The party moves the ladder to the third tree to the right, and Tomas climbs up, finding only a red round Big Apple (permanently raises attack power by one), but no dryad. The Party Leader must decide who gets to eat this apple in turn.

The Autumn Dryad switches her hiding place from the first tree to the right, snickering nastily as the pretty apple tree withers.

Four trees remain. Which tree will the party choose next?

I should've listened to Daggerfall.

Okay, Big Apple... we all have equal Attack Power right now, so I'll give it to Tesni, who has yet to receive any of the loot.

Posted

Sure whatever, I guess that's good :hmpf:.

Are you mad at me for not listening to you or for giving the apple to Tesni? If it's the former, sorry. If it's the latter, you got a Tonic so I thought this would be fair.

No it's the first one, I mean come on people the hair gives me psychic powers:alien: I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about :sing:.

OCC: Really though it's not that big a deal. I'm just kind of aggravated it's taking us so long to decide what to do.

What? oh sorry guys. I just found some strange puddle on the ground. In retrospect I probably shouldn't have drank it.:drunk:

OCC: Oh and when I made this post I didn't even know I was right:grin:.

Tesni caught the apple and stowed it. "Thank you there Docken, this is a harder puzzle than the pumpline eh?"

Indeed. But it would have to be this way, otherwise by the fourth guess there'd be no trees left.

So which tree are we going for?

Posted

"How about middle tree left? I'm honestly just guessing at this point."

So are the rest of us. I suppose it can't hurt to double back and check one of the previous trees.

The party carry the ladders back to the middle tree on the left, and sure enough, as Jess climbs up to check the branches, she gets a rotten apple smashed at her face. Much to her surprise, she sees the Autumn Dryad accompanied by three little bear-like creatures, and all four are leering at her. Infuriated, Jess shakes the branches and they all fall tumbling down.

The monsters are not laughing anymore.

Party Leader, choose the order of action.

All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.

Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.

Note that the battle may not last more than four rounds, or the field will be ruined.

Yub yub!

Okay, order of actions is:

Knight Longbeard

Knight Daggerfall

Ranger Docken

Barbarian Hightribe

Rogue Islanti

Cleric Tomas

I'll take the Autumn Dryad from the Back Row, so if she rolls her special it won't affect my offensive power.

Jess unsheathed Blohdhurm, glad to be the one to find the monsters again.

Grinning with the joy of battle, Jess said "I'll take the Brown Bugbear! He won't last long against me!"

Jess thought about what she had said a few moments ago, and added "From the front row, of course!"

Results of Round One of the Dryad Battle:

Thrain Longbeard vs. Autumn Dryad - Shield

Sir Christopher Daggerfall vs. Autumn Dryad - Shield

>Bartholomew Docken vs. Autumn Dryad - Aim

Tesni Hightribe vs. Black Bugbear - Shield

Jess Islanti vs. Brown Bugbear - Critical Hit

>Tomas vs. Grey Bugbear - Spirit Guard

The battle starts with Thrain Longbeard taking the Sentinel position, protecting everyone from damage for the next round. Thinking this as some sort of pissing contest, Christopher also takes on the Sentinel position. Bartholomew takes a good aim at the Autumn Dryad, causing only 3 points of damage. Tesni on the other hand goes on a Frenzy, causing 6 points of damage to all enemies thanks to the extra power gained from eating the Big Apple. That means all three Bugbears fall to Cryfder's blade. With his original target gone, Tomas turns his attention to the Autumn Dryad, who tries to ensnare him with her Poison Ivy, but Tomas's divine powers prevent that.

The Dryad still stands, so the battle continues.

Results of Round Two of the Dryad Battle:

Thrain Longbeard vs. Autumn Dryad - Miss

Sir Christopher Daggerfall vs. Autumn Dryad - Damage

>Bartholomew Docken vs. Autumn Dryad - Damage

Tesni Hightribe vs. Autumn Dryad - Extra Critical Hit

Jess Islanti vs. Autumn Dryad - Special Damage

>Tomas vs. Autumn Dryad - Critical Hit

Bolstered by the knowledge that he could not be harmed this round, Thrain Longbeard makes a foolhardy strike - and misses. The Autumn Dryad whips both Sir Christopher and Bartholomew with her briars, but the knights' Sentinel protects them both. Tesni lands an extra critical hit on the Dryad, causing 12 damage, which is all it takes to bring the menace down.

Party Leader, how will the spoils of the battle be divided?

heroica-potion.jpg3 x Potion (Restores 10 health to the target.)

heroica-remedy.jpg1 x Remedy (Removes all negative effects from the target during a battle.)

heroica-venom.jpg1 x Venom (Use on a weapon to make it cause a poisoned-effect on any enemy it hits for the duration of one battle. A poisoned enemy loses 1 health each turn.)

Posted

Excellent.

Let's see...

I'll give the Remedy to Tomas, a Potion each to Christopher, Tesni, and Thrain, and Jess can have another Venom.

Are we going for the Meadow or the Maze next?

Posted

Back at the farmhouse, Old Mack Donauld inquires the party's next desired destination.

1. Sheep Meadow

~ You must find the Direwolf hiding among the twelve sheep. Each time one of you catches a normal sheep, the Direwolf eats another sheep. If six sheep get eaten before the beast is captured, the field is ruined.

2. Corn Maze

~ You must navigate through the corn maze to find the possessed Scarecrow. If you return to the entrance two times before the monster is slain, the field is ruined.

3. Haystacks

~ You must search through nine haystacks to find three Battle Ants. The ants have also hidden three Fire Bombs into the haystacks that will go off if the stack is searched. The ants must be found before the three bombs, or the field is ruined.

4. Apple Orchard

~ SAVED!

5. Pumpkin Patch

~ SAVED!
