CoolerTD Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Hi! I present several train cars for my rail road. They do not have the original in real life and built for active play with my child. I Hope you enjoy. Quote
Dan-147 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Those are pretty neat! Very much in the LEGO spirit; they could actually come from an official LEGO set. Dan-147 Quote
AussieJimbo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Top job, CoolerTD. Great freight and passenger cars. They look very nice with the Emerald Night. :classic: Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Beautiful realization! The passenger cars are amazing but the Emerald night with rolling stocks and goods is great! Very well done! Quote
22kane Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Awesome train cars! They're simple yet prototypical and work brilliantly. The colors you chose are perfect and I like them all. Great job! Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Goods waggons are great. Working on some similar right now. I see you have opted for 7 studs wide on the box waggon. I tried mine originally in 8 but it seemed to wide, then 6 seemed to narrow so I settled on 7, seems the best fit to me. Nice to see them lined up like that. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Awesome set of cars 'CoolerTD'. A very nice blend of passenger and cargo stock for the Emerald Night. Very well done Quote
CoolerTD Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 Thanx for your comments! I see you have opted for 7 studs wide on the box waggon. Yes, I think that 7 studs wide is more suitable, especially for passanger car because it allows to make 2 seat rows. Quote
LegoSjaak Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Especially those brown cargo-cars go very well with the Emerald Night!!! Beautifull!! Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
Darth Sutius Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I really like these. They look nice but they're not overdone like a lot of AFOL wagons tend to be. May even poach one or more of those ideas for my own layout! Quote
roamingstop Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I really like these. They look nice but they're not overdone like a lot of AFOL wagons tend to be. May even poach one or more of those ideas for my own layout! Exactly. The trick is to somehow capture the essence of the 'original', and not necessarily a complete model... (although they can look fantastic). A 7 wide solution for enabling two rows of seats is somehow the best solution for models. Even the 6 wide base, expanded to 7 wide with side panels can work well. Some great inspiration. Quote
