Rangnarok Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Hi, please help move the topic if you think neccessary, but I couldn't find a better sub-forum to post this I have a problem and have not yet figured out a way to fix. I got Win 7 home premium 64bit. This problem does not occur on my Win XP 32-bit. Run it as admin or not did not help. Say I have a list of model files on the PC. LDD is not open. 1. I double click on the first file, LDD opens up nicely 2. I double click on the second file, there's an error "Can not access LDD assets. Try reload LDD, reinstall, read instruction or goto xxx(website)" The problem occurs because when I tried to open the second model file, it tries to run another instance of LDD to view, instead of just opening it in the already open LDD. I know this because, if I manually try to run the LDD.exe file when LDD is already open, it gives me the same error. I just wonder if any of you here has encountered this and maybe has a fix? Thank you, Quote
DLuders Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) @ Rangnarok: Welcome to Eurobricks! What you want to do is IMPORT the second model into your already-opened LDD program. Just press the File-->Import Model sequence of commands at the top-left corner of the LDD screen. I'm fairly sure that you can only run one LDD program at a time. Calabar Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I've not understood if he want the second file opens a second instance of LDD or open the second model in the already running LDD. Quote
Rangnarok Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Hi, Many thanks for trying to help. What I wanted is that when i double click a file from the File explorer, it will just open in the already-run instance of LDD. However, it has now worked as I wanted. Don't know what happened for sure, but perhaps LDD needed a computer reboot to be registered properly in the system. Thank you for offering to help though. Quote
