oo7 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 This is my first review so if I'm forgetting something feel free to point anything out or ask as many questions as you wish. NAME - Blue Renegade SET # - 8662 PIECE COUNT - 49 PRICE - $3.86 BOX PIC - here I've never heard of building a small set in the bag before Lord T Quote
Section8 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 You and Lord Thrawn have done an excellent job on your reviews of these sets. However, I cannot force myself to like these sets. They remind me too much of Matchbox cars. As much as I like those cars, if I wanted to buy something like them, I'd buy that brand. Imagine these sets as system scale with a figure inside. They'd be pretty good, if done right (which lego has been better at since their 1999-2000 low point. ) All in all, keep up the good reviews of any sets you do. The built-in-the-bag idea was pretty cool and something I'd never thought of, though it's been a long, long while since I bought a single-bag set. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I've been into Technic almost the entire time I've been doing stuff, but now that I appreciate what adding System does to a Technic moc, I'm really likin' these small car sets. They're only $3.99 in the states (Though admittedly, I usually buy them on clearance, around $1.99). For the price, they're more valuable to a Technic mocer than even a giant $9.99 tub of standard bulk bricks. SO many good ("strange") enhancement parts in them. Of course, they must be bought in multiples, for, like X-Pods, they sometimes only come with one single 1x1 slope in a certain color. ...and that's no fun when you're building a robot symmetrically. :-P Quote
Asuka Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I start to appreciate these small sets more and more! Good parts, good prices, and well.... cool little models too. *sweet* Quote
oo7 Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 I don't consider this important enough to get it's own thread and there haven't been many responses here so I guess it's not a big deal, but is the tower crane coming to the US? Quote

Lord Thrawn Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I don't see why it shouldn't, since it looked pretty impressive in real life when I saw it. Also, very nice review! I'm no way the first to build the set in the bag. People such as FBTB's Count Blockula have been doing such things since the tiny-turbo's have been out. It's still fun though. :) I might get this if I see it on sale. Quote
Hobbes Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 does no one know or does no one care? After asking LEGO Direct they answered today: "Dear Mr xyz Thank you for your email from 09/05/06 and for your interest in our LEGO Quote
oo7 Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Ok, so no one knows, thanks Hobbes. Quote
