Endgame Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I raise an eyebrow and shrug at Lind's sudden aggressive nature, and choose not to press on any more. "Magic lizards then. A bit like dragons, maybe? I heard they're quite magical, although not all you can read about them are true..." *I absentmindedly extend my hand to the dwarf, before realizing I wasn't entirely sure whose hand I was shaking.* "...Your name would be... Throlar, yes?" Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 "Magic lizards then. A bit like dragons, maybe? I heard they're quite magical, although not all you can read about them are true..." "They were more along the build of were-lizards. The eyes they had...Ghastly. As wide across as my hand - staring back at you worse than what books' say giant spiders' do." Quote
Endgame Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 "Urgh, that does sound awful... You routed them out though, I hope. Me, I haven't quested in a long while. Slayed a dozen demon hordes, repelled an archdemon, and I've been out of action for a long time." Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 "Urgh, that does sound awful... You routed them out though, I hope. The Black Knight smirked. "You might say that their plan blew up in their faces.Above their faces, actually...Long story." Me, I haven't quested in a long while. Slayed a dozen demon hordes, repelled an archdemon, "Impressive, especially the arch-demon. Eight too many of those things out there." ...and I've been out of action for a long time." "Well, I'd normally say that there's no time to get back to work like the present, but that board is unpleasantly empty, so...No time like the indeterminate future?" Quote
Mencot Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) "Well I am, and you my find this hard to believe, the Titaanese ambassador to Eubric, and absolutely terrible at my job, though I haven't been doing much of that recently..." "Oh, sorry, where was I? Oh yes. Well, as I was saying, I had just arrived in this city, mistook the hall for the Eubric Embassy, and sort of got drawn into this life, and I'm absolutely terrible at this as well." The Munchkin saw the Undead enter, and sympathetically winced at the Assassin's painful condition. He stepped over to the bar where the Assassin had sat down. Keliim watched the Munchkin start talking to an unhealthy looking fellow at the bar, "That lad has seen some better days, Keliim thought to himself" and then looked at his mug of mead. It was empty, so Keliim also went over to the bar and ordered another mug of mead and some chicken drumsticks. Then turned to Throlar. "So Throlar, an ambassador, thats intresting. What kind of duties did thou have and what wete thy duties here?" Edited April 28, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Endgame Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 "I wouldn't worry, Lind. New quests appear like clockwork... sometimes there's a drought, sometimes there's more than the hall can handle." Quote

"Ech, I'm supposed to promote good relations between Titaan and Eubric, but so far noting has happened along those lines yet. admittedly some of the blame lies in my inaction, however some of it is certainly due to the fact that most of the big houses are completely ignoring us! A month or two back a shipment of Titaani weapons we sent to the Bonapartes was stolen from the warehouse it was stored in and they didn't even bother informing us! Harsh words were had I can tell you." Quote

Endgame Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) Several months ago, Lynne was enjoying a pleasant stroll through Triad park. The sun was shining, the birds chirping, the pleasant breeze rustling her jet black hair. Her staff tied to her hip, still content with her success in Dastan, she was immersing herself in Eubric's culture. Another group of heroes were not having nearly as nice of a day on that particular date. They were up North, in a castle of darkness, locked in battle with the villainous proprietor. One hero deals the killing blow, and the colossus succumbs to the pain and his new found mortality. With a sick pleasure, he allows himself to be cast to oblivion. His minions follow in his fatal footsteps. They topple like dominoes, their life fading, their minds crumbling, their bodies dissolving into nothing. His legions, some of his minions thousands of years old, crumbled to nothing. Despite her free will, she was still The Regret's. She takes one last step, and one last sharp breath. He brain shuts down, her heart stops, her blood dissolves to nothing. It happens so fast she feels no pain. Like a puppet with its strings cut, the poor girl crumples to the floor. It isn't until twelve hours later someone tries to help her. The town watch buries her into an unmarked grave shortly after. Lynne was no longer enjoying a pleasant stroll through Triad park. ----------------------------------------------------- The doors to the hall creak open slowly, the sound of someone very reluctant or perhaps very weak entering the hall. Or, in this person's case, very much both. The stench of dirt and cattle accompanies him, and the heroes with distinguished noses may notice he smells just like pig. Indeed, he was filling up the pig's food troughs one last time before he departed from home, his final chore before his career. He now found himself in Eubric, among a hall of heroes who have struck down great bests. The greatest beast he ever took down was a particularly large moth harassing the cattle. "I AM in the right place, right?" He goes and signs up for Quest 133, before taking a vacant seat, twiddling his thumbs nervously. A lot of the discord between the various populaces and ruling classes of Olegia comes from the fact that there's no way for the rulers to experience the troubles and issues that take place beyond the gates of their chambers and palaces, and there's no way for the populaces to inform them, other than by proxy messengers, who are always going to be biased one way or the other. Having a Hero that's also a member of a ruling class creates an excellent way to start recognizing those troubles and issues, at least in regards to Titaan. Maybe the idea'll spread to other realms as well." Quote
