Sandy Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 After a long chase through the meadow, the party finally manages to catch the Chubby Ewe. Tamamono Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "I'd like to attack the Dire Wolf from the back row."
Fred Fred Burger Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I'll attack the direwolf from the front row.
Brickdoctor Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Order of Action is: Daggerfall Longbeard Docken Hightribe Islanti Tomas I have a feeling this will be the most challenging battle yet. I'll take the Direwolf from the back row.
Peppermint_M Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Tesni gripped Cryf tightly. "I will attack from the front row." She tensed for the coming fight.
Sisco Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 "Looks like I was right again... I'll attack the Direwolf from the front row!"
Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Actually, Jess, this might not be a bad time to take a turn to poison your weapon.
Sisco Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Hm. We only have four turns to kill this thing. Unless I'm mistaken, I'll only do three extra damage if I poison Blohdhurm, which is less than what I could get on my first turn. I know I have three vials, but don't you think that those would be better used in a battle without a time limit? I will if you really want me to, but I think it's impractical."

The dwarf Thrain tries to follow his lead, but misses the wolf. The wolf turns its attention to the ranger Bartholomew, but only causes 3 damage because Bartholomew is standing in the back. Then the wolf makes a drastic move: it howls for help, and another Direwolf joins the battle. Then it assaults Jess, taking 5 health from her. Tomas lands a critical hit on the original wolf, causing 9 damage. Since the second Direwolf was not targetted by anyone, it is free to attack Sir Christopher, but only biting off 3 health from him thanks to his shield. The party faces two enemies now, and the battle heats up. Enemies: Direwolf A Type: Beast Level: 5 Health: 10/25 Special I: Howl – Summons another Direwolf to join the battle. Tamamono Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Since Jess has the least health, I'll heal her from the back row."
Sisco Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Well that's just perfect. I don't think that this field will be saved in four turns, so I'll go ahead and Use 1 venom."
Peppermint_M Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "Two direwolves? In that case I will attack wolf b from the front row" Tesni glared fiercely at her target.
Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 By the way, does my Animal Friend ability work here? Or only on animals I'm not battling?
Sandy Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 By the way, does my Animal Friend ability work here? Or only on animals I'm not battling? Bartholomew tried communicating with the Direwolves, but they weren't interested in chit-chat. They just wanted to rip his throat out.
Fred Fred Burger Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I'll attack direwolf b from the front row. Will the direwolfs be able to spawn infinatly or will their be a max of three summoned even if one's died?
Brickdoctor Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Oh, are we waiting on me and the Order of Actions? Sorry, forgot about that. Thrain Christopher Tesni Bartholomew Jess Tomas

Sir Christopher decides to take the Sentinel-position, protecting the party from damage for the duration of the next round. Tesni takes a strike at the second Direwolf, causing 7 damage to it. Since there are already three wolves in the fray, the first Direwolf uses Blood Fang against Bartholomew instead of howling for more help. This move transfers 3 health from Bartholomew to the wolf. Jess uses the opportunity to coat her weapon with Venom for the remainder of the battle. Tomas decides to heal Jess, and manages to restore 3 health to her. Tamamono Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Three Dire Wolves, now!?" "I can't see us winning this one, but I guess I'll heal Ranger Docken from the Back Row. Bartholomew, should I go before you so the wolves won't be able to kill you before I restore your health?" "Whoops! I forgot that Daggerfall's taking the Sentinel position. I'll still heal Ranger Docken from the back row, but I can go last now."
Brickdoctor Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Terrific. Okay, I definitely don't see us winning this in four rounds. Farmer Donauld, if Jess flees and then the rest of us are defeated, can we investigate the two remaining fields instead of returning to Heroica Hall? In any case, I'll attack Direwolf C from the back row. With the possibility of a summoned Direwolf getting a free hit gone and the Sentinel position taken, the order is now: Thrain Bartholomew Christopher Tesni Jess Tomas

Farmer Donauld, if Jess flees and then the rest of us are defeated, can we investigate the two remaining fields instead of returning to Heroica Hall? The old farmer hollers back at Bartholomew from behind the fence that circles the meadow. "Sure thing, sonny! But don't forget you also have a Smoke Bomb, it's a more safe bet than hoping the rogue gets a chance to flee!"
Peppermint_M Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "This is beginning to look bad. What should we do Docken? Even a frenzy might not work.."
Brickdoctor Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The old farmer hollers back at Bartholomew from behind the fence that circles the meadow. "Sure thing, sonny! But don't forget you also have a Smoke Bomb, it's a more safe bet than hoping the rogue gets a chance to flee!" Forgot that. Farmer Donauld, if we don't target all the Direwolves but I use a Smoke Bomb at the end of the round, will they still get free hits?
Brickdoctor Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Actually, scratch that. We have enough room to play with. Here's the new Order of Actions: Thrain Christopher Tesni Jess Tomas Bartholomew I'll use a Smoke Bomb. Everybody else, target Direwolf A, and let's see if we can take one of 'em down before we leave.
Peppermint_M Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "It is a plan, too many foes makes a losing battle. I target Direwolf A from the front row." Tesni stood her ground, wielding Cryf.
