Do you think TLG will eventually release a CC and MS with interiors? Frankly, I'm so annoyed with the ridiculous prices online right now that I would buy some china clone brick that resembles the modulars if it exists. I've actually seen clone bricks that are exactly like the Creator house series and it looks pretty much the same.

I don't know if there will ever be a Cafe Corner or Market Street with an interior as a set. It really depends on whether TLG wants to re-release those sets at all. And if they do choose to re-release them, it comes down to whether they'd rather fix what many considered a flaw in the first release, and risk people feeling the re-release is inauthentic, or release the sets as they originally appeared, and risk the re-release being seen as unimaginative or redundant.

In the meantime, adding an interior to those sets is fair game to MOCists. I once tried to create an interior to the Cafe Corner on LDD, since I didn't have the pieces in real life. Unfortunately, some of its building techniques aren't very friendly on LDD, so I never was able to finish that project. My twin brother had marginally more success with the Market Street, turning the lower floor of the blue building into a bakery.

I don't think it's very likely. Despite the many people that want interiors for these, I think there are far more that would prefer a completely new modular building. They might redo them in the future if they start to run out of ideas, but I think they've still got plenty of good ideas for more new sets.

I don't think they'll ever release them. And actually I think everyone would rather they put out new ones rather than rehashing old sets...

Cafe Corner is pretty prohibitive to either buy or even piece together - too many of the bricks used are currently out of use so I've had a look into it and made the decision to neither buy it or piece it tgoether from PaB/bricklink...

Market Street on the other hand - with a few substitutions (buying 3 1x4 flat bricks for the no longer available sand blue 1x4 bricks, and colour changes from white to black balconies) I put one together for about £120. And you may not even want to tdo the garage on the side as it doesn't add much, so you'll be able to get the 16 wide building pieced for under £100.

I think there is a business opportunity here for an enterprising Bricklink-er. I know that all the colors are not available for either the CC or MS, but I believe there are numerous people who would like to have these sets, even if the colors are not exact but with good color substitutions.

What I’m thinking is for some Bricklink-er to get commitments for several CC or MS, then collect all the parts and sell them as a package, at a reasonable price.

I believe the most difficult part about collecting all the parts for the sets is finding all the parts from multiple sources and then the extra minimum buys and shipping costs. But if the seller had orders for several sets then the minimum buy and shipping costs would be amortized thus making the sets a little more affordable.

I put my CC together (using some color substitutions) but it cost me about $300, I think I could have done it for less. I believe it could be made and a profit to be had an sell the parts kits for $250 or so, maybe less.

Just a thought,

I'm curious, what color(s) did you exchange? Any pics?

I'd really like them to re-release the Green Grocer. I came so close to buying it on a few occasions, but never did. Today I bought my first modular of the series, the Grand Emporium. I always found MS to be kinda "meh" in the series, and CC isn't my favourite. I hope they keep the series going for years to come. Of the modulars, I'd probably rate them:

1) Green Grocer

2) Grand Emporium

3) Cafe Corner

4) Pet Shop

5) Fire Brigade

6) Market Street.

I'd never pay over MSRP for one of these sets. My next one will probably be the Pet Shop.

At the time I did my CC, the only thing I had to substitute was using red instead of dark red as there were just not enough dark red roof tile pieces.
