Tesni grimaced. "We should work as pairs against our three foes, we have the combined power to kill them now. We must act fast or lose the field, we can ill aford to do that."

Posted

I agree Tensi now is the time for action! we should attack all our enemies with two people each! It's our only hope to save the fields. I say that the people attacking first attack the crows and the people attacking last should attack the scarecrow, that way the scarecrow can't heal itself. All right team good luck for whatever we decide to do.

>Thrain vs. Scary Crow E - Damage

Tesni vs. Scary Crow C - Special Damage

>Tomas vs. Scary Crow C - Hit

Christopher vs. Scarecrow - Shield

>Jess vs. Scarecrow - Special Damage

The battle reaches it's decisive moments. The round starts on a high note as the ranger scores a critical hit against the other Scary Crow, defeating it. Thrain is attacked by the Scarecrow, but again only receives 1 damage because of his shield and position. The remaining Scary Crow caws at Tesni, instilling fear on her and sending her to the back row. Tomas hits the Scary Crow from the back row, but the four damage it causes isn't enough to take it down. Christopher takes upon the Sentinel-position again. To seal the faith of the field, the Scarecrow eats the remaining crow, regaining full health.

THE FIELD IS RUINED!

One enemy remains. The battle continues to the bitter end.

Party Leader, choose the order of action.

All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.

Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.

MegaBloks! :distressed: Now we have no choice but to take on the Battle Ants.

May I ask god why we have not continued the attack with only one enemy remaining and the Sentinel position taken? Or are we just waiting on the order?

Order of Actions:

Bartholomew

Jess

Tesni

Christopher

Tesni gasped for air, as if she had held her breath a very long time. Dazed she realised she had retreated to the back row of battle and with a start she recalled the last moments of battle...

She had sighted her target, a ragged Scary Crow and it too had looked at her. A caw came from it's damned beak, one like no other carrion croak, it had seeped into the depths of her soul and suddenly she was eight years old again. Held in the urgent grip of the priestess, up on the temple bluff, watching as men with fire and swords struck down her whole world. Their sheild flashed in the torchlight as rain mingled with the tears on her face...

The fear had been all consuming but a warcry from one of her teammates had roused her from the stupour. "By the strength of my blade I vow..." Tesni muttered. "I shall attack this scarecrow also, here from the back row" she cried out, slightly hoarser from the familiar resurgence of grief.

Party Leader, who will receive the spoils of the battle?

heroica-dreadhat.jpg1 x Dread Hat (magical artefact, lower level enemies will not directly attack the wearer)

The party returns to Mack Donauld's farm. The old farmer shakes his head in disappointment.

"That's the second field you ruined, even though I admit you navigated the maze like you've lived there your entire life. But, like I said, I'll be satisfied if just three out of the five fields are saved, so you've got one more chance. Do not let me down."

1. Sheep Meadow

~ RUINED!

2. Corn Maze

~ RUINED!

3. Haystacks

~ You must search through nine haystacks to find three Battle Ants. The ants have also hidden three Fire Bombs into the haystacks that will go off if the stack is searched. The ants must be found before the three bombs, or the field is ruined.

4. Apple Orchard

~ SAVED!

5. Pumpkin Patch

~ SAVED!

That...was...awesome! :devil_laugh: I just dealt 21 damage to an enemy!

So, who do you guys think should have the Dread Hat?

And of course, we head for the dreaded Battla Ants and the Haystacks... :distressed:

"I think you should get it, Barty. You just killed the scarecrow, and you've been a pretty fair party leader so far, so treat yourself to an artifact."

I'd be lying if I said that that thought never crossed my mind ( ), but I just gave myself a Fang Dagger, so I wasn't sure if that'd be fair.

'Barty'? :look:

Tesni sat on the floor and scrubbed some errant moisture from her eyes. The battle had been harrowing from that Caw, magic could surely do some fearful things. The new power she felt dispelled the final clouds of fear from her mind although the inflicted wounds did sting a little.

"We must save the haystacks friends, I do not wish to fail the farmer."

"'Bartholomew' is just way too formal. Get used to it, I'm calling you Barty from now on."

If you want to be formal, you may call me 'Master Docken'. Otherwise, you may use 'Bartholomew'.

While we head to the Haystacks, does no one else care where the Dread Hat goes to? If not, I'm going to take it temporarily and wait to see what (if anything) is gained from our next encounter, and then decide who gets it.

Tesni stood, hefting Cryf onto her back. "Haystacks, time to go fight ants! I hope this battle is easier than other two have been, if only for the sake of the field." she laughed and followed after her friends.

The old farmer lead the party to the final field, which contained nine haystacks. The sun was setting, and the group of heroes was weary of the long day's events. But they knew they had to succeed in saving this field, or the promised reward would slip through their fingers.

heroicaquest1-haystacks.jpg

"Alright, this is your last chance. As I said, three Battle Ants are hiding in three of these nine haystacks. You must locate them all, but beware the Fire Bombs that those devious ants have hidden in three other stacks - if you search the stack with a bomb, it will burst into flames. Needless to say, if all three bombs ignite, the field is ruined. Yup, those ants are masters in setting traps. I don't know what the remaining three stacks contain, though. Of course, I can't say which stacks the ants are hiding in, but I do know they will not attack you until you've found all three."

"Now, which stack will you search first?"
