Cronk think everyone counting chickens before hatching. Party should worry about reward distribution once party completes quest. Cronk think there probably still a lot of evil left to bash.

Cronk think we need to go save other mages and find out what happen to Matriarch.

Cronk remember Altair say voice familiar. About how long ago did Mage Altair hear this voice? Did something else evil happen to Mage family then?

Ooooh! Shiny! Now I can kill things in even more interesting ways! :grin:

Nyx can feel the power of the gems and knows it will be difficult for her to part with them again, however she swore she'd do her duty for Heroica, and just having the opportunity to feel their magic is enough, for now...

I think Cronk is very wise, we should focus on the matter in hand, and it would be useful to know more of this voice from your childhood, High Conjurator, and perhaps understand if there is some sort of curse upon this great family. Having said that, I am quite keen to try out these new gems... :wink:

The red-clad mage shakes his head.

"I didn't even remember having heard such a voice before I heard it again. And even as we speak I have trouble remembering what the voice sounded like... It's as if the voice does not want to be remembered... But if what it said is true, that we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past, then I think I can guess when I heard the voice the last time... It was when mother died, back when Goldraum and I were just little children. Oh, this is so horrible..."

The High Conjurator falls silent, and just sits at the couch of the parlour. There is nothing more to be found in that room. What will the party do next?

Cronk think party should search other rooms. Maybe find other mages, maybe find clues to what evil thing made mages vanish.

"I don't remember much." The wizard's voice is quiet, almost a whisper. "Most of it was told to us by our father. He said mother had died in a magical accident. It is a common way for a wizard to go, I admit. Some survive, but are altered for life, like our sister Chesterine. Anyway, the night father told us that mother had died the ominous voice spoke to us... Grandmother was very upset then, I don't think I've ever seen her in such a state of mind after that. It was a very scary situation for us children, and I think I kept my eyes closed through most of it. I-I'm sorry, I fear we are involved with something highly dangerous... If you can help, I am very grateful, but if you think you cannot, I won't blame you for running away. I would, if I could... But I don't know what happened to Beth and the children... Oh no, the children!"

With that, the High Conjurator stood up and dashed out of the parlour. The heroes were left standing alone.

Well, I guess he didn't want to talk to us anymore, and I suppose someone had to think of the children. :sceptic:

As usual, Cronk, you're very sensible, we should move on to another room and be prepared to do battle with an occasional table, or umbrella stand.

Altier hinted that the spell came down the chimney, so maybe it came from the roof, or atleast a higher up level's fireplace. Also, If we can find it without Altiar, we outta check out Zelda's room."

The party leaves the parlour, and in the hallway right outside the parlour doors they bump into Schuester, the strange butler.

Righty-ho, I agree that it's best to start on this floor and work our way through all the rooms. Oh my... there are a lot of rooms to search, 12 in fact that we've not yet been in (not counting the hallways), and we mustn't forget to visit the sunroom. The servants' quarters are as good a place as any to start, unless someone objects? I really would like to kill something soon. :sweet:

The party decides to check the servants' quarters first. There are four beds (although the one belonging to Schuester looks more like some animal's nest than a bed), one of which is occupied by a snoring housemaid. None of the furniture seem bent to attack them, and there is nothing worthwhile to take.

I'm sure that bed's looking at me funny, but anyway...Onwards! To the library! Killing a sleeping housemaid is no sport, and who'd do the cleaning up afterwards? :sceptic:

And at the library, I'd like to search the records and books for anything with voices and purple magic/light. Perhaps something in there could tell us of a magic spell of sort that could help us/give us information on what we are dealing with.

The party heads to inspect the Library next. Much to their surprise, they find books fluttering in the air around a grinning desk with an ample amount of lipstick. When the sentient table spots the party, however, it starts to moan.

"N-n-no, I cannot stop myself! P-please forgive me, Sir Cronk!"

The voice belongs to the Secondary Spiritist Mabel Ziegfried. Not being able to resist the curse, she attacks the party, accompanied by five flying books.
