Gareth Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Hi! I was looking through my old Lego town sets and I came across this one that I had forgotten about, its the 1981 set '6628 Shell tow truck'. Now I like this set because it was one of the first sets I had when I was little and I ended up having three of them for some reason, but the set is perfect a perfect size for a mini figure except it doesn't come with one when all the other sets from that period did. I am wondering if any one can shed some light on this or knows why? Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 My guess would be for it to be an add on set for 6610..... In all truth we might never know the real reason why there isn't a minifig in this set since it was released 30 years ago. Quote
L@go Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 My guess would be for it to be an add on set for 6610... Funny you should say that! As a kid, I owned both (well, still do, but they're back at my parents' place) and that's exactly how I treated them. I would always put the fuel pump attendant in the tow truck. Quote
Gareth Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Ah yes, I only found out about set 6610 last year, I never knew it existed but it would make sense. Maybe it was possible the tow truck was a supplement for an already existing set like 6610 or even the older 377 petrol station. Quote
