ak47 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) I've been pouring through MOCs online lately looking for inspiration and techniques for building mecha with System parts, and this is my first creation to really implement what I've learned. I designed this guy to look like a lazy/wacky/offbeat factory worker. After I complete this other project I'm working on I plan to order the parts I need to actually build this. I would appreciate any critiques and suggestions. Thanks for looking! System Droid Model A my photostream on flickr Edited August 15, 2011 by ak47 Quote
DLuders Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 @ ak47: Welcome to Eurobricks! Your droid makes good use of LDD's Hinge Tool. I can see that he's mighty fast! Quote
PerryMakes Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 This looks pretty awesome in the digital world. Very expressive with those articulations. The only problem(s) I see are the fragile arms. The leg joints may not have enough friction to carry the weight, but that's something you'll have to test with real parts ... unfortunately LDD is quite happy with letting you build models that are just simply not possible in the real world! ak47 Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 The arms SHOULD be ok, there are bars in there to hold everything in place. I'm a little concerned about the legs but yeah we'll just have to see as soon as I get the parts in. Thanks for the feedback! Quote
