KotZ Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I've been playing the first Assassin's Creed and I was inspired to make a little MOC around the city of Acre. Archer on rooftop, a heavy soldier, and a guard on the tower. You can notice the ledges I put in for Altair to scale. A thief to pickpocket for throwing knives. A better shot of the tower. The tower and ledge for Altair to jump off of into the hay. Altair's POV Enjoy, and comments and criticism are welcome! BS folder Quote
llb Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Cool! I love Assassins Creed - lots of great ideas for dioramas.. Quote
Zeya Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Cool. I've played all the main AC games. I just finished up the 3rd one a little while back. I like planks coming off the tower. That really feels like the game. And you've done a good job with the minifigs and their accessories. I think an improvement for this MOC would be to tile the ground a bit, if you can. You can use browns and dark bleys mainly. And for the haystack, you could maybe just make it out of 1-wide yellow plates and kind of throw them together randomly. That might look more like a haystack. If that doesn't work, maybe incorporate yellow slopes to give it more of a mound shape. Quote
Hiawatha Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Very creative and a good idea for a vintage Quote
Big Cam Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I'm a huge fan of that series. It's a great concept but I feel like the tower is not big enough, our rather tall enough. The concept is great, also the hay really looks like yellow blocks, I think scattering smaller yellow pieces would give you a better effect. Please take these just as my critiques, it's still a good MOC. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I love AC. Good build. Interesting concept. The game has a lot of features to build on. Quote
KotZ Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Thanks everybody! Zeya, I would have tiled the ground, but I have very little pieces that would look good for the tiling. I have hundreds of 1x1 studs and plates, but very few black, gray, brown, etc. I also have very few yellow cheese slopes (or cheese slopes in general for that matter ) Big Cam, same as above for the haystack. The tower, I was starting to run out of 1x2s and 1x3s for the tower. all that I had left were <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, and I was a little fearful of what people might say about that. For me, it was easier to go with a smaller tower instead of an insanely tall tower with <insert that tiresome argument> pieces and not as many outcroppings to grab on to. And don't worry, I take the comments as critiques. Even though people could say "Oh that's perfect!" does it really help? I'd rather have "You need to fix blank" so I know what to improve on. Thanks again, all! Quote
Big Cam Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Good deal. Knowing that, you did great for the limited selection of bricks. It definitely has the AC feel to it. Quote
KotZ Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Thanks, Big Cam. I may go back and try to see if I can make it taller and fix the haystack, though. Quote
