elbow joints for arms.

6 XL motors. 4 used to move the robot about, 1 on each arm for shoulder joint.

2 small actuators for neck

6 large actuators for shoulders

There is a nice 3-page article about "George" on Hispabrick Magazine 12, pages 19-21 (MegaUpload's SkyDrive's direct download link to the 36-MB PDF file is here). Thanks to Burf2000 (Simon Burfield) for sharing his MOC with the world!:classic:

More pictures can be found on his Flickr photoset, and videos on his

Thanks mate. I plan to do a refurb and upgrade to George to iron out the existing issues e.g Liner Actuators jamming.

That is bob, George is the one with the Spongebob eyes.

Bob was actually last years robot and can be found on here. The main body beam actually goes up and down via 5 pneumatic pistons and around 40psi!

Ok i ment Bob,so why is Bob not central to the undercarriage?

Sorry mate I was not trying to be picky, just want to give a useful answer.

If your referring to why the main beam that joins the track is not central (front to back) then this is because the main beam rises(and lowers) and would topple over if in the middle. Also there is a heavy counter weight at the bottom of the beam which would probably get in the way.

Sorry if this is wrong, my grammar is rubbish :(
