Jareth Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 So, I encourage other people to get into lego. Not just anyone random, but I've Gotten one firend to buy a set and now I'm encouraging his own MOC ideas with some instruction books and a tutorial on bricklink. I also have some friends who have daughters about the right age for duplo. So when I find clearacnce sets or grab bags I buy them. Does anyone else encourage the lego habbit in others? Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Every damn day! It's just what I do. I don't go out of my way to buy gifts for people though, but I think it's fair to say that I encourage people to 'get' LEGO products! Quote
Pingles Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Any chance I get I applaud the creative side of Lego to friends and family. Not just for selfish reasons but because I have seen the way my three-year-old daughter latch onto the building/pretending side of the toy. Every day she asks if I want to play with "Daddy's Lego". And every day I do. Quote
brickmack Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Definitely an enabler, I've even given small MOCs as birthday and christmas presents to friends in the hope they get some sets. I must admit though, in the back of my mind I'm hoping they decide they don't like LEGO (after they get a few sets) and let me have them free or cheaply . Quote
vexorian Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 That wouldn't be a LEGO enabler, that would be a LEGO dealer. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well count me as one too, I MOC build to inspire others to push the limits of imagination....you only need to see my town to know what I'm talking about. Seeing children blown away with what I and other AFOLs can do with Lego is what spurs me on and on ! Brick On Inspire On ! Quote
Soulgem Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I try. I got my entire team of colleagues - roughly 20 people - to build Lego on our last company gathering. Not sure any of them got back into Lego, but who knows. I can recommend giving Lego as gifts, because honestly: everyone loves Lego. They will appreciate it, and the gift may spark a dormant interest. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I love when other others want to build Lego. I bought a set from an oversea seller who shipped it in a Lego bucket. Now instead of a cooler, I use that bucket as my traveling bar whenever I go to a house party or a friends house. Every time someone who doesn't recognize it as my bar gets real excited and always say "Awesome you brought Lego(s), let's build some sh*t" or "every time I see that box, I want to build them". I did get one friend to get out all his old Lego. He hasn't bought any new yet but, has built some MOCs and I am sure he will buy his son Lego when he is of age Quote
