I've never posted a WIP before, but I'm pretty excited about the design of Cody (and, subsequently, Rex) that I wanted to post this and see what you all think! The finished scene will be Cody and Rex shooting the crap out of some Battle Droids. Rex is half-way finished. If you can't tell, these guys will be wearing Phase II armor. Any and all suggestions/ideas (especially with the helmet) are welcome. :classic:

Okay, here's rex! I'm pretty happy with how he looks.

BUT, because this is a work in progress, I'm open to ideas, especially in regards to his pauldron.

I think this will be my last WIP post until I finish the moc. Thanks to some of your suggestions, and suggestions over on Flickr, I changed Rex's pauldron design and helmet design (as well as Cody's helmet).

This is also the first time I've used custom stickers in a build. Thanks to Brickdoctor for the minifig arms-as-rebreathers idea.

That looks amazing. Cody is my favorite clone, and he is done so well. I just wish I had the orange pieces to make him. He looks more PT than CW if your making him and Rex.

Great job

Thanks! Cody is my favorite clone as well. I'm actually trying to combine the PT and CW look in one (check out Sideshow Collectibles Cody on Rebelscum.com), so, hopefully, he doesn't look TOO weird.

Looking good! Cody's helmet is very recognizable, no easy feat at this scale, and you've got the orange highlights down just about perfectly. Looking forward to Rex!

Thanks, Doc! My biggest challenge with these figs is getting the face/head to look like the "real" thing. I've been wanting to build Stormtroopers and Clones at this scale for a while, but just couldn't come up with a design I was happy with. the helmet is literally months in the making, and to hear that it's "recognizable" makes me REALLY happy! :sweet:

Wow, another impressive 'Mood-land-scaled fig! You really captured the overall look of Cody, only minor thing I noticed is should his helmet antenna be a bit higher (move 1 stud up)? Anyway, great job as always and looking forward to seeing Rex!

Great job on Cody, easily recognizable. I am looking forward to seeing Rex, though I think it would be better to see him in phase 1 armor.

Thanks! His phase I helmet has the antenna higher than his phase II helmet. I moved it up anyway and it looks better.

Hello!

Those are really amazing. With all those functional elements, their battle armor comes very close to the original. I appreciate your successful efforts to create a fully functional figure out of bricks, and these would be an eyecatcher in every miniland-scaled exhibition. :classic:

Cheers,

~ Christopher

Thanks so much for that comment, Christopher! It's nice to hear that someone actually appreciates what I'm trying to do at this scale Functionality/playabilty-wise with these.
