SavaTheAggie Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Gallery My MOC inspired by the Texas State Railroad's Palestine Depot. Along with its' locomotives, the two depots on either end of the Texas State Railroad - one in Palestine, the other in Rusk, are memorable in their own right. For me, I find the Palestine Depot to be more beautiful. It differs in some significant ways from the original: for example I chose not to build the partially attached gift shop, which causes the roof to become a hollow triangle. There are many other subtle and not so subtle differences, but I believe I've been able to capture the overall spirit of the building. --Tony Quote
Cale Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Well done Tony. The whole scene looks fantastic. The water tower and the interior detail on the station I think came out exceptionally well. This is going to look awesome with the engine shed added. I'm very much looking forward to seeing this at Brickworld next year. Cale Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 As always your MOC's are just wonderful ! Beautiful trees and nice water tower too......Brick On ! Quote
AussieJimbo Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Great job, Sava. I knew this would be good when I saw your LDD draft and it looks even better in the brick. Superb MOC as usual. :classic: Edited September 24, 2011 by AussieJimbo Quote
Man with a hat Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Awesome. I first thought: I have seen this before... Then I checked and saw you already showed us your LDD MOC in another topic. Great that you really built it now. And I must say that I like the brick built one a lot better. Especially since you did some extra work on additional trees and the water tower. Quote
harnbak Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Amazing - high standard as always... Edited September 23, 2011 by harnbak Quote
L@go Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Let me just chime in with the others - this is really great. The design is clean and neat, and the water tower is brilliant - for some reason, the part with the brown doors on the water tower annex is my favourite. That, and the toilet :) The whole thing is wonderful - but then again, I didn't expect anything less! Quote
22kane Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 That is just awesome! I haven't seen many stations this good in all my travels on the web. Outstanding build!! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Another outstanding MOC Tony!!! The landscape is amazing with that incredible round tower and giant trees! This station looks like a peacefull place with a lot of fantastic details. I like the way you realize complex details like doors or diagonal (and curve) sections with neat solutions! The architecture of the station fits perfectly with your large locomotives collection! In few words: you are a genius! Quote
Trent Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I think the water tower is the best that I've seen in a long time. Brilliant. Quote

I'm glad I did as well, I don't think I'd be as proud of it as I am had I not gone the extra mile. I'm going to order the ME-Model rails for my engine shed today. Right now Brickworld is looking very possible, so knock on wood I'll be there. As always your MOC's are just wonderful ! Beautiful trees and nice water tower too......Brick On ! Great job, Sava. Especially since you did some extra work on additional trees and the water tower. Thanks! I was always going to do the water tower, but given its round nature I didn't want to attempt it in LDraw. Trying to arrange all those odd-angled bricks made my head hurt. Amazing - high standard as always... Thanks much! Let me just chime in with the others - this is really great. The doors on the water tower annex were a pain, they made me have to change the design of few times to accommodate them. I had to go back and edit the lower door once, which required me to open up the tower quite a bit. That is just awesome! I haven't seen many stations this good in all my travels on the web.
