cotton Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I just finished my mockup of this mashup. The parts are already on order and I am pretty excited about it. 7239 is a great firetruck IMHO so I was interested in modding it. The 7239 part is unmodded, just the ladder section is removed and the trailer is made from the firetruck in 7945. Whatcha guys think? I also have another 7239 that I am going to mod also to make it a crew cab instead of the doors on the side. Quote

It's an interesting combination and has the look of an American tiller truck, but I think it would look far better if both the tractor and the trailer wouldn't have double rear axles. I also think you need to create some more space between the cab and the trailer. This doesn't look as though it can corner. Cheers, Ralph Quote
bootz Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Great fire truck! I've been trying to do a similar mod to my firetruck and this really inspired me. Quote
cotton Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Just got my bricks and its 99% complete, just missing some flat tiles but thats no issue. The truck is not modded at all so the original ladder section can be removed and added as you wish. Cheers, Ralph You were right it didnt corner too well so I moved it all a stud back. Later tonight I am going to mod the trailer section so it only includes 1 axle and see how that works. I want to try to keep the front as stock as possible. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Interesting seeing it in brick, I would remove from behind the tool boxes one set of wheels and shift forward one stud the other set of wheels so it appears to take the weight of the turning mechanism. Brick On 'cotton' ! Quote

It's nice to see it in the brick and I'm curious to see how it will look with just one rear axle. I still don't really like the dual rear axles on the trailer, but there are tiller trucks that have those. Cheers, Ralph Quote
