Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Well, Mr. Elijah Timms, I must say I at least disagree with your choices of least successful in series 3 and 5, I really like the space alien and also the zookeeper... they might not be as good as the other ones but they're still pretty good in my opinion! No problem... this isn't a 'hey agree with me' kinda thread! It's more about 'hey what do you think?' Responses really speak to the diversity of our tastes in minifigs across the world, really. Quote
Stiel Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Gotta be the diver or the race car driver. Quote
Bounty Hunter Supreme Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) Series 1: Crash Test Dummy (by far) and Nurse Series 2: Lifeguard (worst Collectable Minifigure ever IMO) and Traffic Cop Series 3: Sumo Wrestler (not fat enough) and Pilot Series 4: Ice Skater (just don't like it for some reason) and Sailor Series 5: Male Snowboarder Guy (plain, boring filler figure IMO) and Cavewoman Edited September 4, 2011 by Bounty Hunter Supreme Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Here's my opinion: Series 1: Deep sea diver, no contest. Divers have been done in more then one form and I have an non-series 1 diver that looks almost exactly like him. series 2: I'd have to vote the poncho guy. He's kinda bland and doesn't really bring anything exciting to the party. Series 3: Pilot. Pilots of a similar style have shown up w/ the IJ line and it's kinda boring Series 4: I really don't see any ones that are that bad, but I DON'T care for the mad scientist hair do material. NOTE: I am NOT voting him as bad, only his hair do material Series 5: Dwarf, no contest. I've seen them b4 in other sets and he's not that special Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I like them all its so hard to choose maybe S3 Mummy when you look at the PQ ones or Racecar driver. I like them alot just not as much as some of the others. Quote
andhe Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Interesting to see peoples VERY different opinions. My least favourite would have to be S1 - Clown (what is up with his face?) S2 - Circus Master (what is up with his face?? and his white pants??) S3 - Race car driver (no new moulds), the mummy was also and odd choice following the much better PQ ones. S4 - Skater (snooze). S5 - SNOWBOARDER! BORING! Saying that, I have grudgingly collected them all, just to be complete! All time worst must be, due to lack of originality... race car driver. IMHO the best figs come with new moulds/parts or are from a yet unexplored theme (eg spartan). Quote
Ardelon Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 S1 - diver (nothing new or special about this fig, TLG could have put him in a normal town/city set), clown (the S5 clown was much better) S2 - traffic cop (nice accessories though), ringmaster (especially the face! ), karate guy (though the trophy sells it) S3 - racer, mummy (probably the least well done mummy between the studios one, the PQ ones and even the Adventurers one) S4 - werewolf (it’s just not the way I picture a werewolf; actually, I think the studios one was better), skater (he does add variety, there just isnt anything new or especially interesting about him) S5 - tough. Maybe the snowboarder for his blandness, but only if I had to make a choice. S6 - so far, statue of liberty (not sure what I would do with her. Nice hairpiece though, I agree with others who would like this piece in gold) Contrary to popular opinion, I kinda like the S1 crash test dummy for its uniqueness, and its versatility. You can use it a variety of town settings apart from its intended role - as a clothes mannequin, a practice dummy for martial artists, policemen, firemen (for fire drills), astronaut/pilot training and medical personel (as a CPR dummy), even as a scarecrow! I also like the S3 pilot for his vintage look the figure skater for the new parts, and the dwarf for the variety he brings. Generally I’m not too keen on the sports figs, but I do welcome their new accessories. Historical figs on the other hand - the more, the better! Quote
SFmuscle73 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Here’s a list of my least liked collectable minifigures: Series 1: Deep Sea Diver – I suppose I don’t like the blue & orange color combo. Maybe a different shade of blue would have improved my feelings toward him. Series 2: Witch – I think it’s the hat that I don’t like. If the hat had some printing on it like for the buckle, then she would have been redeemed for me. Series 3: Space Alien – I just don’t like the head mold. Series 4: Ice Skater – I generally don’t like LEGO cloth dresses. I would have preferred for it to be a standard leg print. If a person wanted to pose the ice skater, the cloth dress generally prohibits such movement. Series 5: Fitness Instructor – She gets two strikes from me. Strike 1: While I know she represents the colors from the 80’s, I wish they had found an ensemble of other 1980’s colors to use. Strike 2: If her hair color wasn’t a duplicate from the Series 2 Pop Star, I likely would have overlooked the torso colors. Series 6: Minotaur – I don’t generally dislike any minifigures from Series 6, but I think the head should have had additional printing. Series 7: Daredevil – I barely like the Series 3 Race Car Driver, and I like the Daredevil even less. What’s the point of either minifigure without their car, plane or motor bike (which their inclusions would not be expected in these small packs)? Series 8: Businessman – I also don’t generally dislike any minifigures from Series 8, I just think we have enough minifigures in suits already if pressed to pick one. Series 9: Roller Derby Girl – I guess I don’t like the blue & red color combo. Just like my Deep Sea Diver comment maybe a different shade of blue or red would have improved my feelings toward her. Series 10: Skydiver – I think he should have been doubled headed with a face expression before the jump and then the face expression after the jump as included. Series 11: Lady Robot – I just don’t see the point! Series 12: Swashbuckler – He’s too similar to the Series 4 Musketeer for my liking. Edited February 24, 2015 by SFmuscle73 Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Personally, I'd have to go with: Series 1: The Crash Test Dummy & The Diver Series 2: The Witch or the Weightlifter Series 3: The Sumo & The Space Alien Series 4 (In my opinion the strongest overall, hard to pick any): Maybe the Surfer Girl Series 5 (also hard to decide as I'm about to head out for them now): Maybe the Zookeeper All in all, I think we're seeing much stronger efforts in terms of each series as a whole-- earlier series always felt like there were 'filler figs,' like a music album with extra tracks just to make it seem more substantial. Which have I missed? Thoughts? Different strokes for different folks. Personally, I'm actually tickled by the very idea of a crash test dummy minifigure, and I'd rate the S1 Demolition Dummy more highly than either the S1 Cheerleader or the S2 Spartan Warrior, even though I have more of the latter two than I do of the Dummy. And the S5 Zookeeper is actually one of my favorite figures from that series. I think there are very few minifigures from any of these series that aren't really well done; it's more a matter of personal tastes, interests, usefulness, etc. But that's just me... Quote

telaruhn Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 My least favorite from each series: S1 - Cowboy S2 - Ringmaster S3 - Sumo Wrestler S4 - Werewolf S5 - Evil Dwarf S6 - Skater Girl S7 - Jungle Boy S8 - Fairy/Evil Robot S9 - Alien Avenger S10 - Motorcycle Mechanic S11 - Lady Robot S12 - Jester S13 - Lady Cyclops Quote
legofanatic12 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) S1 - None S2 - None S3 - Space Alien S4 - None of them S5 - None S6 - None S7 - None S8 - Red Cheerleader a.k.a Laughing Cheerleader S9 - None S10 - None S11 - None S12 - Fairytale Princess (The headgear and dress are interesting, but the face kinda similar to Pretzel Girl without freckles S13 - Lady Cyclops S14 - Rocker Monster Team GB - Brawny Boxer (Too expensive and hard to find) The LEGO Movie - Calamity Drone (They don't include her minigun, but they put rifle instead), Taco Tuesday Man. The Simpsons - Ralph Wiggum, Maggie Simpson (The one from the Simpsons House is better) The Simpsons Series 2 - Homer (His blue suit does not like Sunday's Best to me), Marge (No shoes and stockings), another Maggie, Edna Krappabel (Torso looks decent, but the legs looks weird), Patty (Pink skirt is interesting, but the legs looks weird), Selma (Same as Patty), Comic Book Guy (Looks skinny). MAB Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 My worst ones ... S1 - diver - bearing in mind this series was out at the same time as Atlantis, and the CMF got the worst diving gear. S2 - none, all fine S3 - tennis girl and baseball player - I'm not a fan of ball sports figures, especially as they don't even get the ball. S4 - possibly soccer player, although not as bad as above S5 - fitness instructor, for me this is the worst CMF ever produced S6 - none S7 - none, but close with the bride. There should have been a groom in the same series. If done now, he'd just be a top hat guy. But they both go a bit too close to regular city figures. S8 - none S9 - roller derby girl, I never use it and not very interesting parts for me S10 - none, but close with the baseball player (see S3 above) S11 - lady robot, just stupid design to me S12 - none S13 - samurai, lady cyclops, galaxy trooper, all because they are too similar to previous ones S14 - too early to say until I see them in hand, but probably rock monster, although I'll still get a few of him for parts Lego Movie - most of them: I only liked Shakespeare, Mrs Scratchen-Post, barista and panda suit - all for parts Team GB - none Simpsons - none, although I would have preferred different characters first time around, the ones they did were fine. If they miss out key characters though (Barney, Moe, Skinner), it will seem a loss. So for me, the worst series by far is The Lego Movie. Quote
Sven F Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 ser 1: I don't know, the space guy I guess. ser 2: snowboarder, not keen on the witch either. ser 3: race car driver, I have a box full of those from 90's sets and they are all the same. ser 4: i hate football, but i'll still go with the midget fisherman which is just silly and pointless ser 5: another snowboarder? and fisherman? ser 6: little dork with the honey jar ser 7: swimmer and the space armor guy ser 8: yet another snowboarder? ser 9: both space armor guys and cyclops ser 10: skydiver ser 11: climber and another space armor guy ser movie: mermaid, the rest have usable parts when you take the robot heads off ser 12: I really despise those space trooper, armor things. ser 13: female cyclops, even worse than the first one. egg roller Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 There are a bunch of interesting figs, obviously, and many that I don't like others do. I'll make my picks with a mix of my dislikes with sorta consensus dislikes. Series 1: Demo dummy Series 2: Weightlifter and Cop. How many cops do we need??!!!! There are so many $%#$%#@$@ cops made it's unfathomable to me. And the kicker is, if I don't feel the bags, I always get them >:( Series 3: Snowboarder and stereotype tribal chief Series 4: Hockey player.. poorly done. Also, what's the beef with the soccer player? Series 5: Zookeeper. I don't think it could be more bland. Series 6: Classic alien Series 7: Nothing horrible in this series Series 8: Skier, Cheerleader, Fairy. Another skier? These are uninspired Series 9: Cop AGAIN! Series 10: SKYDIVER! Useless. and paintballer Series 11: Cop AGAIN! Series 12: Prospector Series 13: Lady Cyclops! There you have it. Please Lego, can we have a couple more cop variants? Quote
