Peppermint_M Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I will attack Direwolf C from the front row. The field is destroyed but I do not want to leave a wolf loose on this farm!
Brickdoctor Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I will attack Direwolf C from the front row. The field is destroyed but I do not want to leave a wolf loose on this farm! Who cares about the farm? Think of the XP and the loot! Not that I don't want to save Farmer Donauld's farm. And no, I don't say that just because of the XP and the loot still to be had. Hopefully
Sisco Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 "I will not miss this time! I'll attack Direwolf C from the Front row!" Jess shouted, annoyed that the day had fatigued her into missing so much.
Tamamono Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 "I will attack Direwolf C from the front row!"
Fred Fred Burger Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'll attack Direwolf c from the back row. Good farmer if we kill the Direwolf this turn, and it howls, will another wolf appear?
Brickdoctor Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'll attack Direwolf c from the back row. Good farmer if we kill the Direwolf this turn, and it howls, will another wolf appear? If it howls, it will do so before it dies, so yes, another Direwolf would appear.
Sandy Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Results of Round Five of the Direwolf Battle: Thrain vs. Direwolf C - Shield Tesni vs. Direwolf C - Special Damage >Bartholomew vs. Direwolf C - Hit Jess vs. Direwolf C - Critical Hit >Christopher vs. Direwolf C - Special Damage Tomas vs. Direwolf C - Miss The battle still goes on. Thrain takes the Sentinel-position for the next round. The remaining Direwolf howls for help, and yet another Direwolf appears. This one seems to be just a pup, though. Bartholomew hits the adult Direwolf for 6 damage, while Jess gets a critical hit on it, causing nine damage and a poisoned status. Then the Direwolf summons another pup into the battle. Tomas misses. The Direwolf takes one more damage from the poison. Three enemies remain. The battle continues. Enemies: Direwolf C Type: Beast Level: 5 Health: 2/25 *poisoned* Special I: Howl – Summons another Direwolf to join the battle. If there are three Direwolves (counting pups as well) in battle, Blood Fang is used instead. Special II: Blood Fang – Transfers 6 health from the target to self. Used instead of Howl if there are three Direwolves in battle. Drops: 1 Fang Dagger (WP: 4, suitable for mages and rogues) Direwolf Pup A Type: Beast Level: 4 Health: 15/15 Special: Return To The Pack – The Direwolf Pup flees the battle. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.
Brickdoctor Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This battle's definitely looking winnable now. Since you will automatically target a different enemy if your target is killed, everyone, target Direwolf C, even though it only has 2 health. Order of Actions: Thrain Bartholomew Tesni Jess Christopher Tomas I'll attack Direwolf C from the back row. Christopher, again, I suggest you stay in the back row.
Tamamono Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 "Not more of these things! Ranger Docken, shall I heal Christopher or do you want me to attack Direwolf C?"
Brickdoctor Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 "Not more of these things! Ranger Docken, shall I heal Christopher or do you want me to attack Direwolf C?" Either works. As long as Christopher stays in the back row, he should be safe, so you can attack Direwolf C. Let's just concentrate as much attack as possible on the Direwolf, so we can ensure no more enemies appear and then finish off the battle. Christopher does have 3 Potions if he drops critically low on health.

Brickdoctor Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Oh, and I forgot to mention, with the Sentinel position taken, we don't have to worry about Free Hits, and Christopher, you can stay in the front row.
Peppermint_M Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I will attack Direwolf C from the front row. Surely we will win soon?
Sisco Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 "Alright, it's Direwolf C from the Front Row for me, then."
Fred Fred Burger Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) I'll attack direwolf C from the front row. (Oh and Sandy thank you for being generous and not making us fight more adult direwolves .) Edited September 2, 2011 by Fred Fred Burger

With his original target defeated, Bartholomew shoots the first Direwolf Pup for 6 damage. Jess follows the attack, causing 6 more damage and poisoning the pup. Christopher's attack finally scares the pup away, leaving only the bone it carried behind. Meanwhile, Tomas gets a critical hit on the remaining enemy, dealing 9 damage. One enemy remains. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain a level of experience. The enemies drop three Fang Daggers and two Bones. Party (after the battle): Bartholomew Docken (played by Brickdoctor) Level 4 Ranger (Party Leader) Power: 7 Health: 10/10 Gold: 5 Inventory: Longbow (WP: 3), Fang Dagger (WP: 4, unsuitable), Smoke Bomb, Bedroll Sir Christopher Daggerfall (played by Fred Fred Burger) Level 4 Knight Power:7 Health:7/13 Gold:0 Inventory: Shining Greatsword (WP:3), Shield with Crown Emblem(SP:2), Bedroll, 3 Potions, Tonic, Bone Jess Islanti (played by cralegoboy) Level 4 Rogue Power: 8 Health: 8/10 Gold: 5 Inventory: Fang Dagger (WP: 4), Longsword (WP: 3), 2 Venoms, Potion, Tonic Tesni Hightribe (played by Peppermint_M) Level 4 Barbarian Power: 8 Health: 11/11 Gold: 10 Inventory: Cryfder (WP:3), Fang Dagger (WP: 4, unsuitable), 2 Potions, Mead Thrain Longbeard (played by Lego Pinocchio) Level 4 Knight Power: 7 Health: 11/13 Gold: 10 Inventory: Dwarf Sword (WP: 3), Shield (SP: 2), 2 Potions Tomas (played by Captain Tamamono) Level 4 Cleric Power: 7 Health: 12/12 Ether: 7/8 Gold: 5 Inventory: Gold Staff (WP: 3), Potion, 2 Remedies, Tonic, Bedroll, Bone Party Leader, how will the spoils of the battle be divided? 3 x Fang Dagger - WP: 4, suitable for mages and rogues 2 x Bone - Can be thrown at monsters to distract them for a turn. Worth nothing, except in magic shops where it’s worth 5 gold.
Brickdoctor Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hurrah! It is a pity the field was ruined in the process, but I'm glad we won this one. Okay, spoils of war - One Fang Dagger to Jess, who is the only one who can actually use such a weapon. One Fang Dagger each to Tesni and myself, who have received the least spoils out of the active heroes. That leaves one Bone each to Tomas and Christopher. Shall we check out the maze next?
Tamamono Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 "It's a shame that we weren't able to save the field, but I'm certainly glad we were able to emerge victorious from that encounter!" Shall we check out the maze next? "Sounds good to me."
Peppermint_M Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Tesni accepted the dagger with a nod, stowing it with her potions and meade. Exhaling loudly she whiped her brow. "That was a fierce battle! I was not expecting so very many foes. I am glad we have won. A maze would be welcome, a break from many howling wolves."
Sandy Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 With the Direwolves dead or banished, Old Mack Donauld dares to approach the party again. "Too bad for the field, but at least most of the sheep flock was saved. I just need to find a new meadow for them to graze. Now, you wish to go to the Corn Maze next, aye? Remember that you can only afford to ruin one of my fields anymore. Ruin both of the remaining two, and I will definitely not give you the reward." 1. Sheep Meadow ~ RUINED! 2. Corn Maze ~ You must navigate through the corn maze to find the possessed Scarecrow. If you return to the entrance two times before the monster is slain, the field is ruined. 3. Haystacks ~ You must search through nine haystacks to find three Battle Ants. The ants have also hidden three Fire Bombs into the haystacks that will go off if the stack is searched. The ants must be found before the three bombs, or the field is ruined. 4. Apple Orchard ~ SAVED! 5. Pumpkin Patch ~ SAVED!
Brickdoctor Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Somehow I have a good feeling about the Haystacks, but the Maze sounds good, too. To the maze, Farmer Donauld!
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 The party heads to the Corn Maze. At the entrance, Old Mack turns to them. "Now listen carefully. The Scarecrow is hiding in a dead-end somewhere inside this maze. I don't really remember the configuration of the maze, so I've drawn a map of it. Unfortunately I dropped it somewhere inside the maze when I was fleeing from the monster a few days ago. Find it, and you'll have much easier time navigating the maze. Remember, if you return to the entrance two times after you enter before defeating the Scarecrow, the monster will have had time to ruin the field. Now, go ahead and enter." The party steps through the entrance into the Corn Maze. There is a long hedge of corns directly in front of them, and the path they stand in goes both left and right. Which way will the party choose, LEFT or RIGHT?
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Does my tracking ability work here, Farmer Donauld?
Sandy Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Does my tracking ability work here, Farmer Donauld? There are no animal tracks in sight.
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 And I don't suppose we can split up and go both ways? If we can't, I guess we just pick a direction.
