hugosantos Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Hello everyone! Here it is a MOC that I've presented for the 5th Anniversary Contest of my LUG Comunidade 0937! This is the "The Owl Bank" a bank full of successes since 1929! Its architecture shines through various past influences and their ornamentation with luxurious materials made great fury at that time. The big attraction of the building was the revolving door, very unusual at the time! Today is one of the most respected banks in the city of Metropolis and continues to be the location chosen by the biggest millionaires to save their fortunes. Situated on the main avenue of the city, in its old town, has a privileged place given its founding date. The Owl Bank You can see more photos of it in my Flickr Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Excellent looking classical structure (the windows look high enough for the bank manager and fellow stock brokers to jump though those windows when the stock market crashed ), very nice entrance plus interesting use of black window frames it offsets the white frontage nicely. Is there an interior 'hugosantos' ? In any case, great work and Brick On ! Quote
hugosantos Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 Is there an interior 'hugosantos' ? Hi there lightningtiger, thanks for your comment. Actually the windows frames are Reddish Brown but I didn't build any interiors, I might do that someday, but it isn't on my plans at the moment. Quote
dragunov Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 This owl bank has me hooting, it's that good! Quote
sonicstarlight Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Very nice modular! It's clear what the source material is, but it is very much your own creation. Quote
22kane Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Great looking building!! I'd love to see an interior to this if you ever get around to it. Nice work. Quote
Dark_Alamez Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 It seems to be the model was the bank from 10217 Diagon Alley sometime Good work! Quote
medib Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Gorgeous design... Its breathtakingly beautiful. Good Job. Quote
Andy D Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Very, very nice. Is it modular construction, or just modular look? Thanks for sharing this great MOC. Andy D Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 That is a great neo-classical building 'hugosantos'. The detail around the window are very nice. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Beautiful MOC and fantastic architecture style! This is the kind of bank were I would like to put my money! Great work! Quote
hugosantos Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Thanks for your comments. For now the building just look modular style because it was assembled for expositions in a city layout. Quote
LegoDadRobb Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 This looks like a nice fusion of the DA bank and the GE. The detailing is great. (However, the sidewalk is a bit of a dull disappointment.) Aside from that, super work! Any shots of the interior or other angles of the bank? Quote

Hi, you can see photos of other angles in my flickr following the link pointed in the MOC presentation. I've liked the sidewalk but with more time who know's if I don't do something with detail. HighFlyer Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 It's like Gringott's (10217) but much better and BIGGER! This could easily pass as a LEGO set, and I would for sure buy it. Awesome detailing and I love the style of the building! Quote
migbarroso Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 The contrast between the white and gold give this MOC a very classic look! The design is very good also, making it a very impressive bank that anyone would like to have in his town. Parabéns Hugo Quote
