Exiting the Bonaparte mansion, Eric bade farewell to his former companions and parted. He wandered through the many dark alleyways and roads of Eubric and sought his way towards the market. The city was crowded as always. At first, Eric enjoyed being alone once more, but quickly dark thoughts invaded his tranquil mind. He wanted to grab another of those rum bottles he had taken off the pirates, but then remembered he had smashed the last one. "I've got to buy me some mead" he thought and quickened his pace.

The people in the bustling streets were in shock as Eric pushed his way to the crowd. Most often, they'd mind their own business, but it is kind of hard not to notice a towering Norse fellow, especially one whose clothes were as ragged and whose face and hands were as bloodied as Eric's were. It took a while before the Barbarian noticed the inquisitive looks, though. The fact he looked kind of off in a rather peaceful trading port city didn't really cross his mind untill he noticed his reflection in a window. His face was badly bloodied, his arms covered in scars not yet fully healed. His hair was lanky and greasy due to the heavy battles fought. It too was covered in dirty cake of blood, soot and other filth. The Nord has lost his heavy fur cloak during the assault. His fur vest was ripped and torn, as was his mail hauberk. He had been dealt heavy blows by those scummy pirates.

Eric continued his path. He was one sorry Viking. Back at home his friends would have mocked him already for looking like the dog he was. It was a well-known fact that Vikings were vain people, combing their hair and washing themselves often. These practices were often the butt of jokes made by other peoples, but the Northerners didn't really mind. Eric decided he would do something about his filthy and ragged appearance as soon as he completed his other tasks. He patted his goldpurse, filled to the brim with coin. The Nord smirked.

As he stepped onto the marketplace, he headed towards Portia's shack right away.

"I'd like to sell you these exquisite perfumes, I have no need for them" Eric said. He had no idea he did have a use for them as he reeked of death and filth from miles far.

"Okay, then. If you're really, really sure, I'll take these off your hands" Portia doubtfully replied. "Anything else you'd like?"

"Yes, I'd like buy three bottles of mead and one dose of Smelling salts." Eric handed the seller 50 gold and left.

Eric received 50 gold (100-30-20).

He continued to Anwyl and sold his bedroll for 2 gold. The Nord looked at the Dwarf's wares to see if he sold any armor he liked. Unfortunately, the Dwarven blacksmith did not specialize in armor and had none for sale.

"Very well, then. Could you have a look at my weapons? I'd like them upgraded."

"No problem, whatever you say. It'll a take a while though" the blacksmith replied. He was visibly intimidated by Eric's appearance.

"I ain't got nothing but time" Eric replied as he put his weapons in Anwyl's care.

Eric upgrades Godricsleif to level 10 (-190) and Drengazuli Grom'Az to level 6 (-60).

He then left to look for a tailor and a bathing house. He wanted to replace his outfit with another of Northern origin, but unfortunately for him, there were no Northern tailors in Eubric. In fact, there were almost no Northern traders in all Eubric. Somewhat disappointed Eric continued to stroll through the big city, ocassionally drinking some of his mead.

She was going to tell him how he looked, but apparently he didn't care. As she arrived at the Marketplace she noticed Eric selling his "useless" perfume to Portia, and kinda felt sorry for the poor lady, and decided to buy some potions from her.

"Good afternoon Portia! I see that you have some interesting wares available today."

"Indeed I do darling. What interests you?"

"I believe I shall purchase 3 Mead, 2 Smelling Salts, 2 Nostrums, 10 Venoms, 1 lightning Bomb, and 1 holy bomb."

"Ok dearie, that will be a total of : 180 Gold"

Erdathcath hands her the Gold, and continues onto Anwyl's blacksmith shop.

"How can I help you today missie?"

Stopping first to retrieve some gold from his hiding place, Hybros headed to the marketplace to restock. He went to Portia's first, taking out his Hinckwell goods.

"Eheh, maybe you can find a use for these. How does 100 gold sound?"

"Ooh, yes thank you very much dearie!" she replied, handing over the gold, bringing Hybros up to 1,088. "And was there anything else that you'd like?".

Hybros then purchased 6 nostrums, meads, and smelling salts each, costing him 300 gold. He also bought 3 Grand Potions, 2 Holy Bombs, and a Phoenix Essence, totaling another 100 gold. He departed with 688 gold.

Hybros went to Anwyl's next, drawing his new Banana Bladerang.

"That's quite the weapon ye got there, little guy. Want me to sharpen it for ya?"

"Yes please."

Hybros waited patiently for the blacksmith to work on the Bladerang. He returned it at WP: 5 and the imp handed over 120 gold, leaving him with 568.

He then headed for a forested area, ready for some well-needed sleep.

Seeing that he was selected for a quest, Hoke made a quick dash to the Marketplace for some last minute supplies:

First, he wanted to pull the sapphire from Vintul. Hoke was torn by this decision, but he would rather have the gem available and the sword effective against all enemies. Secondly, Hoke upgraded his shield to SP 7:

229 - (50+60+70) = 119

Next, he stopped by Portia's for a few items: Sell: 1 Venom, Buy: 1 Remedy, 1 Grand Tonic, 1 Fire Bomb:

49 + 2 - (10+30+10) = 1

Hoke looked at his nearly empty pouch with a grin. At least he would be truly prepared this quest. He rushed off to join the group in their latest quest.

Haldor wanted some fresh air, so he decided to take a break from the stuffy comfort of the hall. The tall, now noticibly more muscular and well-built, Norseman ducked through one of the smaller back entrances. Haldor found himself in a tight backalley, the large buildings rising up into the sky and casting shadow over where he stood. Turning down a few other narrow streets, Haldor could have sword something was following him, but when he turned his head, he witnessed only a dark red blur flowing down and leaping onto a roof at lightning speed. How weird was that? It was probably just a trick of the light, or maybe it was- Haldor cut the though from his mind, it couldn't possibly be that, could it?

Now Haldor was near the marketplace, and it would be a good idea to stock up on some supplies for future quests. He felt slighly relieved when he stepped under one of the brightly coloured roofed stands, and turned to Miss Portia.

"Hello, comrade. I would like to buy a potion for health (-5 gold), and a encouraging mug of mead (-10 gold). It would make a change to be prepared in future. Ha."

Haldor handed over 15 gold for the supplies, leaving him with 98 gold.

Haldor smiled at the young Portia, and began making his way back to the safe hall with a lighter purse. With a sense of foreboding, he stepped back into the dank alleyways. Haldor walked quickly, and kept his rod over his shoulder, ready for anything. As he came closer to Heroica Hall, a whispering laughter seemed to emanate from the very walls of the small street. Haldor clutched his weapon with both hands now, his teeth were on edge. There was a rushing sound, then another fast blur. Just as Haldor began to steady himself in a battle stance, he realised, with a feeling of thankfullness, that he had bumped into the backdoor of the hall.

Haldor re-entered, but now was terribly sure that something was hiding in Eubric. In the backalleys, hiding, stalking, something really bad. And it seemed familiar.

The cobblestone pavement starts to rumble as a familiar black wagon rolls into the marketplace. It is vernal equinox, and with spring comes Elphaba and her mobile magic shoppe. Needless to say, most of the other merchants are not pleased to see her green face again. Portia hastily orders new items from the alchemists to lure in customers, but Gnomeo just settles for muttering. Anwyl, however, smiles under his bushy black beard. The long lonely winter is over, and he will have another month to spend with his beloved witch.

~Elphaba's Magic Wagon is now open to customers up until the 20th of April! Portia's Potion Shack now stocks Deadly Venoms, Soma and Floral Bombs, and the price of Mead, Smelling Salts and Nostrum have been increased.~

Haldor ran quickly to the marketplace, not wishing to be again harassed by the dark thing that couldn't be real. Could it?

Haldor arrived in the hubub of trading and wares being sold, and noticed that the unusual witch Elphaba had returned again. Haldor walked over and nervously purchased a Scroll of Blindness (-50 gold), leaving him with 38 gold.

He hurried on back to the hall before any nasty prescence could encounter or attack him.

"Hello Elphaba, I missed you last time but this time I'm going to relieve you of a Ruby (212-100=112) that'll be all for now, I'll probably be back though."

I enter the Marketplace having completed my quest for the Ziegfrieds, and approach Anwyl. I have my Scarab Shield Mythrilized, upgrading it to SP: 15. While he's doing that, I have Anwyl reshape it into a more traditional shape, emblazoned with a stag and more suitable for a Warden. (250-100=150)

Having returned to the hall, Skrall had stepped outside earlier to have his crossbow upgraded in the market place and had found one of the werehound children that played in the street to bear it there while he rested. He had sent along 100 Gold pieces and some smaller change for the child's trouble. Anwyl repaired the frayed cord and the scratches and dents that had been put into the weapon upgrading it to WP 10 for the price of 100 Gold leaving Skrall with naught but 8 gold coins in his satchel (108-100=8).

Eric had wandered the streets of Eubric for some time now, half-dazed by the continuous drinking of alcohol. He felt light-headed. Still, he was focused enough to have heard the rumour of the Witch's arrival. The mystical Elphaba, selling unique goods. He walked up to her cart and offered his bone. He received 5 gold, which is more than a usual seller would pay.

Eric then cast a look over at her other wares, mostly gems. He also recognized an Ether Core, the likes of which was used by the Ji'Pei to power their automatons.

The Nord was enthralled by the power with which the crystals were radiating. The Topaz, granting the control over Lightning, particularly caught his attention. How would it feel like to wield the power of a god? How would it feel to steal Torrik's gift? Alas, Eric was no mage and the only way he was able to use the gems would be to imbue them in his weapons. He made purchase and bought the Topaz. Eyeing the rest of the wagon, he also bought a Scroll of Sleep. He wasn't able to use it, nor did he understand any of the technicalities enscribed within, but maybe he could sell it later on, when Elphabe had left Eubric.

As Thormanil approaches Anwyl's shop, the blacksmith looks up and lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Back already, Mr. Nihai?"

"Yessir! I, well, this is a bit embarrassing, but I need you to make a few more adjustments to my axes."

"Your axes?! But I just worked on them yesterday! What could you possibly.."

Laying his axes on the table, he sketches a design out for Anywl

"Think you can manage something like that?"

"Course I can. But you know, you can't keep messing with these blades. Keep this up and eventually they're gonna wear out on you."

"I know, and I appreciate all yer work. I think I'll be stickin' with this new totem for awhile."

"You'd better be, boy. You'd better be."

Maurice walked over to the marketplace in the morning to stack up on useful items for his next quest. First he stopped at Portia's Potion Shack and bought a Phoenix Essence, a Water Bomb and two Fire Bombs for a total of 80 gold (50+10+20).

Then he visited Anwyl's smith.

"Could you please uppgrade my mace a little? And please remove the diamond when you are at it, I've come to realize that it was not the best use for it."

The tall dwarf did as told and Maurice paid him 100 gold (50+50) for his services and got back a WP:5 Mace and a Diamond.

Now he felt better prepared for whatever might happen on his next quest.

Maurice now have 180 less gold then when he came to the market, leaving him with 357 gold (537-180).

OOC: I know nothing of forging

IC: As De'kra entered the marketplace, he exchanged his piece of gold ore for 80 gold, bringing his total to 364 gold. The shade winced as he struggled against the gold's great weight, his movements more of a shuffle than a walk.

Gradually he lumbered over to the stand of Elphaba, and collapsed against a wheel. After a few minutes spent building up the strength and will, De'kra stood up, and exchanged 100 gold for one of the gleaming Rubies. The gem was warm to the touch, it's inner fire power just beneath the surface. There was something nostalgic about stones that grant it's ones great power, it reminded De'kra of home. Of course this gem won't transform his body and give him the active his latent elemental power, but it is the closest he had here. Now with 264 gold, the shade moved on to complete his task.

De'kra approached Anywl Smokebeard, who was smiling oddly beneath his beard. As the "dwarf" turned to face De'kra, the shade outlined the task at hand, handing in fifty gold, his writ of blacksmith service, and the ruby. Now down to 214 gold, De'kra watched as the blacksmith prepared to get to work.

Night fell upon the market as the forge of Anywl flared up, sparks of crimson flying from the flames into the sky. Beside the fire was De'kra's Fang Dagger, his oldest true weapon. He had neglected it over his adventures, relying on his stronger blades instead of the organic tool. That had been fine in the past, but his encounter with those wolves had changed that. He had been carrying around a chunk of a formerly living creature, and not even using it. That could not stand.

Grabbing the Fang Dagger in his tongs, Anywl plunged it into the vat above the flames. Metal laced itself into the bone, merging into it's cracks and weak spots. The "dwarf" pounded into the tool, merging the metal and bone. The Direwolf's tooth held firm, it's strong bony structure resisted the heat and molten metal with ease. As the fusion of metal and bone began to cool, Anywl began to shape the hilt, pounding and twist the metal into the ape-like design. As the weapon neared completion, the blacksmith fused to Ruby within the sword, completing the dagger.

De'kra dipped his head in thanks as he felt the blade. The fusion of elemental power, organic material, and metal felt beautiful to De'kra's touch. The dagger felt so much like home, like the people who lived there. He could hear the birdsongs in the forests, the sounds of waves crashing on the beach, and the scent of charred trees. This was home, or at least as he would get for now. As he held the blade outstretched De'kra glanced at the hilt design he had requested. It was carved in the image of one of the villagers back home, it's long arms forming the guard of the dagger. The hilt-figure had the mask of night vision, which glowed with the fire of a Ruby. As De'kra rubbed the blade slowly, the name of a villager rose to the surface of his mind. It was the only name he remembered from back home, and he had modeled the figure after those memories. With a seemingly slow slice, De'kra named the blade. "Kapura," he clicked, as the WP:5 Ruby infused blade spark with flames.

IC: Still weighted down with gold, De'kra walked over to Gnomeo's stall to get some more equipment. Putting forty gold on the table, the shade selected a shovel and a magnifying glass, before moving on. He still had 174 gold, which was quite a bit more than he needed.

Heading to Anywl once more, the shade glanced over the items available. He had plenty of blades already, but he wanted something else. De'kra already what advanced class he would become when he became level 15, ever since Quest 4 he had known. Perhaps it was time to prepare for that day. The shade handed the "dwarf" fifty pieces of gold, before selected one of the Fauxthril Hand Cannons. It was useless to him at the moment, but once he became n assassin, it would all be clear. The shade still didn't like the look of the device, but he knew it better than a bow. He couldn't remember seeing a true bow anywhere in his memories, but hand cannons he had seen plenty of. It was familiar at any rate. Now he was down to 124 gold, still a great deal of money.

Finally the shade stopped by Portia, and selected three potions, one remedy, one Phoenix Essence, one smoke bomb, an Ice Bomb, and a Water Bomb. De'kra handed in 100 gold, leaving him at a respectable 24 gold.
