Hinckley Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Well, we've already got Patrick piloting a Jedi starfighter... Sorry I didn't spell it out in finite detail. Since StoutFiles was asking if a pirate MOC where the pirates were simply holding lightsabres constitutes a SW MOC, I chose a different end of the spectrum because it seemed more humorous to me. But, since you want to be so literal, let's take even more fun out of it by having to explain the sentiment past the little joke I made. The MOC you are referencing has Patrick the Jedi in a ship that is clearly a Jedi Starfighter with a different color scheme just like the Jedi in the canon have. It's clever, it's funny, it's fanon and it is a Star Wars MOC, very clearly. Whee! Aren't we having fun dissecting this topic until the fun is practically choked out of it? Hooray. Quote
Rook Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 In a universe of endless possibilities let’s just look at few samples. Organic and Animalistic Angles & Curves Flying Boat Liquid and sleek Rugged and small winged Flying briefcase Resembling Earth Aircraft Unusually Unexplainable Classic UFO with upgrades So what is “Star Warsy”? StoutFiles Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Ha. I enjoyed that ship. IMO, that's fine, the center piece was the Jedi starfighter, it didn't matter who flew it. My beef is with everything being fanon to the point it's not Star Wars anymore, even if the ship is very well imagined and constructed. SW forum, SW stuff. However, the mods have given their stance on it so I'll respect that. Quote
Hollander Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Than what's the difference between sci-fi and SW? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Than what's the difference between sci-fi and SW? Nothing. Star Wars is Sci-Fi. It's just a more specific type of sci-fi. To me, the Star Warsy feel is rugged, angled, worn, used, and grey. But that's the OT fan's opinion. Quote
