Least Successful Collectable Minifig

For me the disappointing figures were:

Series 1: Robot & Diver

Series 2: Witch

Series 3: Cyborg & Alien

Series 4: Figure skater

Series 5: Drag Queen Cleo

Series 2: Motorcycle cop.

Series 3: Race car driver or Pilot

Series 4: Skateboarder

Series 5: Snowboarder

So, looking at the votes above, it's looking like:

Series 1: Diver (Crash Test Dummy a close 2nd)

Series 2: Ringmaster, far and away

Series 3: Race Car Driver (Pilot a close 2nd)

Series 4: Skateboarder (Ice Skater and Surfer Girl not far behind)

Series 5: Fitness Instructor, the clear least favored!

I'm kinda glad no one was showing hate for one of my favorites, The Mime. I really enjoy this fella, and have 4 of them in which they've been dubbed "The Mime Syndicate" for scenes I put them in.

One in particular is of them beating up The Rapper, which I titled the pic, " Silencing the Music "

My 2 least favorite are the race car driver and the alien. The race car driver was just too bland and the alien was just a big disapointment as I was wishing for a new head mold.

But to the credit of LEGO designers, it's not too hard to find qualities even to those 2 figs ;)

I think it could be just how specialized a figure it is, much like the Crash Test Dummy. While a lot more people make Town MOCs than make auto testing MOCs, and thus he has more versatile applications, his parts are mostly fairly specific to the mime aesthetic. Also, there's a number of people with whom mimes in general are unpopular, sort of like how a lot of people don't like clowns. It's a sort of uncanny-valley effect in real life that could have spilled over somewhat to the collectible minifigures.

It's interesting to see how diverse people's likes and dislikes are. Personally, I loved both the Race Car Driver and the S4 Street Skater, two of people's general least favorite figs. The Race Car Driver had heavy branding that made him a touch more realistic than most seen in various race themes, and his Octan-branded helmet is a work of art (I love all of LEGO's fictional companies and so forth, and love seeing their logos on things). The S4 Street Skater had a very unique look with a great face, a great board design, and an amazing hat.

Agreed. He also has a nice head and his hair adds some more colour diversity. The torso (with the switch to yellow hands) can work on a civilian, albeit one who is a racing enthusiast.

Agreed on the Street Skater. The head with the glasses is very versatile and the torso works well on civilians. Plus we got some nice dark tan legs, too.

Agreed-- I know we've had plenty of race car drivers before, but the printing on that guy was exceptional.

I agree that none of these figs are truly bad, but if I had to pick some, I would choose these:

S1: Diver - Yawn.

S2: Traffic Cop - As it says on the CMF website, Lego City is chock full of police stations as it is, and this guy has no new molds. A real missed opportunity to make an accurate traffic cop.

S3: Pilot - Again, nothing special. He looks like every other pilot from the Adventurers or City themes.

S4: Ice Skater - She's just not doing it for me, mostly because she isn't very versatile.

S5: Fitness Instructor - Looks just like the Pop Star, but is less versatile.

I wish people would stop badgering the poor crash test dummy . It's one of my favourite figures from series 1, and I think it's a brilliant idea executed well.

Series 1: Crash test dummy (too "bare") and Diver (we had a lot of divers over the last few years, this is one of them in slightly different colours).

Series 2: Traffic cop (ok, new look but we have tenths/hundreds of policemen) and explorer (I have some Adventurers sets, so there's nothing exciting to me)

Series 3: Sumo wrestler (CTD with a wig), Space alien and space villain (bo-ring).

Series 4: Maybe skater because we already had one, but it's not that bad.

Series 5: Detective (too similar to S2 Exploree), male snowboarder (female was enough).

Poor crashtest dummy,it is awesome! Skater from S4 is cool,just not needed...if you want a bad skater why don't you talk about S6 one? It's way worse then S4 one

S3-Racer- Say,we really need a racer to race is invisible car,don't we?

S4-Cross dresser Ice skater- That face gives me chills in the spine

S5-Gladiator- Can't we just have a Spartan? No,we also need that guy from Spartacus: Blood and arena

S6 (as far as the fig we know)- Pinknaut - ...you want somethingh to be female,MAKE IT PINK ...well at least it comes with a cool blonde hair,that is...

Like many others here, I like them all. If I had to pick my least favorite...

Series 1- Street Skater ( I prefer the series 4 one)

Series 2- Pop Singer

Series 3- Sumo Wrestler

Series 4- Soccer Player

Series 5- Aerobics Instructor

Regardless, they all have a place somewhere in Lego land.

Out of curiosity, did you ever end up seeing the real alien fig (with the correct torso)?

As others have said, they are all great in their own way but these are my least-favorite out of each set.

S1: Diver - Meh.

S2: Explorer - To me very boring and I have other figs with very similar designs already

S3: Alien (only fig in the whole line I don't like at all)- I dislike everything about this fig except the 3L bar

S4: Ice Skater - Really hate the hair and the skirt but the legs are useful

S5: Fitness Dancer - Would be better without the headband print on the head, but I might learn to love it

S6: Nothing so far ;)

In general, I can't help but notice that the least popular figs tend to be the ones with the least unique accessories. So, for instance, the S4 Monster, S3 Race Car Driver, S3 Sumo Wrestler, S3 Pilot, and S1 Crash Test Dummy all get a lot of hate.

If that were the case I would expect to see more of the sailors being less popular since it only comes with a basic accessory. I haven't skimmed through every post so maybe there was more hate for him, but I suppose he was unique enough in himself to not be less popular than some of the other figs.

I think the Demolition Dummy is cool, it's the least you can imagine to have a minifig.

The diver is just a bit dull.

S2 - Traffic Cop

and I got 3 of them !!

It would be better equipped with a more unique accessory than the magnifying glasses.

Fitness instructor is cute, although she looks like a sister from S2 - Pop Star

Well, Mr. Elijah Timms, I must say I at least disagree with your choices of least successful in series 3 and 5, I really like the space alien and also the zookeeper... they might not be as good as the other ones but they're still pretty good in my opinion!
