Badsneaker Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) I've been following the Cuusoo site for a while looking at all the new and popular builds but I have to say this could really be a hit, LEGO could easily do a theme with at least a dozen or so different sets. I love the open back to the buildings. I think it would appeal to the AFOLS as well as the younger kids. Throw a couple of bandits and bank robbers in there and you have a hit. The smaller sizes and less pieces would make for an easier build for kids but the details are satisfying for us guys and gals. Keep the prices reasonable too. There are lots of cool ideas on the CUUSOO site but I haven't really seen anything LEGO could make a theme from. I urge everyone here to spread the word outside of the LEGO community. Share it on your Facebook and get your friends to sign up. I'm sure plenty of our friends today have fond memories of the Old West LEGO themes when they were kids. Last time I checked it was to almost 2000 so lets spread it a wildfire! Edited February 7, 2012 by Badsneaker Quote
The Legonater Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Man, that's incredible. Is there any way I can get instructions for the LEGO Piano? Quote
Cale Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I put this up on the RAILBRICKS blog as well. This is indeed a worthy project. I would love to see this get the 10,000 votes it needs. http://railbricks.com/blog/ Cale Quote
autobrick Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) I voted, did you? Vote! Excellent MOC, marshal_banana! This is by far more worthy of a set than Minecraft. I think it's a great game, but I can't see how great the set could be; building blocks for a building game? Out of the top 10 at Cuusoo, I think this has the most potential. As much as I would like to see licences they have on there (Back to the Future, Zelda, etc), I doubt Lego would bother getting the licence for a single one-off set, but who knows? WesternOutlaw Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I put this up on the RAILBRICKS blog as well. This is indeed a worthy project. I would love to see this get the 10,000 votes it needs. You guys are fantastic Cale! Quote
P4trickvH Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Realy impressed with the detail on all the buildings and the attributes. It got my support. Quote
jamie75 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 WOW!! I check this when I see it yesterday and there were about 1600 votes! Now there are 2200+. Way to go!! At this rate we should be at 10,000 by the end of the week? Anyways, aside from the Bank, Sheriffs Office, Saloon, and Gunsmith. A Train Station should be added to the theme, in time. As well as a ranch of sorts, with animals, other then horses. A Post Office and a old west church. Can't wait for this theme to be added!! Jamie Quote
jonwil Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Supported this. Can't see LEGO putting out a set with a Saloon in it though (but I am sure if this gets to the review phase LEGO will deal with that problem) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 The Force is Strong with this one... The Rebel Bloggers of the EB Star Wars Forum Blog are showing our support to our fellow SW aficionado marshal_banana on this quest. Now let’s all show the true power of our fully operational AFOL community! Quote
jonwil Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Btw, if this is ever made into sets, I think a western style train would be perfect. It could be a set with the coolness and detail level of the Emerald Night but with a locomotive and car that match what would have been seen in the old west (or what is seen in all the cowboy films) Quote
Diggydoes Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 This is one stunning MOC, i would love to have a Western-Town on my shelf! I´ve registered at cuusoo just to support this project (ah yeah, and of course i´ve supported Marhall´s Sandcrawler too)! Marhsall you´re one of the few who really deserves it to have your own set produced by TLG! Quote
Bernd Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 It's outstanding. I can't tell which building I like best (gladly I don't have to). I love that wooden structure, the detailed furniture and especially the sallon's. Quote
Cunctator Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 What a masterpiece! I supported you on Cuusoo Quote
brickcitydepot Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I cast my vote and put it up on my website to help spread the word. www.brickcitydepot.com Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 WOW! This work is awesome ...the building technique is incredible and the final result is totally cool! The inner details and the furnitures are lovely! Thanks for sharing! Quote
Miss Kyle Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I just voted for this on Cuusoo, best of luck! It's such a wonderful design. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 7, 2012 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 7, 2012 And we reached 2500 votes. Let's now do this number x4 and we're there! Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Amazing MOC! Got a CUUSOO profile just for this! We're now at 2577 supporters! Quote
alex54 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I voted for it on CUSSOO. What a really nice MOC! Everything looks terrible in this creation : how the fronts are made, the colors, the size, the interiors with all those nice details! Great work MB! Quote
sonicstarlight Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I was a huge fan when I first saw this, and am absolutely willing to help out in this worthy CUUSOO cause! I've blogged this (again) on Brick Town Talk Quote
jonwil Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 And now TLC says "It's exciting to see everyone rallying behind this project! We'll have a comment up shortly, I know it is in the works. Good luck!" Quote
Badsneaker Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 The more I look at the pics, it just becomes so much more stunning and clever. I thought to myself well maybe I'll just make one of my own but I want it to look like this and I can't even figure out half of the techniques used here! Where are you marshall? You should be working for LEGO.... Quote
Vindicare Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Good luck with this MB! I signed up because of your town. I've got a question about CUUSOO. When a set gets picked and released, does the creator get anything? A royalty? A plaque/certificate? Quote
Rijkvv Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Here you can read an 1% royalty is given. Quote
