Not really a review. Just sharing that I got it for $40 USD with tax at TRU. Thanks to a sale and $5 TRU bonus dollars.

I like the Sith Infiltrator but I prefer the face of the older Darth Maul.

Yeah I have the first Sith Infiltrator, from when Episode I came out. Great set.

I agree the old MAul is better. Even though the new one is more detailed I think the old one looks more 'LEGO'

I dont know if this is a common extra but my Sith Infiltrator came with two darth maul horns. I was pretty happy with that. So I could give one to my old DM.

Mine came with 2 as well.

Wow, what a great deal! I thought this set is listed at $74.99 at TRU, so at $40 after a $5 gift card, was it almost 50% off?....

Well the set was $40 after the $5 off. The set was on sale with 30% off. And I had a transformer toy that I got as a gift last june so I exchanged it toward the sith infiltrator.

Ironically, in your photos the horns seem to fit better on the old Darth Maul head than the new one (the red printing matches up better between the crown piece and the face)

In general, it seems like most of the new Darth Maul's problems could be solved if the face were wider. As it is, it seems like it was designed to match the actor without being retooled to fit the bulky, cylindrical shape inherent to LEGO minifigure heads. The end result captures Darth Maul's gaunt facial structure well, but it looks artificial, almost as though the minifigure is wearing a paper Halloween mask.

I do like how great the new Darth Maul looks when wearing a hood (can't remember how the old face looked in a hood), as well as his simpler eyes. The old one's eyes with their yellow gradient were awfully complex! I do wish there were some way of making his eyes look more like a modern minifigure's, though-- circular with a sparkle on top. I can't think of any way to do it that would truly capture his creepy, yellow-eyed stare, though. The old one came close, but also had sclerae, something I consider a bad idea on minifigures.

I think the old Maul looks better with the horns and the new one looks better with the hood, his yellow eyes really shine under the hood :sweet:

Ill agree on the heads. I think the new head looks too cartoon-ish and the old one looks way more evil, but the yellow eyes look good under the shadow of the hood.

IMO its not a bad set though and should be bought if you dont already own a Darth Maul Minifig or any of the others.
