1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 What was your first minifigure? Or at least, as far as you can remember? Post a pic My first one must have been one of these: Which was my favorite for a long period of my childhood. Got this pair from 6314. I think my parents bought it and split it between my sister and me. She got the four other figs... . (Fortunately she gave away all her Lego stuff to me years later ) I know I used to switch the pieces of my Lego guys... I'll never know if this guy still has got the blue legs he originally came from, or if the Octan racer stole them. I would hate somebody stealing my pants So what was your first minifig? Tell your anecdotes! PD: Several Google and Eurobricks strongly suggest that this topic doesn't exist already. Quote
charlieboy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 The first minifigures I remember owning were the classic space chaps- Had many of these, I still remember the christmas I unwrapped 6970 Beta I Command Base, I couldnt build the space station but did all the minifigs Quote
22kane Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Mine was the first figure, the police officer from set 600 that someone gave me. My brother also handed down to me the original figures with no faces when I was a child. They sure have come a long way. I still have that police officer too. Quote
K-Nut Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I think it might have been my sigfig. I certainly hope so! Quote
rriggs Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 This fella for me: There was actually two of them in 379 Bus Station which was my first set. I've still got him and the set! Cheers Rog Quote

I love those Classic Space guys. They have such a classic science fiction look. They definitely look like from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Mine was the first figure, the police officer from set 600 that someone gave me. My brother also handed down to me the original figures with no faces when I was a child. They sure have come a long way. I still have that police officer too. That's a nice fig. I got the later version from set 6600 one year ago. Feels like having a piece of Lego history. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Unfortunately I am at work, so no pictures. But I believe my first figure was one of the classic space guys from the mid-80s. Although I think he might have been black, but I could be mistaken since I would've been 2 or 3 at the time. Quote

I don't know set numbers by heart, so I looked up the first set that I remember having with a minifigure. It's 314, and this is the figure in question. No face, no arms, no moveable legs. Cheers, Ralph Quote

He meant this one: Apparently, Lego doesn't consider the old figs to be minifigures when talking about "the first minifigure". We need a definition, like they did with "planet". Quote

I realise that the figure I posted isn't the figure 22kane intended, but it is the first figure that I had. Sorry for the confusion. If minifigures are only the ones with arms and whatnot, I'm lost, because I'm sure I got several of the early ones 1978(?), including a white classic space figure. alois Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 This must also be my first minifigure. Or maybe its blue or red brother. Quote
Artifex Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 This guy here was my very first minifigure: I got him with the 6656 Tow Truck. This set is still one of my all time favorites. Quote
freakwave Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Must be this one: but as figures it was them or does the guy driving this machine count :-) Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Here's an interesting trend. I would say that most people's first minifig is a town figure. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Here's an interesting trend. I would say that most people's first minifig is a town figure. You got it right with me... My first minifig was this guy, from 1990's, 1638 Basic Bucket (Blue). I believe he is somewhere within my city Quote
Roger Rabbit Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I believe it was this guy and his lady friend (although I always assumed she was his daughter), who are buried in my original shoebox of lego. Sadly, her hair went missing years ago... Quote

I remember buying this set in Dieppe,France! I built it on the cross channel ferry on the way home to Blighty! Quote
Zeon Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 My brother's and my first figures were these firemen, with our first set with minifigs (374-1), if you don't count those big figures with poseable arms, sphere heads and 2x2 brick bodies. It's a shame that their decals worn off quite fast (or did we play with them too much? :)) I still have poor fellas around in my "borken lego" box for they are totally worn-out and you can't even have them to sit any more for their limbs are too loose and their faces are totally missing. I would raise the bar and ask you to post an ACTUAL photo of the minifig. :) My first minifigure by hatalmas, on Flickr My first minifigure by hatalmas, on Flickr Quote
AmiPolizeiFunk Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Mine was a little classic space 'naut, mos def. Can't remember which color tho. Quote
Jargo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 These two I think. It's certainly the first set I remember getting that had minifigs. The first one I bought for myself was Quote
Zeya Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 My first minifigure that I can remember was one of the red or yellow astronauts from the classic space theme. These guys came in a big bucket of bricks from my cousins (who were getting to be teenagers when I was old enough to start using system Lego). (photo courtesy of bricklink.com) Quote
