Legostein Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Hello everybody! Along my mission to provide Star Wars models out of non-Star-Wars-sets to the community, I'd like to present another little model to you. It's built out of the Tiny Turbos Set 8302 - "Rod Rider" of the Racers series. It's available new for only 5.99 EUR / 4.99 GBP / 5.99 USD. With almost all of the 48 pieces conatained in this set you can build a mini version of Zam Wesell's airspeeder from the Coruscant chase in Episode II - Attack of the Clones. It might be a bit bulky, but I hope you'll recognise it. >>> Click here for building instructions <<< That's it for today! Have a happy ending of the week! ~ Christopher Quote
Professor Trelawney Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Haha, how amusing, I do love your MOC's. Great little Airspeeder! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Pretty cool as always Legostien! You've done a good job recreating it. Quote
M<0><0<DSWIM Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 This is really cool and pretty accurate! I love the parts usage for the cockpit and back air foils. Quote
Oky Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 It's not your best alternate build, but it's still pretty good and instantly recognizable. Nice work. Quote
Mr Man Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 It's really quite good Legostein. It's not your best alternative build but its still quite good. Quote
Legostein Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 Hello everybody! Thank you for the nice comments! How realistic a model turns out depends strongly on the variety of parts available, and this set has less than 50 which are focused on car building. I still find it astounding that it was possible at all to turn this racer into an airspeeder at all. After all, I just bought the set because of its colour. I walked into the store, saw it's lime green and thought "... it's lime green, let's try a Zam airspeeder out of that..." Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 You have one it again 'Legostein' another AWESOME micro-creation and out of those parts too ! May the Eurobrick be with you always ! Quote
Big Cam Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 That's awesome that all the parts you need are in one cheap set. Another great looking mini LegoStein! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 The ingenuity of your alternate models never ceases to amaze me. I'm not quite sure about those curved mudguard trailing pieces, but it's not like you have any others to use there. Quote
Legostein Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Thank you for the comments! [...] all the parts you need are in one cheap set [...] [...] but it's not like you have any others to use there [...] That is exactly the crux of the matter. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Ras 74 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 You are awesome as usual to rebuild other sets into SW ones Legostein. This is one of my favorite speeders. Quote
