You guys gave up a chance for experience when you had a Hero ONE experience gain away from making Level 15. Bad party! :hmpf_bad::tongue:

Should've just killed Sancho for his bow, who cares about who ACTUALLY turned Merlyn into a frog? :poke:

Nah, I don't mind... :classic: I liked #57 the way it was, and how it ended; or not ended whichever you prefer. Not only does it give an opportunity for a follow-up (sort of Who-framed-Roger-Rabbit guest, where the Z. family investigates their sons shapeshifting), but also an opportunity for other heroes to gain Ziegfried reputation. Note to Flare: It's a chance for you to make a new Wren, out of the actual culprit... :poke:

P.S. I would like to know the other item Sancho had, but I do believe we should have known that (and his exact stats) when I first scanned him. <- A reference for future usage of Cloak of Espionage, I do believe we should know all the stats of the person/s we are scanning, as it helps decide weather or not we want a fight... Sandy, feel free to jump in and clarify this... :classic:

I'm not a kill for loot sort of guy.

I was waiting for your commentary before I posted, Flare, but here I go!

Short quest, lots of fun, great characters. Wonderful pictures! Pacing was mostly great, some pauses but never unnecessary, I never felt like you were doing us a disservice when the quest happened to not continue. I liked the length! Boomingham had fun with mages and I was happy to get a chance to meet some of the "younger" heroes.

The Sorrow side-quest seemed indulgent and held the rest of us up. Not my style, but to each his own, and it didn't take too much time.

Thank you so much for a fun, simple, quick quest that kept me on my toes!

I agree, it's a rare item as it is, and it loses its value if QMs try to circumvent it. That's true of several items/immunities, actually. Challenge us, to be sure, but don't take the easy way out by circumventing our abilities; make us use those abilities in unconventional ways.

EDIT: Or at least, if you DO have to circumvent them (i.e. a Telescope not being able to see a fleeing "mysterious figure"), just tell us straight up "I'm circumventing this for the sake of the plot". Be straight with us, and we'll be (mostly) happy.

I know there are plenty friendly rivalries in Heroica, but lets try to keep them that way, shall we? Suddenly throwing me (Why only me, by the way? Couldn't another random hero have gone?) into an impossible boss fight is not the way to do it... I don't want to see a cycle of revenges beginning in Heroica. :sceptic: I didn't even do a bloody thing to you anyway!

Yeah, I have to agree with Zepher on this. You picked on one Hero, took his items, and delayed the rest of the party, without even giving him a way to skip the experience. Protip: NEVER take things from your players without giving them the chance to turn around and not give them up. Players should CHOOSE to stake their items, it shouldn't be FORCED on them against their will.

Note that gold is not included in this (that operates on different rules), but that's still dangerous ground to tread.

If you want to get "revenge" on a QM's Hero, fit it naturally into your Quest, or else don't bother. Never do it for the sake of doing it. And even then it should be fair. No smiley, I'm serious here.

To be fair, Flare did drop the stakes a bit. Originally it was going to be half of my stuff - it dropped to some consumables I used in battle, some Jinxy Juices, and a really nerfed-down Golden Venom. It went from a haymaker to the gut to a slap, so for that I am thankful.

I already grilled Flare on this enough though in PM.

To be even fairer, I must take some responsibility. I designed and made the stats of pretty much everything in the battle. (Though I had no clue about the items on the line, or his consumables being taken. [?])

Lovely quest Flare, the builds were excellent, the characters memorable, the timing upbeat, and the plot nice and tidy. As QM to QM I have to say that the side quest was not necessary and borders from an outside readers perspective on vengeful. Yes we all have our friendly rivalries, but those should NEVER play themselves out cross quest. Side quests should nearly always be conditional, if they happen, it is of the players own choosing to participate not because they were forced to participate, otherwise it would be the same as randomly selecting a hero out of the hall and forcing them to do battle out of the blue with consequences. Steer clear of those types of scenarios in the future and I'm sure we'll see many more great quests from you.

About the side-quest: I intended on it being just a little bit of fun, but I realized a little bit too late that it was really just being unfair... So I apologize again to Endgame, and want to recommend to any other inexperienced QMs not to make my mistake.

And Capn, I'm never listenening to you again for advice on my quests

Thanks you Flare for hosting this quest that I really enjoy; I really like the idea of the search for the frog and I think that the battle were very well balanced. There is any possibilities to know what had Sancho in his inventory and what his the misterious man with the cape??

Thanks again for hosting and thanks to my quest's companion too

I guess I foegot to comment about mt questees

Anyways, all of you were great players and I really enjoyed learning more about each hero's lifestyle and behavior by interacting with them. So yeah

Sancho had some needles with him, some with a green liquid. The others with red. Overall four, two of each colors. If you had challenged him he would've injected the red one (steroids preaumably) in his arm and attacked the heroes.

Great job with hosting quest 61, Kintobor!! Personally I found it an excellent quest with great puzzles and puns. An excellent first quest.

I have only one negative. It seemed to me that you were really trying to hold back on giving the heroes much loot. Except a couple unique items, there wasn't a large amount of loot compared to the amount of the enemies they fought. Even the reward seemwd wimpy. 70 gold per hero? Thats a really small amount of gold for a quest reward, especially when the heroes didn't get to earn any gold during the quest. For your next quest, I would recommend not being too stingy with your loot, unless you want no one to sign up to your quests

But still, an excellent quest. At least there was no newtity

Newtity makes everything better! :poke: (and you're one to talk. your quest was about a kid turned into a frog. He can use Karie's scroll, by the way .)

Anyways, excellent Quest Kintobor! This is one of the ones I followed. The plot was easy to follow (unlike mine it would appear. :cry_sad: ), the fights were well balanced, and the puns were delicious. As were the characters. The three skeletons were a crack-up! Great Job!

Seems like Amma is very "lucky" in finding these quests.

I have a lot to say (nearly 100% positive) but no time. That's why: Thank you! It was a great quest and I enjoyed it a lot. One of my alltime favorite.

I agree with most of the assessments thus far. While I would have liked a bit more gold, specifically enough to buy a gemstone, there were enough battles in the quest that I felt XP was a part of the loot. I also appreciated that the puzzles were not random chance as I had assumed they would be, but rather utilized an element of strategy. All in all, it was a solid quest and a lot of fun to participate in.

Right, time for my thoughts on Quest 61:

As a whole, the quest was to see if I could pull off doing the Heroica system, and I can thankfully say: yes. The battles, slowly got harder as I became aware of the damage you guys were dishing out, as well as the amount of devilish stuff I could throw at you. (Spike doesn't count! If Spike taught me anything, it's to use physical dice!), especially the battle against the Shadows and the Spooky Spectres. As for next time, I do intend to throw more loot at the party, but seeing how most of you are now up 6 levels, I hope it's at least somewhat of an alternative for that.

As many people found out, the quest was light-hearted in tone, manly due to the fact that a few people in the group were on 56, possibly one of the most diabolical quests to throw at a group of new players to date. There was some spooky stuff going on, particularly with the Shadows, but I thought that making the ghosts more comedic would make for a more entertaining quest.

The characters for me were the highlight, in particular Scary, Jerry, and Thomas Jefferson (whose actually a reference to Earthbound. "I'm Pinto!" "I'm Panto!" "I'm Thomas Jefferson!", or something along those lines) I originally intended to kill off Geoffrey, Gus and Ivan, but after the fun I had with them, I decided to keep them around. I don't think Heroica's seen the last of them, so its simply a matter of time until a party runs into them again. As for a sequel, I have a solid idea for one, but I think I'm going to hold off on it. I have another idea for a story arc that I think would cause quite the intrigue with many players, especially Endgame.

Players: I freaking love you guys!

Amma: Despite dropping out as party leader, when you were you did an excellent job! I really like Amma's character, and I hope to see a quest with her and Karie on it. The cat was definitely intriguing, and I'm curious as to Amma's reason for banishment now after hearing some of that inner monologue of hers. As for what was in the crates, they were actually coffins! Coming from the perspective of a horse, (especially Derpsy  ) it wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a coffin and a crate. As well, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was a little worried was dragging for a little bit. Thank you for participating, and I would be more than thrilled to take you under m wing for a second quest!

Jeaux: It was an honour to have you on my quest, joeshmoe! I've always found Jeaux an interesting character, what with the amnesia and all. As well, special thanks for taking on the party leader position halfway through. You were active, and incredibly helpful! I'm still amazed at the amount of shields you rolled! Also, clever use of Animal Talk with the bat, I was lenient at first of letting you do it, but it felt in character, and I thought it was a clever use of your skill, so I let it slide. I think I noticed during the last battle I was slowly getting better at the roll calculations (I've always been terrible with math!) I hope you enjoy what you got, and I'm glad you enjoyed the quest.

Em: Once again, quiet, but not a bad thing. I like what I've seen of Em as chracter. Perhaps a wee bit of inner monologue, no matter how small, could help. I did enjoy having you on the quest, you were active, and I did enjoy the moments of character we did see, especially when you asked Jeaux if he wanted back up or not. That tells me Em has some sense of loyalty to him. I hope you enjoyed the quest, and I hope to see Em back on another quest in the near future!

Zoltan: Despite your hiccup at the beginning, I'm glad you were able to come on my quest! I have a few pointers to assist you though. When role playing, there was a moment or two when you said you'd leave the puzzle to the rest of the party. If puzzles aren't your thing, understandable, the puzzle aspects aren't for everyone. Instead, say you aren't good at puzzles, and role play with it. Perhaps Zoltan isn't simply good at puzzle! You did interact with NPC's from time to time, and you were active in combat. Not everyone's going to ace their first quest, so in my books you did a good job! Other than that, I enjoyed having you along, and I hope to see you again!

Heckz: Where do I even begin? Heckz almost stole the quest, to say the least! I really enjoy Heckz trying to pull off a split personality with his different voices, and failing miserably! I love his interactions with the party, and I love his interactions with the NPC's I sprinkled throughout the quest! I have nothing else to say but well done! You made me laugh on more than one occasion, and I hope to see you in the near future!

My next quest's working title is "A Secret Under Eubric", which is still in the pre-production phase. Until that time, keep up the good work, I hope to see some of you on one of my quests in the near future.

As much as I would enjoy taking credit for that, it didn't even occur to me until Eric Su mentioned it. It definitely made finding Spike quite a bit easier.

Kintober! Superb first quest. I followed it relatively well, and was impressed both by the players, and your hosting. Your battles were professional and quick, your story simple but still fun. I was a huge fan, and can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. I want to get hosted (and quest beside) some of the newer additions to the game, so hopefully we shall cross paths at some point.

As for LOOT - you gave an appropriate amount. People give out too much loot now. Read the beginning quests, see the drops then. You gave a very appropriate amount. A FEW unique items, some useful consumables, a dash of gold - that's all people should be dropping, and you did it perfectly!

I followed your Quest for the most part as well, Kintobor, and I really enjoyed reading it through it. Your characters are really fun. The players definitely were great as well. I'd say you did an awesome job. I think the loot was fine, and I disagree with Flare said. I don't think many people sign up for quests based on the expectations for loot they are going to get anyways. Cool!

Just read your next quest title too.

I think one of my quests will HAVE to feature building a support system under Eubric. There is so much down there.

Wolfgang. Temple of the Old Gods. Temple of Zoot. Sewers. The hide-out from Badger Badger Badger. A Dragon's Lair. Etc.

Yeah there's a lot. When it was announced there was going to be an unlimited quest. My first guess was that it would be a Tunnels Under Eubric kind of thing. There's a lot there, and a lot of potential as well.

I agree for the most part...however, I do think the final Quest reward was a little small. 100 gold would have been nice.

I'm glad you enjoyed the quest, to both Zepher and Scubacarrot! As for my next quest, I'm trying to keep things tight knit for now, but I'll say that it involves a new location under Eubric, one that has archaeological and historical importance to Olegia's history.

Nice job Kintobor. The quest was very enjoyable, especially 3 skeletons. Those guys were simply hillarious :grin: . Fights were very well done, also adding puzzles helped quest in variety.

Ooohh, Sorrow getting a chance to run into some fellow undead! :classic:

Initially, Kintobor, I had worried that 61 would be a bit too close to Quest 1... but suffice to say I was proven wrong quite quickly. You had quite anumber of memorable NPCs scattered about the graveyard, and puzzles of equal quality and variety scattered about as well. Your battles were well balanced as well, though I do agree the actual gold content was a bit low.

Excellent job.
