@l3x Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) This is a modern rendition of 8596 Takanuva. It is built with Technic, Bionicle, and Hero Factory parts. Unfortunately I misplaced the original spear blade but you get the idea He's a little larger than the original, but he still looks pretty good on the vehicle.... Any comments would be appreciated! The Mugbearer Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Wow! Incredible re-make, I love it so much! However, you need to do something with forearm plates. They are a bit bigger then it needs IMO. Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Oh. Wow! He looks pretty awesome. But I think that he has got too much grey parts. But that's only my opinion. He really suits to his Ussanui. Good job :P Quote
BRiAn Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 If those grey parts and red balls could be in black, that would be nice and those forearms would look way better if they're in size 3 instead of 5 but overall, great looking MOC especially when he's on his vehicle. Quote
ZORK64 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Looks neat! I like what you've done with his shoulders. Though his hip area looks odd, maybe it's just because of the colours. Aside from that, good job! Quote
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 The hips are a bit odd. Maybe it works better with a Hero 2.0 torso rather than a customized torso. Quote
Tanma Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 This is great, I cam recognize it as Takanuvs attired glance. It's a nice blend of three worlds; yet it still has all the features of the original. My only issue with this is the bright red connectors, they are kind of an eyesore. I would suggest using black versions, but that is just me. Either way this is one great creation. Quote
@l3x Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Thanks for the feedback everyone. I would have liked ideally for all the gray in the torso to be white and for the ball joints to be black, but I was just using parts I have on hand. Articulation was a main concern for me, hence the custom torso with a ball-jointed midsection. That being said, I would like to come back to this project eventually in the right colors, and maybe even recreate his vehicle in Hero Factory style.... Quote
Toa Mark Surge Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Wow, no seriously, wow! I never thought I'd say this, but forget the 2.0 Heroes and sell this! It is amazing and a great recreation of one of my favorite sets! Well done, really, well done :) Edited October 3, 2011 by Toa Mark Surge Quote
Starparu Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Outside of the grey and red, and the slightly awkward hip/abdomen section, I really like this. It's a good combination of modern and older pieces to make something new and creative. -Star Quote
