When you view the Brickipedia page about the minifigure of Argus Filch, you will find a picture of him taken at the 2010 toy fair. This picture shows his hair in a brown color that I first saw used in the LEGO harry Potter video game as Penelope Clearwater's hair. I'm a guy with long hair and that hair piece looks just like my hair unintentionally. What I really want to know is if I can buy that exact lego piece and where to go to get it. And on a similar topic, is there a website where I can browse through out every single lego minifigure piece and accessory and buy the pieces I want. Also, I would appreciate it if someone could show me some instructions on how to make a lego version of the bit bike from Mario Kart Wii. Any info you can give me will be a big help.

You can always start by trying Lego.com - specifically the "Pick A Brick" section (just type that into the search bar). For harder-to-locate or discontinued items, try bricklink.com to buy pieces, minifigs, sets, instructions, etc. Unfortunately, neither of those will help you for the hair you are trying to find - for Lego has not put it into a production set yet. As for the Mario Kart Wii instructions, I fear I cannot help you there either - I'm not Mario-savvy and wouldn't know a bit bike if it bit me! :classic: Best of luck in your Lego endeavors!

Your best bet is to:

  • provide a picture for the forum if you expect an answer
  • Ideally, look for the exact kit that has the part in the colour you want
  • Download the instructions for that kit either through Lego directly, or links on Brickset.com or Peeron.com
  • If the set was from the last 7 years or so, they will have a "bill of materials" near the back of the instructions...look for the specific code and the Element ID below it
  • Call Lego Direct by phone to order (they will also help you find the part if you want)

A thing to note with Lego Direct, if the part you want only appeared in a Harry Potter set, or other licensed set (e.g. Star Wars, Cars, etc), you will need to provide Proof of purchase of the licensed set before they will send you the part.

Good luck.
