Dark_Alamez Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 _________________________________________________________________________________ Once it was a town full of wealth and prosperity. But nowadays not a trace of former splendour remains. The town was plundered by the biggest gang in the whole Wild West. The most of buildings were burned and people who offered resistance were killed. After the invasion the majority of survivors once and for all left their homes and moved to neighbouring towns. Just a few decided to stay. But since that time an ill fame of a ghost town firmly fixed for this town... _________________________________________________________________________________ Hi everybody! This is my entry for Spaghetti Western Competition. The main idea was to build something fresh and new for western theme. Inspired by real ghost towns in the USA. Enjoy! Two black ravens are sitting on top. The burned house. The general store. Here strangers are treated with distrust The handcar (pump trolley). Extra picture = ) Quote
papercla Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 WoW! It's wonderful. Pass on the very essence of a ghost town. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Excellent looking ghost town, creepy church and general store too....something you would find in a Scooby-Doo cartoon ! The dead body still holding gun, nice.....is he still alive....driven by evil spirits ? The burn't out building is also fantastic, the dude in black too....oh, he looks judgemental...speaks softly....carrying two guns - they do most of the talking ! Brick On 'Dark_Alamez' ! Quote
Gabe Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Wow, this is great! You've got the run-down look of the place just perfectly. I love the lean on the grey shack, reminds me of a few places i know in central Victoria. The design of the rocking chair is pretty sweet too. Quote
Dark_Alamez Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Excellent looking ghost town, creepy church and general store too....something you would find in a Scooby-Doo cartoon ! Also you would find it in real life I've checked many pictures of real ghost towns and some of them have found a place in my diorama. The dead body still holding gun, nice.....is he still alive....driven by evil spirits ? That's only just for some fun. ; ) Wow, this is great! You've got the run-down look of the place just perfectly. That was my idea - to show all something new for western. = ) I love the lean on the grey shack, reminds me of a few places i know in central Victoria. Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw that house, but I can show you the picture: I'm very glad that you like it. Thanks = ) Quote
Hartfan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 WOw ! Looks so real ! The church looks great ! Amazing creation ! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Great job on a spooky ghost town, the rocking chair is a marvelous design, and I love the slanted building as well. Good luck. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 This is great, lots to like here; the sloping/falling down building, the burnt out structure and the rocking chair are all real highlights. The way you built the tree is also very interesting. Oh man.. your model is very similar with one part of my entry, but for categ 2 Sorry, but I don't know which bit you mean - I can't see any similarity ? Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Fantastic scene! Altough what I like most is the rocking chair! Quote
Dark_Alamez Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Thanks to all! Sorry, but I don't know which bit you mean - I can't see any similarity ? Well it isn't a 100% copy but I saw at your model some similar moments: cemetery is located on a hill, this part of model also have a tree and the scene with minifig under the ground. = ) Quote
Silverface Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 So amazing! Looks just like those abandoned villages from the old west! Good job! Quote
Cara Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I too like the falling down building. Nice :) Quote
Dark_Alamez Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 I too like the falling down building. Nice :) Many people are interested in abandoned and ruined buildings.. they have a peculiar appeal. But I think nobody wants to live in them - only make pictures. = ) Thanks Quote
Big Cam Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I absolutely love those buildings. It's true I'm a sucker for some good tiling, but still, your buildings are great, I love the one that's falling over, there are lots of barns like that in my state, and it looks perfect. I'd love to build a large scale scene like this one day. Really cool MOC! Quote
