Mikey. Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Hi, Im working on a Truck with trailer to transport race cars, can someone with more experience tell me what would be a normal scale for a car when the truck (and trailer) are 12 wide and the truck has 30 x 20 wheels? im debating between 8-wide and 10-wide. I tried the 6743 set racer but it was too small. here is the truck in question: Thanks in advance! Mikey. Quote
Superkalle Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Hi Mikey A truck is typicially 2.6 meter wide and a car 1.6-1,8 meter. This equals a ratio of of approximately 1.5 (average) So if your truck is 12 wide a car should be 12/1.5 = 8 studs. Using the ratio above, if your LEGO tyre is 30 mm in outer diameter then the car tyre should be 20 mm. Double checking with reality: a truck tire is about 1 meter in diameter. Using the ratio above a car tyre should be 66 cm, which is about right for a normal sized family car. Quote
