CorneliusMurdock Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 My inspiration was the Norman Rockwell painting, Freedom From Want. Despite some setbacks, lack of building time, and having to repel a small cricket invasion, I was able to complete it and photograph it before the deadline. I'm not entirely happy with the way that not everything is in focus but I think it was the best I could do with my camera and current knowledge of photography (Somehow "Digital Photography for Dummies" didn't help me all that much. Weird, because they obviously wrote it with me in mind...). Looks like I need to get some more minifig food. The table is a little more sparse than I had envisioned. We'll assume this is just the first course or they're all on diets. Comments and criticism welcome but since I already submitted it, anything I learn will be applied to future projects. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 This is lovely Cornelius! You really captured the "family-dining-together spirit" in this build, and the shot is spot-on with the reference material. Very well done! Quote
LegoSjaak Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Now thát is a piece of cheese on that table....! Nice work! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 This is a great masterpiece! I had the original picture in my english book when I was a student ...it would be fantastic replace the picture with this creation! Perfect work! Quote
RedGiant Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Super MOC! That seem to be a happy family. Quote
Hiawatha Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 This looks a lot like the real painting! You did an outstanding job creating it in Lego form . Quote

TheLegoDr Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Nice little vignette. It really captures the reference image well. If you notice the table in the image, it is a little sparse also, so no worries about you feeling your table is also sparse. I do like the cheese block for sure. Quote
ale8oneboy Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Very nice representation of the Rockwell creation. For some reason it reminds me of the Griswold Family Christmas Dinner scene from Christmas Vacation. "Save the neck for me Clark!" Quote
