Robert M Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Surely you have more Lego than that? Oh, and hows the Flatbed tow truck coming along? You've been busy with the 9397 crane, so i suspect little, I may be wrong. Quote

If rebrickable counts correct i have more than 40 thousand parts. Quote Oh, and hows the Flatbed tow truck coming along? You've been busy with the 9397 crane, so i suspect little, I may be wrong. currently my focus is on the 9397 rc mod Edited February 12, 2012 by efferman Quote
Robert M Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Fair be it, and pictures at the moment? Are you just modding it for RC, or rebuilding the whole model completely to fit everything in easier? Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 9397 is in fact big enough to make it RC, but it will be a completely overhaul to eliminate all the optical bugs. for pictures it is too early. when the bonnet is finished it will give the first pictures. Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 thanks! i have finished the bonnet 101_9153 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
timslegos Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I live the bonnet, it looks like a classic American truck. tim Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 thanks what is your opinion about the shape of the cab (not finished)? Quote
Milan Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Perfect! I like that there are not visible gapes. Shape is great. Quote
Robert M Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Cab is fine, just one question, why are you building from the outside in? Surely it would be better to build the internals first, so you know you can fit everything in. Not saying it's wrong, not doubting it, just wonder why you've chosen this way. Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 well, it is easier to build a chassis for a finished shape, than make a shape for a existing chassis. the internals are mostly the smallest problem. Quote
timslegos Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I love the cab! You have managed to use studdless without looking "holey". tim Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Looks great,i am not sure about those front mudgards. Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 whats wrong with the mudguards? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 In the picture you posted, the front of the mudgards look too flat,(not round enough). Quote
efferman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 101_9158 von efferman auf Flickr better now? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Not really it needs to be the same as the back of it. Quote
Robert M Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 If you'r talking about the shape of the circle, I'd say you've pretty much cracked it. The mudguards on trucks when you type in Logging trucks show that they are not full round, they more like egg shaped, and only have a portion of the full oval. If your talking about the back, as in back of the truck, then I don't think it has been built yet so can't be compared. On the whole, I'm not sure I know what you mean, so don't count this as anything. Quote
efferman Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 i have built a new grapple for the crane. the original is me too wide so i shrinked it from 6 to 5 studs width. 101_9164 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) I think the grab should be 3 stud's wide,if you look in the picture i posted above you can see a good grab. Edited February 14, 2012 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Firky Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Thats a nice grapple you have there. I have just start a thread on on Grippers / Claw / Grapples your input would be hugely appreciated. Firky Quote
