Sariel Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Time to spread some communism! ;) Photos & reading: http://sariel.pl/2011/09/t-72m/ Video: наслаждайтесь, товарищи! Quote
DLuders Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Wow, this T-72 (your thirteenth Lego Technic tank) is fantastic! Request that you feature one of the "Baker's Dozen" tanks in your upcoming book to be published by No Starch Press! Edited September 11, 2011 by DLuders Quote
Nazgarot Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 best looking tank I've ever seen! And nice functionality as well. Great work! Quote
dikkie klijn Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Absolutely love the picture with the big T-72M logo, same angle as the tank . Quote
Ralph_S Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 The functionality is impressive and you've presented it very well -as usual . I also like the shaping of the turret. However, it is let down by the proportions. The hull looks at least a brick too tall to me. It looks like a T-72 on steroids. Cheers, Ralph Quote
timslegos Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Another phenomenal creation Sariel!! I didnt know they even make that curved smooth piece used for the turret!! tim Quote

grohl Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 It is nice to see a small creation with pretty many functions and details. On exbition the bigger the better, but not here. It is always harder to make a working MOC which is that small. Quote
Sokratesz Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Why do you call them inferior to other tanks? As far as I know the number of MBT confrontations that was anticipated during the cold war turned out to be a deceptively low number ;) - Sok. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I really hate you Sariel, you are too good at building tanks! Quote

As far as I know the number of MBT confrontations that was anticipated during the cold war turned out to be a deceptively low number ;) I don't exactly call them inferior, I'm saying they were designed with focus on quantity over quality and that in result they usually lose 1:1 fights against Western tanks. Check the results of Egyptian T-72s fighting Israeli Merkavas. The 72s got pretty much turned to shreds. That doesn't mean these are bad tanks, they were simply built to follow a specific war doctrine. Quote
Scorpion Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Simply. F***in'. Amazing. How the hell did you make the cannon elevation system? Amazing. This goes on my Facebook! Quote
Sariel Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Simply. F***in'. Amazing. How the hell did you make the cannon elevation system? Amazing. This goes on my Facebook! It's just a micromotor with a single small linear actuator. You can actually see it in the video, and if you need a better look, feel free to visit my website and check the photos. Quote
