Benji goes and buys a Fauxthril Shield from Anwyl's Smithy for 50 gold.

830-50=780 gold remaining

Benji then goes to the magic wagon, and spends half of his savings on gems. He buys an emerald, garnet, ruby, and sapphire, for a total of 400 gold.

780-400=380 gold remaining

"Thanks." Benji grunts.

Benji returns to Anwyl carrying the gems.

Benji requests that the ruby and sapphire be merged with his crossbow, and that his diamond unmerged from the crossbow. The services cost a total of 150 gold.

380-150=230 gold remaining

Amma approaches Faboulos Fabian's store next. She is stunned by the variety of clothes, the elf offers. Some useful pieces here, I think. This hat an these ropes look very nice and have nce effects. But too expensive for her. So she leaves the store right in the moment that Fabian ran outside starting to praise his goods.

Come back soon, Sir! It would be a pleasure to be at your service next time.", he yells after her.

Hoke enters the Marketplace after resting at the Hall from his long travels. He has a few items he has lugged around that no longer serve a purpose and wants prepare for a possible future quest:

"Greetings good Gnomeo. Would you care to purchase this tool from me?"

Hoke hands Gnomeo a TELESCOPE and receives 20 gold pieces in return.

79 + 20 = 99

"Thank you so kindly."

Hoke leaves Gnomeo and heads to Anwyl, hoping to catch the city's smith before he closes his shop.

"Greeting to you Anwyl, I have these two weapons that I do not use. Would you be interested?"

Hoke hands Anwyl the AXE (WP:7, suitable to Berserkers) and RUSTED SWORD (WP: 5, Badly Poisoned effect, 3/3 uses left) and receives 60 gold.

99 + 60 = 159

"Many thanks and a good eve to you."

As he turns to leave Anwyl, a crisp autumn breeze carriers a lazily swirling leaf in front of Hoke. His eyes trail the flight and see the leaf land against a bespoked wagon wheel. Elphaba! The autumn witch was once again in the Marketplace! Hoke jingled his recently filled coin pouch and headed over to the colorful wagon.

"A fine eve to you lady Elphaba. Perhaps you can provide me a gem to enhance my abilities."

The green witch's eyes narrow slightly as the corners of her black lips curl into a knowing grin.

Hoke places 75 gold coins, 1 SKELETON DECOY (10 gold) and 3 BONES (5 gold) on the wagon's counter and receives a DIAMONd.

159 - 75 = 84

"Many thanks my lady. May your time here be spent well and in good company"

Hoke checks the contents of his coin pouch and sees he almost has enough for another gem. Perhaps he will return for a few more business transactions soon.

(If any of that is erroneous in any way, shape, form, or fashion, please let me know, and I will correct it asap. Thanks.)

Thormanil approaches Portia's shack and sells a Phoenix Essence(25) and Remedy(5) for 30 gold. With 254 gold now in his pocket, he walks over to Elphaba's wagon and purchases an Amethyst(100), an Opal(100) and a Scroll of Sealing(50), leaving him with a meager 4 coins.

Right next to Fabian's store, Amma finds Elphaba's Wagon. "Finally someone who knows about the important things of life!" Amma shouts. She looks over the offer.

"Be welcomed Master...?!"

"I am Stigveladi Kötturin, a dwarven mage that lived near the forests or a long time. But you may call me Amma, sister, as long as you tell nobody. I did not hear that name for years now.

I teached myself a lot of things during that time. I know how to use this Opal for example. But you have so many things here, so many gems, so many scrolls. Do you know how to use all of them?"

"Yes of course", Elphaba smiles wisely "And I can teach you how to use them! But you will have to pay for it!"

"I will! But I have to earn some gold first. I will come to you, when you are here next time!"

"See you then!"

OoC : color coding and last part will follow!

Edit:

Finally Amma approaches ANWYL SMOKEBEARD'S SMITHY. She sees the bearded man praising his weapons. "Did you just say these were Dwarven made weapons?"

Anwyl sees that he is talking to an actual dwarf. He becomes uncomfortable bit decides to keep his bluff up. "Eeehh yes of course. Dwarven made weapons are the best. You will have a lot pleasure with them.", he stumbles. Amma becomes annoyed. "Are you kidding me?" "No, no. Not at all. Do you think I am too tall for being a dwarf? You are right. There are not many dwarfs that are tall like me." Sweat appears on his forehead.

"You are not a dwarf, no matter what you tell me. And this shit you are doing here, is betrayal. I will never buy a weapon from you, that for sure. "

Amma leaves the Marketplace in rage.

Feeling the wind's whispering chill bite a bit deeper while walking around the Marketplace, Hoke realizes that Elphaba's time to leave is drawing near. Searching his pack, Hoke gathers a few more items he can do without and heads to the appropriate vendors.

"Good eve my lady Portia. Perhaps you would like to refresh your stock with these items."

Hoke hands Portia 2 POTIONS and receives 5 gold pieces.

84 + 5 = 89

"Mayhaps you would like to purchase this item back good Gnomeo."

Hoke hands Gnomeo 1 MAGNIFYING GLASS and receives 15 gold pieces.

89 + 15 = 104

Hoke makes all haste to where Elphaba's colorful wagon was in hopes the witch is still in Eurobric. He breathes a sign of relief as he sees the soft lantern light glowing around the witch's wagon.

"I am so glad that we could meet once again. Another of your gems if you would be so kind my lady."

Hoke hands Elphaba 100 gold pieces and receives a RUBY.

104 - 100 = 4.

Hoke heads back to the Hall for the evening with a lighter coin pouch but an expanded gem collection.

Atramor blinked at the rickety cart parked in the marketplace. He'd remembered Elphaba coming several months ago, thinking how strange witches were. How things had changed. With a chuckle, he walked to Anwyl's blacksmith shop, handing over the Silver Longsword. To his surprise, the 'dwarf' piped up through his faintly smoking beard.

"This is a good sword. Fine silver, nice edge, good etchings. Give you 80 coins for it."

He took the offer without question, now with 126 gold in hand, then returned to the hall, though through a different entrance...

Skrall Strode up to Fabian's Fantabulous Fashion and located the owner.

"Mornin' my good elf, I'm interested in gettin' an appraisal on this here hood of mine." Skrall pulls the Pseudo's Hood from his satchel.

"It's foreign in make, comes from Strivvi, and grants the wearer effectiveness against those pesky undead chaps. From yer vast experience, what would ya say an article of this nature is worth?"

"Tell ya what, ya think over it, consult any of yer colleagues and I'll be back a little later." Skrall left the hood and proceeded back to the hall.

"It's foreign in make, comes from Strivvi, and grants the wearer effectiveness against those pesky undead chaps. From yer vast experience, what would ya say an article of this nature is worth?"

Fabian's eyes light up as he sees the foreign hood made from luxurious silk.

"Ooh, this one's a true treasure, Mr. Skrall! I will offer you 75 gold for this beauty. Do we have a deal?"

Posted

Before Skrall had made his exit, the Elf had named his price in a flash.

"Ya have a deal, I was just thinkin' that would be about right, as one of those gems plus an imbuement costs nearly 150 Gold, if one wants to be effective against the undead." Skrall accepted the gold (+75 Gold) and continued on towards the Hall.

After Skrall had entered the hall 75 coins richer for a hood he'd considered to be not much use, Atramor couldn't help but sate his curiosity, especially because Elphaba was sure to be leaving soon. Approaching the odd elf, he held the Ratmancer's Cowl (double damage to Vermin) aloft.

"This worth anything? As much as it might suit me, I assume newer heroes would get more use out of it, seems like there are less and less rats in greater quests these days...in any case, I can take of vermin 'em no problem already, so this ain't much help to me."

Still marveling the craftsmanship of his newly-acquired hood, Fabian wrinkled his nose as the witch pushed something stinky under his nose.

"What is that filthy rag? Put it away, please! ...No, wait! On a closer look, it seems to be of some use. I will offer you 35 gold for it."

Posted (edited)

Atramor chuckled as Fabian caught a whiff of the dead orc and sea salt on the hood.

"Fair enough."

He handed over the hood, now with 161 coins. As tempting as a gem or scroll from Elphaba's was, his eyes drifted towards a shimmering White Cloak the elf had in stock. With a shrug, he left 60 coins on the counter, taking off his travel-worn black one and replacing it, feeling more durable already as he trekked back to the hall.

Nyx finds her way to the marketplace on her way back to the Hall, knowing Anwyl will melt down her Silver Mace for a fair price. She ambles over to the dwarf, and after watching him work for a while, coughs politely to attract his attention.

"Hello Anwyl, I have another weapon for you, if you'll take it?" she asks, smiling.

Anwyl draws breath over his teeth as he turns the Silver Mace over in his hands.

"Sheesh, well missy, this'll melt down nice it will, I'll give ya 80 gold fer it" Anwyl suggests with a glint in his eye.

"That'll do very nicely, Anwyl" Nyx replies with a grin and a wink as she pockets her 80 gold bringing her total up to 135 gold.

Having watched the dwarf run off to the smelter, Nyx next makes her way over to Elphaba and begins to browse her wares.

"Anything catch your eye there girly?" Elphaba asks, keen to make another sale.

"Well, now this is just so pretty, and sparkly!" Nyx replies, picking up a Diamond "and they do say that Diamonds are a girl's best friend" she adds with another grin. She hands over 100 gold to Elphaba, who chuckles merrily as she counts it into her strongbox, and Nyx makes her way back to Heroica Hall, admiring her new gem as she walks, and checking her coinpurse for her remaining 35 gold.

Portia couldn't help herself when she saw Elphaba lifting her wares into her wagon, but walked over to the witch to gloat.

"Leaving so soon?" Portia remarked.

"As a matter of fact, yes. There are many other cities waiting for my arrival. A rolling stone gathers no moss."

Taking this as an insult, Portia got all flustered. "Speaking of mossy, have you checked yourself in the mirror lately? Why do you even come here twice a year, Elphaba? There's plenty of magic shops in Eubric already."

"I have made a pact with Heroica, the same as you. I'm obligated by the benevolence that the champions have shown towards me. What is your reason for staying here, from year to year, Portia?" The green-skinned witch smirked at the potion seller.

"I... I have a job here, and a home. I... like it here." Portia knew she was lying both to Elphaba and herself. But admitting she was jealous of the witch was the last thing she would do!

"Yes, this is a lovely city - if you ignore all the crime and poverty around here. But have you seen the golden domes of Salmanda? The soaring dragons of Drakencourt? The white walls of Strivvi? The great tower of Miranda? Have you travelled to the far ends of the world and back? If you want to, I can take you with me someday."

Shocked of the witch's offer, Portia took a few steps back. There was no chance in Portia's mind that Elphaba was being genuine. "Don't mock me, witch!"

Watching the potion merchant march back to her stall, Elphaba shrugged and finished loading her wares. Then she rode out of the Marketplace for another half a year.

"I'll take that Ratmancer's Cowl please!!" Benji shouts because he doesn't want anyone else to get it before. He tosses 70 gold to Fabian, leaving 60 gold for himself for future purchases.

He also sells his lightning bomb and his water bomb combined for 10 gold to himself, now having a total of 70 gold left.

IC: De'kra walked into the market, a lot older than when he had first stepped among the stalls. Walking with his 171 gold, he approached Fabian's Stall. After a quick debate, he sighed, and had his Reflective Gaunlets stripped of the Diamond for 50 gold. He disliked the light, hated it even. But he could not hurt Kapura and Chiara for this, especially if it didn't work out. And honestly, secretly, he wanted the back light more than anything in the world. He just...he really didn't know.

With the diamond in hand he went to the blacksmith. With a sigh he handed Kapura to the smith along with 80 gold. A little later Anwyl returned, with Kapura as a WP:8 weapon.

Now with 41 gold left, the echo bought one potion and a tonic. He was going to take this slow, no great rush into magic just yet. Remaining with 21 gold, he headed into the Hall of Heroica.

Arthur noticed De'kra leaving the Marketplace just as he himself entered. He considered stopping to talk to the echo, but decided to leave his diminuitive...ally...to his own thoughts.

Is he just that? Can he still be my friend, having Seen what I have seen of his fate? Arthur thought for a moment, and stared into his reflection in Roderick's sword. As per usual, the purple haze that covered it did not mask the string of death and destruction he saw playing across it--memories, he had come to realize, of every foe it had struck, every life it had ended. Something of the Valley still remained in it...something it was time to remove.

"Anwyl," he said, taking little notice of the smith's glum mood. "I need a gem out of a sword. Here's 50 Gold. Don't rush; I'll wait, I have...a lot to think about."

Arthur strolled through the Marketplace, his mind unsettled. He reached into his money-pouch, still brimming with coin, and let the coins slip through his fingers. He had everything he needed--save a few small supplies, but that could be easily remedied--he had completed another successful Quest, and would soon depart on another...so why did he feel so empty? The Hall was filled with friends...so why did he not wish to talk to them?

"Here," a gruff but uncharacteristically gentle and sad voice said, "your purchase."

"Thanks, Anwyl. You're a good Friend of Heroica."

The 'dwarf' gave him a strange look. "Erm...so are you, I guess." As the blacksmith walked back to his shop, Arthur watched him go.

Am I? Arthur stared back to the Hall, thinking of Atramor, De'kra, Byblos...and the friends he'd almost had, but lost: Isabella. Cronk. Haldor. Maybe even Skrall, if the ogre had learned of his past; it was right there in the Library, after all. So few friends...so many ways I could lose them...

A man, unfamiliar to Arthur, stepped up beside him, his face obscured by his messy orange hair and dark cloak. "You seem to be troubled. How may this humble Cleric aid you?"

"I simply question myself...my path...I wonder if my destiny is worth the friendships I will lose."

"But will you lose them at all? There are many in this city with dark fates, and not all walk alone."

Arthur thought of Jules, and his place aboard the Magpie. "Yes...you are right. Thank you, stranger. You have done Eubric and Heroica a great service."

Arthur walked back to the Hall, unaware of the mysterious man watching him. Slowly, once Arthur was out of sight, he removed his hood.

After returning from the docks, Thalion walked to the marketplace. He stopped at Portia's Shack, "Would you be interested in these?" He gives her a Fire Bomb and an Ice Bomb and receives 10 gold: 79 + 10 = 89 gold.

He then walks to Anwyl's Smithy, "Good day sir. How much can I get for this dagger?" He hands his Dagger (WP: 3) to blacksmith and receives 15 gold: 89 + 15 = 104 gold.

Thalion bows, "Thank you." With this done, Thalion returns to the Hall.

Alexander enters in the Marketplace for his first time and make a "recoinassance" in the place. He seems very interested by the Anwyl Smokebeard's Smithy and he approaces to the smithy. "Hello man, you have very interesting material. I'd like to buy the Fauxthril Crossbow and therefore I sell my old bow. Then I have this Amethyst, beautiful gem, and I'd like to imbue it in my new bow. In the end, I spent 50 gold for the Fauxthrill Crossbow, 50 gold to imbue my gem and I earned 15 gold for my old bow (131-50-50+15=46 gold). Thank you and good work."
