yoraish Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Sounds interesting. I think I'm going on a 8x8 unimog They don't mean it must be a real model right? Edited September 2, 2011 by yoraish Quote
Razvy_cluj_ro Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Perfect. I build a chassis good for this theme . But I have a question: it must be a real model? It may not be a prototype for example? Because I built a different kind of suspension, which does not exist in any real model... Said must be an ,,own version" Sorry foar my english ... dikkie klijn Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Looks interesting, have an idea already, lets see if I can make it work . Quote
DLuders Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 (edited) TheHoytPowerHawk posted this of his Lego Technic Unimog that he's entering into the September 2011 Lego Technic Challenge. He wrote that "You can see seven Power Functions in the model: * 1 turning the arm 360 degrees * 1 raising it with a linear actuator * 1 controlling the claw * 1 steering the backside wheels * 1 controlling the outriggers * 2 XL motors powering the front wheels with a differential and the V8 engine. There are also 2 Power Functions lights built in." Edited September 17, 2011 by DLuders Quote
Razvy_cluj_ro Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Why I don't post my Unimog at the contest? :(( I respect ALL rules, but when I submit , the site say : ,,page not found ; Plese respond to me in a short time " . Why??? May be because of the modified photo? or because the site? Plese very very much to respond , until 23:50 PM , CET P.S. Soryy for my english ... Quote
GuiliuG Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 What a strange Unimog ! Does a similar unimog with rear directionnal wheels exist in real life? Quote
efferman Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 all wheel steering is an original option and available for every U400 Quote
radar92 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 This was my entry, based off the UT-90 concept. I used the U20 cab design IR drive, PTO, 1 aux connection Compressor 8110 compatible attachment points (they sit 2 bricks lower then 8110) Bed dump (but not with the winch attached) uses LA driven by PTO drive train needs a bit of work still Quote
Lucas Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) This is my creation for Technic Challenge. The official description for content: "New special tracked version of Unimog for the hardest tasks where wheels cannot stand. Presented with excavator (rear) and front-loader (front) attachments. Remote controlled model with 4 motors: left/right track, back PTO (turntable) and pneumatic compressor with front/rear switch in the cabin." I wanted to make a compact model so there was limited space. I managed to build-in 4 remote controlled M motor (with functions described above), battery box and front/rear pneumatic switch. It has 5 pneumatic functions. Front bumper must be removed to attach front attachment. I will post more pictures later. Edited September 18, 2011 by Lucas Quote
timslegos Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Cant wait to see more!! Don't forget to take lots of detailed pictures! tim Quote
vmln8r Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 This mining version of the Unimog is remote-controlled, and features all-wheel drive and suspension. It has a bright colour scheme for high visibility and a plough to clear away minerals. Click here to see more pictures. Click here too see a very rough video. Quote

bord4kop Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I see some quite marvelous models here! But is it allowed to post one 's creation before the final 10 submissions, or winner are announced? Quote
Nazgarot Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I see some quite marvelous models here! But is it allowed to post one 's creation before the final 10 submissions, or winner are announced? It is, but it might not be the smartest ting to post pics with the logo before the competition enters it's final phase. If more than one user sends in the same pic it will be removed from the competition if I understand the rules right... -ED- Quote

Lucas Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Very nice creation!! I have never seen something like this before and it is perfectly executed!! Would you mind sharing what the functions are exactly? Or post a video? tim Thank you Tim, I have no time to make a video rigth now (I'm leaving to Rome, Italy tonight. I'll be without net, so I won't know if my creation is in 10 finalists) I thought that functions are clear from pictures and description but I'll try to summarise it: - Motion and steer: 2 M motor, one for each track (remote controlled) - Rotation of excavator attachment: 1 M motor (remote controlled) - Pneumatic compressor: 1 M motor (remote controlled) - Switching pneumatic power between front and rear attachment (similar to official 8110 Unimog) from cabin - 3 pneumatic function on rear attachment (excavator): 2 for controlling arm and 1 for controlling digger - 2 pneumatic function on front attachment (front loader): 1 for lifting and 1 for tilting of dipper Lucas Quote
