K-Nut Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) "Told you so! I will use a Lightning spell against Mabel the Table from the back row." Edited August 26, 2011 by K-nut
Pandora Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Clever Cronk! Mabel is a table! And Althior was indeed right that we'd be attacked by books. Who knew? OK team there are six targets and there are six of us, therefore will everyone please target something different so the enemy don't get extra hits! So Althior and Cronk, one of you should choose a different target, please. In order to maximise our chances in case I do an overwhelming spell thingumy, I will cast Lightning on the Flying Book(Blue) from the back row. Party order: Cronk Bacari Nyx Althior Namyrra Sylph. I think this could be a somewhat testing battle...
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Mage Nyx clever also. Cronk will bash Book (Tan) instead. Still from front row.
K-Nut Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) Clever Cronk! Mabel is a table! And Althior was indeed right that we'd be attacked by books. Who knew? "I did, apparently. And didn't the High Conjurator have that same Red and white symbol on him when he was a chair? Not to question your logic, Nyx, but should somebody who uses Ether be more towards the top of the list so they'll have a less chance of losing all their Ether from one of the books?" Edited August 26, 2011 by K-nut
Dannylonglegs Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 "Great! Combat! Nothing like a morally unambiguous brawl to get the blood pumping! I'll target the Book (Black) with my staff from the front row."
Quarryman Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 "Finally some proper resistance! Using my newly acquired Ruby I'll cast a Fire spell at the Flying book (red)!" "And obviously I'll do that from the back row."
Pandora Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Not to question your logic, Nyx, but should somebody who uses Ether be more towards the top of the list so they'll have a less chance of losing all their Ether from one of the books?" The party order doesn't matter when it comes to losing Ether, it will only matter if we fail to target one of our foes, which is exactly what we're trying to avoid here. There are six of us and only one can target Mabel the Table, which you are currently doing, and the rest of us have to target all the other baddies and take the risk of losing Ether against the books. To be perfectly honest it would be better for me to target Mabel as I am stronger, have more Ether to lose, and can still use Lightning. With that in mind, the party order stays as it is and I will target Mabel from the back row with Lightning, and I suggest you Althior target the Flying Book(Blue) also from the back row with your lightning.
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Hehe, Bacari unslings his crossbow, MISFIRE My crossbow shall go clean through this book. Back Row Attack Green Book
K-Nut Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "Alright then Nyx, I'll target the Blue book from the back row with a lightning spell."
Sandy Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 Results of Round One of the Library Battle: Cronk vs. Tan Book - Special Damage >Bacari vs. Green Book - Special Damage >Nyx (Lightning) vs. Mabel the Table - Damage >Althior (Lightning) vs. Blue Book - Special Damage >Namyrra (Fire) vs. Red Book - Great Spell Sylph vs. Black Book - Special Damage The battle commences. The Flying Book with tan covers tries to give Cronk Bad Education, but fails since he doesn't have any ether. The same happens with the green-covered Book and Bacari. Mabel the Table assaults Nyx, but only takes 2 damage because she is standing in the back row. The blue Book manages to give Bad Education to Althior, sucking away all his ether and thus rendering him unable to cast spells until some of it is regained. Namyrra manages to create a big fireball and hurls it at the red Flying Book, damaging it for 8 points of health and thus defeating it. Sylph Solanum, the party's healer, gets all his ether drained as well by the Book with black-covers. Severely disabled, the party still faces five enemies. The battle continues. Quarryman Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "Noble leader, seeing as we're now down to 5 enemies and can afford to have two people targeting the same enemy I'd like to target Mabel the Table, which is the only one I can achieve double damage against. And I think we still have a very good chance of winning this, so I don't think we should flee." "So, here goes: I'll be in the Back row casting a Fire spell at Mabel the Table."
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 CLICK, Bacari aims his reloaded crossbow and tries to hit the GREEN BOOK. Bacari steps behind him, firing from the BACK ROW.
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Cronk think that not able to go much worse. Cronk agree with Mage Namyrra. Party not take a lot of damage so party should continue fight. Mages with small health might try be careful though. Cronk will once again try to bash Tan Book From front row.
K-Nut Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "I'll also attack Mabel the Table from the front row, seeing as I have no Ether."
Dannylonglegs Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) "Well damnatations! Now I'm all but useless! I guess I'll swat at the black book again with my staff from the front row. Oh, Althior, why don't you target a book and let Nyx and Shady tackle the Table? The book can't decrease your ether, but it can their's." With that he swatted as if he had nothing to lose because, well, he had nothing to lose. Edited August 27, 2011 by Dannylonglegs
Pandora Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Well, that went swimmingly. Sylph and Namyrra, you both speak wisely and Sylph you're far from useless. Althior I respect, nay admire your bloodlust, but Sylph has made an excellent point and I'm sorry to have to ask you once again to change your target to the Flying Book(Blue), whilst I attempt to attack Mabel with Lightning again from the back row with Namyrra. Beware though, Althior, you will take full damage in the front row. Party Order: Cronk Bacari Nyx Althior Namyrra Sylph (just in case you pull off a miracle thingy)
K-Nut Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "Well then, someone has to attack it, so I'll attack the Blue Book from the back row."

Cronk is attacked by the tan-covered Flying Book, but his shield protects him from losing health. Signor Bacari shoots his arrow at the green Book, causing 5 damage. Nyx casts an extra effective lightning-spell at the cursed Mabel, causing 22 damage and instantly defeating it. Althior misses his target. With her target gone, Namyrra moves on to target the Flying Book with blue covers, but it attacks her, and she loses 1 health since she is standing in the back row. Quarryman Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Okay, we're making progress, eliminating Mabel the table was great, well done noble leader. And now we should probably have two of us target the Blue book, two target the Tan one (as these are the enemies with the most health remaining), and then the remaining two party members target one book each. Sounds good?"
Dannylonglegs Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Oh goody! Turns out I'm not entirely useless after all! And great going Nyx that shot was stunning! Nay, electifying! Unless you have any objections Nyx, I think I'll bash this black book from the front once more."
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Cronk bash Tan Book from front row again. Cronk hope Cronk will hit it this time.
K-Nut Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "I will again bash the Blue Book from the back row. I'm starting to sound like Cronk more and more! "
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I'm going to shred this to pieces this time. Bacari loads a heavier, armor piercing bolt into his crossbow. Back Row, fire at Green book
Quarryman Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "And I'll once again be in the back row casting a Fire spell at the tan book. Now, if Nyx could target the blue book we can end this battle right now, if we have a bit of luck."
Pandora Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Now, if Nyx could target the blue book we can end this battle right now, if we have a bit of luck. Well, let's see what we can come up with, eh? Party Order: Sylph Nyx Cronk Bacari Namyrra Althior And obviously I agree with the aged Namyrra, I shall cast Lightning on the Flying Book (Blue), from the back row. Fingers crossed team!
