gambort Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 I hope it's acceptable to bump this thread to remind everyone that there is only one month left on this contest. There was a lot of interest here but so far not many entries. I'm hoping to see that remedied ;) Tim Quote
kyphur Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm just waiting for the ultra rare green train windows to arrive so I can make a good photo set of all 3 versions of my Transfer Caboose and then the pictorial comic portion for my official entry. I'm also trying to get a third entry done in time, hint: it's a Cargo Crane that is sized to handle Maersk Containers. I just don't know if I'll have it ready in time Quote
Legoist Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Kinda breaks my heart that those books are a thing of the past. Me too... and the 7777 has always been my favourite Idea Book ever. But today we have the Railbricks magazine, which you should definitely check out in case you haven't yet. Quote
gambort Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 ^^ Excellent to hear :) Concrete Rail Bridge by gambort, on Flickr And there's another example entry from me. Tim Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 ^^ Excellent to hear :) Concrete Rail Bridge by gambort, on Flickr And there's another example entry from me. Tim Very nice bridge, it looks amazing! Quote
kyphur Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Gambort, I have a problem... As you know I've already entered my Hand Car into the 7777 Redux Contest. This weekend I should be finishing-up entry number 2, the Transfer Caboose (with complete instructions for 3 different roofs). So far so good right? Well, I have this nice Truss Bridge that I designed for my Massive Layout and I want to enter it: But then as a companion piece for my Layout I also designed this "modular" Train Tunnel and as I think about it I must say I think it would make a nice addition to the 7777 Redux Contest. I know there isn't a Tunnel in the 7777 Idea Book but maybe there should have been! Here is the Tunnel Design: Now the rules say we can have up to 3 entries and if we want more we need to ask permission so I guess this is me asking permission as I think all four of my MOCs are worthy contenders for the 7777 Redux Contest. gambort Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 There's about 38hours to go on this contest. So don't get confused about dates :) Tim Quote
JopieK Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Here some of my pictures: I also included some jokes etc. Stickers are as accurate as possible. Enjoy it. Rest: see flick! Quote
kyphur Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Whew! I got all four of my entries in before the deadline with Instructions and only one of them hasn't been realized in real bricks yet (but it's coming soon)... Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Here some of my pictures: I also included some jokes etc. Stickers are as accurate as possible. Enjoy it. Rest: see flick! Wow, what an impressive work! I simply love the details of this large gas station (inspired to middle pages of 7777)! Quote
JopieK Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Thanks for the compliments. Here is a link to the contest again, quite some others did also a great job: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1753302@N21/ B.t.w. it seems to be that that old Shell coworker didn't like them to move away from Shell to Octan. gambort Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 Whoops. Just realised I forgot to post a 'contest is closed and thanks to all entrants" so... Contest is closed and many thanks to all entrants. Loads of great entries. Judging might be a little slow given that one of the judges has just had a new baby, but we'll let you know as soon as we can. Tim Quote
JopieK Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I found this, looks like my entry but even a lot better (though less 7777ish) Quote
gambort Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 We have winners!. And thanks to everyone who entered. It was great to see so many excellent models inspired by the best Ideas Book ever. Tim Quote
