Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 And I don't suppose we can split up and go both ways? The party realizes that if they split up and one of the groups finds the Scarecrow, they have to fight it without the aid of the other group(s). Is this what the party wishes to do?
Peppermint_M Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Strenght in numbers Ranger Docken, splitting up seems a risky idea, but we must save one more field." Tesni surveyed the waving stalks of the maze, checking for signs of monsters.
Fred Fred Burger Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Huzzah victory! Good work against the direwolf comrades! For a moment their I thought defeat was inevitable, but we pulled together and won the day! And thank you for the bone ranger Docken, I preffer that to a dagger I do not have the skill to use . On the issue of the maze I think we should stay together. Even if we find the scarecrow, with only half our party, chances are we won't be able to defeat it before the field is ruined. Plus the maze still diverges after the first turn so if we wanted to cover all parts of the maze we'd have to split up even more. And on that note I think Left is a reasonable choice, though only a guess. And about my health, party leader, Should I take one of my potions, have the good cleric heal me, or simply tough it out ?
Tamamono Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Well, this will definitely be a tough one." "Which way does everybody think we should go?" And about my health, party leader, Should I take one of my potions, have the good cleric heal me, or simply tough it out:sceptic: ? "I'd be happy to heal you if Ranger Docken is alright with that."
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Healing is fine with me. Let's go together the first time, and if we have to return to the entrance, we'll split up then. Shall we go Left, then?
Tamamono Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Okay, I'd like to heal Christopher Daggerfall." Let's go together the first time, and if we have to return to the entrance, we'll split up then. Shall we go Left, then? "Left sounds fine to me!"
Peppermint_M Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Left would be fine, but how will we know if we find the map? Do we have to look carefully or will we just come across it?"
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Left would be fine, but how will we know if we find the map? Do we have to look carefully or will we just come across it?" We can always just say, "I check our surroundings for a map" every time we turn. We've got a majority vote, so the party goes Left and I check our surroundings for a map.
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 The party decides to keep an eye out for a map. They will surely see it if they come across it. The party decides to turn left. They walk about five paces until they come to another divide in the path. STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
Peppermint_M Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 "Well Docken? Another turn in our tale or straight on? I prefer a to be up high and looking out, but these flimsy plants offer no such help, I will leave the direction choosing to the ranger." Tesni kept alert, mazes could mean a monster around any corner.
Sisco Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Jess sheathed Blohdhurm, and hefted the bone dagger. "I'll go ahead and use this, until I can upgrade Blohdhurm," Jess said, a little sad to be using a new weapon. Jess pulled a quill and a piece of parchment out of her bag. "I'll try to keep a rough track of where we've been."
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Since you guys don't seem to care which way we go, I suppose I now hold the power to decide. More power! Erm, excuse me. The party goes Straight.
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 The party goes Straight. The party continues straight ahead, and after a few paces comes to a corner in the maze that turns right. Moving about seven paces forward, the party arrives to another crossing. STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 By my sense of direction, that should mean we've done this: |_ |X | | | | | | _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ E Where 'E' is the entrance and 'X' is our current position. Shall we continue straight?
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Shall we continue straight? The party goes straight, and after a few paces comes to a similar crossing. STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I actually meant that to me a question to the rest of the group, but faster game play is fine with me. | _ |X | |_ | | | | | | | __ __ __ | _ __ __ __ __ E So it looks to me like we've hit the left side of the maze, unless this maze is bigger and doubles back. I'm thinking we continue straight and define the borders of the maze. What do you guys think?* *that's a question to the group, not our action
Tamamono Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 So it looks to me like we've hit the left side of the maze, unless this maze is bigger and doubles back. I'm thinking we continue straight and define the borders of the maze. What do you guys think?* "I think that's the best course of action, but we have to remember that the scarecrow is at a dead end, so we'll have to take some turns now and again."
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Perhaps it would be best, then, if I ask Farmer Donauld, what exactly counts as 'returning to the entrance'? Is it whenever we pass by it doubling back? Because if it is, we just completely explore the left side, then we double back to the entrance and completely explore the right side.
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Perhaps it would be best, then, if I ask Farmer Donauld, what exactly counts as 'returning to the entrance'? Is it whenever we pass by it doubling back? The farmer does not hear the party, but returning to the entrance means exactly what it says. Even passing by the entrance is counted as returning to it. The party decides to continue straight. In a couple of paces they hit another corner that turns right. Six paces onwards they come to a crossing. STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 What I mean to ask is, can we double back to previous intersections within the maze without returning to the entrance? And we are: _ __ __ __ __ __ _X_ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _| |_ | | |_ | | | | | | | __ __ __ | _ __ __ __ __ E
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 What I mean to ask is, can we double back to previous intersections within the maze without returning to the entrance? The party can of course backtrack whenever they feel like it.
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Excellent. Alright, I'm thinking we go straight, finish this road which would appear to be the top edge, and then once we get to the turn to the right edge, we start filling in the middle. (we don't want to finish the right edge because if the final turn there leads to the entrance, we'll waste a chance to go back to said entrance)* *this, again, is a question to the group, not an action. Unless of course, the QM wants to make the game move faster, in which case I'm certainly not going to complain.

Brickdoctor Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 All right, the party continues straight.
Sandy Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 All right, the party continues straight. Heading straight on, the party comes to an s-shaped corner that turns right and then left. Three more paces bring them to a crossing. STRAIGHT or RIGHT?
