Sisco Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Alright, I'll attack Direwolf A from the Front Row."
Sandy Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Forgot that. Farmer Donauld, if we don't target all the Direwolves but I use a Smoke Bomb at the end of the round, will they still get free hits? Mack guffaws. "Of course not! You'll be running like all of hell is after you once you use a Smoke Bomb. But beware, if you flee the battle, the field will be ruined for sure."
Peppermint_M Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "Shall we fight? If all of us attack we may win. It is not in me to run from battle, friends."
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I don't see us winning in four rounds. We'd have to land at least six Critical Hits and one Hit, assuming they don't gain any more health. Unless you guys want to stick around for one more round and see what happens? That's okay with me.
Fred Fred Burger Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) I don't know if we should flee or not:sceptic:. I guess it depends on weather or not more dire wolfs will come, if we kill one and they howl will more come? Because if they don't I think we an win this. But if they can spawn infinitely I think we should use the smoke bomb. I'll target dire wolf B from the front row. Edited August 30, 2011 by Fred Fred Burger

Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 The pack of wolves is big, and the Direwolves can surely summon more of their brethren if their number falls below three. I really don't want to take that chance. Let's just make the best of our Sentinel position, deal some damage, hopefully take one or two down, and escape.Christopher, please attack Direwolf A, as per the plan to take out at least one Direwolf.

Christopher, please attack Direwolf A, as per the plan to take out at least one Direwolf. But if the party escapes, they will not gain experience (even if they do kill some of the Direwolves), and the field will be ruined. There is no sense for them to try to get a few more hits on the wolves unless they aim to win the battle. The party should decide between escaping immediately, or staying to fight at least one more round.
Fred Fred Burger Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) The pack of Direwolves is large, so the Direwolves can surely summon more of their brethren if their number falls below three. OCC: That seems kind of unfair sense chances are that one of the wolves will roll it's special attack every turn(6 players 6 different things can be rolled) so we're essentially fighting an unwindable battle with a new wolf spawning every time we kill one:sceptic:. Sorry, I will attack direwolf A from the front row. Edited August 30, 2011 by Fred Fred Burger

I suppose we could still get the dropped item, but that's not worth the effort. All right, I'll attack Direwolf A, from the back row. If things are looking terrible after this round, we can always escape next round without taking any damage if I go first and throw the smoke bomb.

Tesni falls into a Frenzy, causing 7 damage to all wolves. Jess lands a poisonous hit on the original Direwolf that takes it down. Tomas fails to heal Bartholomew, while the ranger takes a good aim at the second Direwolf, causing 3 damage. The third Direwolf would get a free hit against Thrain if it weren't for the protection offered by Sir Christopher. Two enemies remain, and the battle goes on. Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 What do you guys think? Want to go on? We do have enough health left that I think we could go another round and I could throw a Smoke Bomb last as a failsafe in case we don't win. If we do go on, let's concentrate fire on Direwolf B.
Tamamono Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "What do you guys think; should I attack a direwolf or should I heal Ranger Docken for the next field?"
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "What do you guys think; should I attack a direwolf or should I heal Ranger Docken for the next field?" If I'm going to throw the smoke bomb, you might as well go before me, see if you can land a hit, and then heal me between battles. But that depends on whether we want to keep fighting after this round.
Tamamono Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "Okay then, I'll attack Direwolf B from the Front Row."
Peppermint_M Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "We are unlikely to save the field by the looks of things. Two people must hit the one direwold and the others must hit the remaining, this is guessing it will not call a friend. We should really run now as anything we do will not save this field and we risk doom to contiue. I do not wish to be over careful, but it seems like it is better to find a less fearsome foe for now."
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 First I must ask, Farmer Donauld, if we flee with the smoke bomb, would we still be able to pick up the item the dead Direwolf dropped? And if we decide to stay, can we keep fighting the Direwolves after round 4?

And if we decide to stay, can we keep fighting the Direwolves after round 4? If the party flees, they will not get anything from the battle. If they decide to fight, they can fight until either side wins, no matter how many rounds it takes. The field will be ruined after the fourth round, though.
Brickdoctor Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Ugh. Okay. What do you guys want to do? Farmer Donauld, do I have time during this lengthy battle in which I can hold a conversation without being harmed to give my Smoke Bomb to another player?
Sandy Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Farmer Donauld, do I have time during this lengthy battle in which I can hold a conversation without being harmed to give my Smoke Bomb to another player? Giving items to another player during battle takes one turn.
Brickdoctor Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Giving items to another player during battle takes one turn. Okay. I thought that.So do you guys want to go another round? I have no problem with it.
Brickdoctor Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 You know what? Let's just go for it. We have enough health. Order of Action: Christopher Thrain Tesni Jess Tomas Bartholomew Did I already drink my Potion? I don't remember doing so. If I didn't I'll drink it, otherwise I'll attach Direwolf B from the Back Row and hope for the best.

Both knights miss their attacks on the second Direwolf, but Tesni manages to hit it for 7 damage. Jess misses as well, while Tomas finishes the wolf off. Bartholomew takes this moment to drink a Potion, restoring himself to full health. Not being targeted, the remaining Direwolf attacks Christopher, causing 3 damage because of the knight's shield.
