Elphaba nods at the naga. "I thought my wares might raise some questions. Firstly, the scrolls are not consumed, you can use them infinitely as long as you have the ether to back it up. Healing Staff heals instead of damages, so it will heal both friends and foe when you strike them with it - with the exception of the undead, who take damage from healing. Etzel Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 After Maurice Ratibor had left the Academy of Enlightenment he decided that he would check out the Marketplace right next to it. The rewarded gold from his quest could come of use there. The blacksmith dwarf Smokebeard was rearranging some of his displayed weapons when Maurice walked up to him. "Good morning blacksmith. I've got a job for you. Please merge this light-elemental diamond into my steel mace, and see if you can make it somewhat better to wield also. I've had some trouble with it, I think the balance might be a bit wrong." The dwarf looked at the mace and diamond and told Maurice that it could be done. It would cost him 50 gold for the gem merging and 40 gold for fixing the balance problem with the mace. Maurice paid the blacksmith a total of 90 gold, leaving him with 115 gold in his pouch. He then took a walk and looked at the other market stands while his weapon was reforged by the dwarf. The peculiar wagon caught Maurice's interest and soon he found an interesting object in the green skinned woman's store. "Excuse me Madame, what do you take for this Scroll of Sleep?" "50 gold my good man, and it's possible to use it unlimited times" "Hm, it seems rather worn. Are you sure it's not going to burst into flames after the first time?" "It most certainly will not! I only sell top quality items in my shop!" Maurice looked askance at the old skeleton back in the wagon but didn't say anything. Instead he paid the 50 gold he was asked for and got the somewhat worn but apparently fully functional scroll. He now had 65 gold left. "Thank you very much sir. I'm happy that one of you heroes from Heroica finally showed up and bought something from me. Please tell your friends about me." Maurice then walked back to the blacksmith and picked up his new Diamond-infused mace (WP:4, light-elemental). During his walk home through the city the morning light blazed in the diamond's facets and Maurice felt like he was surrounded by the divine power of Ennoc, the light that reveals everything. He had learned so much during his first quest and was already feeling eager to join another. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Alf walked up to the green witch Elphaba. "So, you buy these globey things? how much you willing to pay?" Elphaba chuckles and then speaks. "Just for you, I'll buy it for say, 100 coins. does that sound like a deal?" Alf was amazed at how much a little glass ball was worth. Alf puts the Crystal ball on the side of the wagon. Alf trades: Crystal Ball(1) for Gold coin(s)(100) Alf now has 300 gold Alf blushes when he realizes how much money he has. Quote

Xarrzan Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Sarick hurridly weaves his way through the crowd. He spotted the magic cart and headed straight for it. There were many patrons purchasing goods so he patiently waited his turn. While Sarick waited he weighed his options. The weapon he already knew he wanted, but the scrolls, this was a tough decision. Which one he chose could cause great success or failure in his first quest. It was finally his turn in line. "Hello again Elphaba. I have made my decision. I would like one Healing Staff and one Scroll of Confision. Each item is lisssted at a cossst of 50gold." Sarick hands over a pouch containing 100 gold and retrieves his items. "Thank you" Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Thothwick wondered around the market place for the first time in his career as a hero. A blacksmith's stall grabbed his eye, and Thothwick went over to talk to him. "Good morning shop-keep. I'd like to sell my Bronze Sword for 15 gold. Now, wait a moment..." Thothwick took out a piece of paper, and wrote down the sums in an effort to speed up the process. "This should take me up to... 202 gold. I'd also like to have my Shuriken upgraded from WP:3 to WP:5, which should cost me 90 gold. I'd also like you to upgrade my Wipe to WP:4. This should cost me 130 gold, leaving me with..." Thothwick reached for the paper again, but was stopped by Anwyl. "72 Gold!" Whilst waiting for his weapons to be upgraded, visited a Gnome's shack of gold. "I'd like to buy a bedroll, my good sir. It appears one might be useful on future Quests. That would leave me with 67 gold." Quote
Sisco Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Walking into the marketplace, Jess sold her Sword of Power (WP: 6) for 30 gold, bringing her total to 444. She then walked over to Elphaba's Magic Wagon. "Hi there! I'd like a ruby, please." Jess forked over 100 gold, bringing her total to 344. Jess then walked to Anwyl's smithy. "Hello again, Anwyl! Great to see you again. I want this ruby imbued into Blohdhurm, then I want the sword brought up to a power of 8." Jess waited a while, then received Blohdhurm. The sword was beautiful, with a ruby in the hilt. A fiery glow surrounded it. Blohdhurm even seemed lighter. Jess then forked over 260 gold for the operation (50+60+70+80=260), leaving her with 84 gold to keep for another day. Quote
JimBee Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hybros walks to the marketplace, starting with 211 gold. Before he does any shopping, he posts a bulletin: To anyone who would like to build a Skeleton Decoy,I am selling a bone for 5 gold. The imp then travels to Anwyl's. I would like to exchange this Shuriken for a Throwing Knife of the same power. Anwyl agrees, then switches the two weapons for no charge. Hybros also sells his Mockthril Longsword (WP: 4) for 20 gold. Now with 231 gold, Hybros finishes at Portia's Potion Shack, eyeing the new items. He purchases 3 Nostrums, 3 Meads, and 1 Smelling Salts for a total of 110 gold. The imp departs, with a heavy inventory and a lighter coin pouch containing 121 gold. Quote
Peanuts Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 After visiting Heroica Hall, Henry saunters over the market place. Finally, he decides selling his old sword, since the rapier he owns is much better anyway. So, now he owns 230 gold + 15 gold = 245 gold. After that, he walks to Portia's shack, buying a fire bomb, a potion and some smelling salts, now having 245-20-10-5=210 gold. The he heads for Gnomeo, buying a telescope, now having 210-40=170 gold. Then he goes to Anwyl Smokebeard, where he upgrades his Rapier by two levels, now being WP: 9, and therefore spending all the money he got at the Arena Quest, and actually even more: 170-80-90=0 Satisfied he returnes to the Hall. Khorne Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Eric enters the Marketplace. Being already familiar with the place, he steps towards the Dwarf. Eric was loaded with weapons, but only one truly mattered to him. He took Godricsleif and handed it to the Dwarf. "This is truly a masterpiece" the Dwarf admiringly said "I would like to see it improved." "No problem, my dear man! For I am Anwyl, finest blacksmith in all Eubric!" Anwyl stated, full of himself. Eric pays Anwyl 150 gold (70 + 80), which leaves him with 143 gold. Not needing the Club anymore, Eric decides to sell it off. He offers it up to the blacksmith, who is willing to pay 20 (40:2) for it. Eric agrees and receives 20 gold. He now has 163 gold. This leaves the Nord with Godricsleif and the Sword of Courage. Even though the blade in masterfully crafted by a Norse smith, Eric decides to part with it, as well. Eric didn't need the a Sword of Courage to be courageous. Maybe some wannabe Hero or adventurer would be more interested in the blade. The Nord received a generous 35 gold from the Dwarf. Happy, Eric leaves the blacksmith with 178 gold in his pocket. Strolling through the market, the warrior notices a new shop. It looked dubious, but he decided to check it out anyway. Upon arrival Eric was slightly surprised to discover the vendor was a green woman, but not Orcish. The Nord gazed upon her wares, keenly interested. Apparently the woman would still for only a month, so one had to do his shopping fast. Eric eyed the Ruby, enabling Fire spells. Not wanting to disturb the spirit of his sword, though, he went on to buy the Opal, used for Icy spells. He paid 100 and left (with 78 gold left). He quickly returned to the smithy and merged the gem with Godricsleif for 50 gold. He now has 28 gold left Quote
Sisco Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Jess walked back to the marketplace, realizing that she didn't need the tonic that was lingering in her pack. "Here you go, Portia. I'd like 7 gold for this tonic, please." "'Course, sweety. Here you go! Would you like anything else?" "Yes, I think I'll sell two of my fire bombs for 10 gold, if you'd like them." "Okie dokie, here you go. Can I interest you in a nostrum or smelling salts?" "You know what, sure, I'll take a vial of smelling salts. I'd also like two remedies, while I'm at it." Jess handed over 40 gold for the goods, and left with 61 gold in her pouch. (84+7=91, 91+10=101, 101-20= 81, 81-10=71, 71-10=61.) Quote

CMP Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) Atramor chuckles at his fellow former Questmates, already ahead of him. "Spending that gold well, I see," he chuckles to McCafferey, who gives a nervous flutter as he passes a waxen-face old witch in a cart. He blinks, and walks up. "Uh..." "What? What is it?" "Hmmm...is that an Aquamarine? I'll take that...oh, and this Spell of Sealing too." he mutters, handing Elphaba 140 gold and 2 bones. A plan begins forming in his head as he clutches the gem. He returns to Gnomeo's told shed, who grumbles noticeably. Before he can open his mouth, Atramor speaks, tossing him back his Magic Compass. "25 gold and you don't have to talk to 'yeh big person and poultry'." Gnomeo simply grumbles again into his beard, handing Atramor 25 gold. He NOW heads to Anwyl's blacksmith shop, the heat of which seems to annoy McCafferey, bawking the whole while. "Ah, good. I need this," he begins, handing the 'dwarf' his Glass Dagger. "...imbued with THIS..." he finishes, handing him the Aquamarine, not to mention the Writ of Blacksmith Service, and the 50 coins for the imbuement. After a few minutes, a glittering dagger, made entirely of Aquamarine, with a Grand Potion in the hilt, and a weapon power of six, is handed back to the awe-struck rogue, who rushes off to the hall to show off the piece of jewelry weaponry, a paltry 8 coins in his pocket. (Lemme make sure I've got all this right... 173 + 10 for bones, + 25 for compass = 208, - 100 for gem, - 50 for scroll, - 50 for weapon imbuement = 8 coins.)
