Mr. McDuck Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) My version of the most famous German tank of WW2 era. Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I Tiger I was always my favorite WW2 tank. And I wanted to build it for a long time. And now, it has been finally been finished. I was working on it for a very long time: from May 2011. Since then I have worked on it for almost 35 hours. I have made a lot of changes, had enormous will to put as more detail as I could, but I still wanted it to look very clean and be as much studless as possible. See it on: MOCpages FLICKR Pzkpfw VI Tiger I tank Main pic by Angelo Skorup, on Flickr Interior: Pzkpfw VI Tiger I tank interior1 by Angelo Skorup, on Flickr And a little fun for the end: Pzkpfw VI Tiger I tank and Angry Bird :D by Angelo Skorup, on Flickr Thanks for watching! Mr. McDuck Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Great interior for such a small space to try to squeeze stuff/detial into. Thank you! Well, i really was not easy. I have been redoing the interior for 3 times But it was definitely worth it ! Quote
Julandrius Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Oh hello there :D I allready told you on Flickr. The tank is nice, but that Angry Bird is just the cream of the crop. Amazing all over :D Quote
canuckster Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Nice work Too bad Lego is against everything war themed, I'd buy this in a heartbeat, but they have no problems with Pirate Ships, swords, guns and cannons, seems like a double standard to me. Love the Angry Bird and the use of Imperial logo as the exhaust. Room for minifigs? Edited August 30, 2011 by canuckster Quote

lightningtiger Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 AWESOME tank 'Mr. McDuck', and with interior detailing as well - huge and that is one ticked-off bird on top the tank....don't make him mad ! Brick On 'Mr. McDuck' ! Quote
Catanas Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) This is an absolutely fantastic rendition of a Tiger. I do love the fact you managed an interior too. Perhaps maybe a decal or two now? :D Nice work Too bad Lego is against everything war themed, I'd buy this in a heartbeat, but they have no problems with Pirate Ships, swords, guns and cannons, seems like a double standard to me. I don't really agree personally. Star Wars and Pirates are very fantastical lines. Even though pirates are based on something sinister in history, the pirates Lego choose to make are very stylised and represent what pirates are in popular culture. A bit of a joke right now it seems. This kind of model represents something that is still very recent in peoples minds in terms of history, and what some would consider a great evil. 'If' they ever did this sort of thing I'd never expect it to be minifig scale, something like the WW1 aircraft they once did would keep more to their morals. I'm even surprised they made those. Although saying that, Indiana Jones proves me wrong, but I like to discount that because again, its fantastical. I say, leave it to the MoCers and the plastic kit manufacturers, and I'm sure all this has been covered before so I apologise if I am repeating Anywho! Thumbs up again McDuck! treeboy Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Great Tank! Love the detail work and SNOT. Question: why the rubber on two of the road wheels? Quote

Perhaps maybe a decal or two now? :D .... Anywho! Thumbs up again McDuck! Thank you! Well, I won't put any decals because this model is going to Croatian Kockice LUG exhibition in a week, and they dn not allow any custom parts or decals. Great Tank! Love the detail work and SNOT. Question: why the rubber on two of the road wheels? Thanks! Actually, there is rubber on 3 road wheels and the reason is that the tracks would look bad without that extra milimeters in wheel diameter. Also, that wheels will be replaced by 3x3 dishes, when I get them in the amount needed. Quote
Cave Bear Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 One of the best I have ever seen, the angry bird isn't bad either :P as a rough estimate how many parts did it take to make? Quote
Mr. McDuck Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 One of the best I have ever seen, the angry bird isn't bad either :P as a rough estimate how many parts did it take to make? Tank: around 900-1100 pieces - as you alreydy sed, rough estimate Angry bird: around 50 pieces Quote
Julandrius Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Tank: around 900-1100 pieces - as you alreydy sed, rough estimate Angry bird: around 50 pieces 1000 parts? No way :O Quote
Mr. McDuck Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 1000 parts? No way :O There is very much small plates in the base of the tank- the part where i atached the wheels and I used a lot of small tiles in interior. That is the main reason of large piece approximation. Quote
