Hello Master Germ, err Master Demon, Or perhaps .... Well first let us begin with what I should call you.

Germ is fine. You know what, I do not think you meet Warlen Melimane & Quarion. They can be a little "odd" but they are decent guys, of course they might say I could be a "jerk".

As he floated away, Quarion said:

"No, it's not closed."

As Germ approaches Warlen & Quarion with Vindsal in tow says: I think you guys should meet future Fields of Glory team mates. Edited by samuraiturtle

Warlen looked at Germ, then Nur, and said:

"Well, I'm in the middle of a talk, but you can join us! I was just going to tell Nur another story. Enjoy the ride, I'll introduce myself after."

"One time, we had to stay at an Inn for the night, as we journeyed to find a cure to my... condition, we met an unfriendly barman with disgusting stew." Warlen shivered. "After pacifying him, he agreed to let us stay if we would cast a spell to protect his Inn from a group marauding Orcs, Goblins and Giants." Warlen Grimaced at the giant. "No enemity harboured towards ya.

Well, he charged us 30 gold for the night, and let's just say that he probably regretted charging us so much. In fact, he lost his spell."

As as the story set in, Warlen Introduced himself.

"Warlen Melimane, Half-Elf, Half-Human, Half-Pure Funny. Oh wait, that's too many halves!" He grinned.

"This here skull is Quarion, AKA Q, by longtime companion and ridiculously smart dude."

"Hell-lo," murmured Quarion.

"Yes, please join us. Be sure to take advantage of the wonderful free food first." Nur briefly raised his drumstick to eye level before bringing it back down to his mouth. "What type of protection spell was it, invisibility? A barrier? Something else?"

Warlen racked his brain.

"Hold on... Lemme think."

A grin spread across his face.

"Oh yeah. He wanted any Non-Human, excluding Elves and Half elves, to be frozen in a block of ice while being burned from the inside out, if they came within the Inn. Heh. Within the Inn."

"That was the other reason we refused to do it," said Quarion.

"We needed money, but we weren't murderders... despite both of our historys."

After a while, the Necromancer pulled out what he was looking for and placed his Oculoid Claw on the table. Althior began to shift his gaze towards it. Finnegan saw this, and began to speak once more.

"I'm not sure that's the best idea-" Althior shifted his hard gaze to the aura and shot daggers at him. Finnegan quickly retracted his statement and sat back against the chair. Althior moved his gaze down back towards the claw as he began to examine it. It had been a year since they'd met, and Althior was still enthralled by these Oculoid creatures. Perhaps he saw a bit of himself in them, though he had denied it time and time again.

Miderun was just about the head out to find the marketplace when the strangest...weapon? caught her eye. She blinked, unsure if she was curious or mildly disgusted, walking over to the hollow-looking mage and the blue mist and nodding to the severed claw.

"What the hell is that thing?" she asked bluntly.

How can you be Half-Pure Funny? *huh* Of course I am Half-Demon, Half-Cat, and Half "something else"..."Human". :shrug_confused: Then shudder at the thought of being part "Human". Then wonders if he still has any "cat" elements left in him as he listens to the rest of the conversation.

"Yes, please join us. Be sure to take advantage of the wonderful free food first."

Thanks, I probably could get some thing to eat. Then checks out the "Menu for the Hall".

"What the hell is that thing?" she asked bluntly.

Althior looked up to the Orc for a brief moment before returning his gaze to the claw, "It's a severed claw from an Oculoid. Diseased little thing. Very infectious," Finnegan stated from across the table. "You want it?"

"Now, hold on a minute-" Althior snapped out of his trance quickly and glared towards Finnegan, who, in return, spoke again.

"I think you've been hung up on these things long enough," Finnegan slid the Claw over to the Orc. "How much you willing to pay for it?"

Miderun picked up the inky club, weighing it in her hands idly.

"Hundred fifty gold sound good? I'm used to more solid weapons...well, weapons that don't feel like they could melt at any second, anyway. But I can tell: I could do some damage with this."

Hybros entered the Hall after an eventful journey. He had a lot on his mind, and went to the bar to order a cup of tea. He took a seat while he waited and studied the wood of the bar surface.

"The thing it came off of did a lot of damage too. Very powerful weapon you have there, Have fun with it," He grabs the 150 gold before he shifts his cold gaze to the aura across the table. "Hell, I need another drink," He stand up, briskly, and makes his way to the bar as Finnegan remains silent at the table. He reaches past a pointed hat and digs his Metal Claw into the wood of the bar. "One more, please," He looks down to the creature stirring his tea and scoffs. "From the looks of it you'll end up needing a stronger drink than that,"

A peculiar looking man hobbles into Heroica Hall. His hair was unkept and his face covered in sweat, peasants clothes sloppily covering lab gear. Perhaps oddest of all was that he had only one arm, his left. The other was simply... missing.

He takes jaunty strides towards the Quest Board, looking at the list of names.

"...Hmmm."

Chosen Heroes for Quest #115:

Warlen Melimane (The Chosen Minifigure)

Zunde Xravia (Da Smash Bro)

Beneath the notice is a note, scrawled in horribly messy handwriting. The letters are jagged and shaky, some words randomly trailing off into lengthy lines of ink.

We will meet at the Inn of the Wayward Angel. You may have difficulty finding your way there, but I trust you will manage.

-Jonathan Gryphinn

With that, the one armed man leaves as quickly as he enters...

QM Note: The quest thread will go up in 24 hours!

Warlen stares at the Quest board.

"What? I thought I crossed out my name for that Quest!"

As the others state at him, he murmured "Stay here..."

As he caught up to the odd man, he said "Choose another Hero. I meant to remove my name."

With that, he returned to his friends.

Ooc: I remember typing my cancel, but I must not have posted. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Be careful where you swing that thing." He nodded towards the claw wedged into the grain of the wood he was studying. He reached over and pulled it out, and used a bit of wood magic to fix the damaged bar. He weighed the claw in his hands. "For such a fine weapon you do not seem to care much for it. Let someone take this trinket off of your hands." Hybros set a sack of 250 gold on the bar. "You would be wise to take it, mister...?"

Althior chuckles, "My apologies for knowing how to dive right in." He listens to the offer, "Though it seems like you're able to dive right in as well, be it in a different matter. Might as well open my own stand at the Marketplace." He removes the claw and slides it towards the imp across the table, taking the gold in return. "Must have a bit of backbone to make any use of that piece. You enjoy getting bloody knuckles?"

Skrall trudged into the bar, his clothes were muddy, his cloak soiled. The ogre didn't even glance at the quest board before ascending the stairs to the bar. He ordered a bowl of stew gave a slight nod of acknowledgement to Althior and Hybros before retiring to a quiet table.

~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#117 by Kintobor)!~

Ellaria returned to Heroica Hall after a full day of sweeping cobwebs and mopping mousedung from her house. She would have loved if there was someone to look after it while she was gone on quests, but she didn't have enough gold to hire anyone, and all her friends were in Heroica themselves. She wondered how they fared, her old companions... Lawrence, Alexis, Tesni, Atramor, Haldor, Hoke... Even Tarn, although she knew he had left the organization behind.

She then saw one such old companion sitting at a table up at the Saloon with Hybros and a couple of others. She decided to go up and greet Althior as soon as she had checked the Quest Board. Quickly signing her name under quests #116 and #117, she ascended the stairs.

"Althior, hey!" she greeted with a big smile. "It's been a long while. You look downright dreadful, if I may say."

Miderun walked back into the hall well-prepared for whatever the next quest might bring, She pulled up her usual seat to the bar, quiet contemplating what she'd be ordering when an ogre a couple tables away caught her eye. She blinked, scratching her head in thought for a moment before remembering something. She got off the barstool and approached the ogre openly.

"Tarok kon di, vahlcund. You don't happen to have any unpaid debts, right? I generally know better than to interrupt another orocund's drink, but I've got a friend who might be looking for you."

Skrall looked up from his stew. "I'm 'fraid it's been too long since I've been in the old country to remember the traditional greetin's, so you'll have to forgive me." At the mention of debts the ogre's hand slowly went to his crossbow strapped to his side. "This friend of yers, got a name? Or were ya lookin' at doin' a little collectin' of yer own?"

Posted

"Of course not. I'm not here for money. Not from you, not from this Heroica thing." Miderun's eyes lingered on Skrall's crossbow briefly, with caution, but no fear. "You're a hero, so I'm certain whatever you've been doing has been for a decent cause, but my friend seems pretty...convinced that she can and will bring you in. I don't doubt her ability, but you might be one of the most well-off ogres I've seen, so I'm hoping you could just pay your debts and nobody ends up getting hurt over this."

Skrall removed his hand from the crossbow and returned to his stew. "Ya seem pretty concerned for this friend. Thing is, I've been out on a good deal of questin' lately and haven't had a chance to pay off the leaches yet. Growin' tired of 'em honestly, thankfully only a few more months and the whole business will be at an end. Ya can tell yer friend to save their time and probably a couple of limbs. Suprisin' yer not here fer the gold though and yer right, I'm probably more well off than a good deal of my family was at any point. If yer not here for the spoils, what brings ya to the hall?"

"You sound like you have a plan for dealing with them, then." Miderun dragged a chair over and sat at one corner of Skrall's table. "Strange that you can get more or less whatever you need by asking now and paying later. It just seems like it's begging to end in bloodshed. Small wonder there's no market for it in Baltarok, I suppose. I'm here for the - I guess you could say the heroics. You hear about what's been going on in the homeland? All sorts of trouble, with this bridge, and the Kingdoms, some vikings, and now one of the clans is practically turning into a rogue state. There's heroes in the middle of it all somehow and I want to be part of that. They killed our greatest hero but now they're out putting an end to what could've been a full-scale war. They don't concern themselves with past grudges and they help those who need it. I wanted something more out of life. Here I am."

Hybros takes the claw and straps it onto his wrist, holding it as if he were about to strike. It would suit him well in his new style of hand-to-hand combat. "I am proficient with many blades, but long training and necessity have led me to learn other skills. I've learned to channel my strength through something other than the scythe I hold. And what is it that you practice, ehum..." The man has still not given his name, but just then Ellaria stepped up to the bar to greet him; supposedly they were old friends. "...Althior, is it? I am Hybros. How do you know this talented druid?" Hybros gave a nod and a small smile to Ellaria.

"Yep, sounds like Heroica alright, we have a tendency for gettin' involved in stuff that ain't all our business, but things tend to work out for the better. I heard somethin' about the goin'ons in Baltarok, didn't expect we'd be seein' anyone coming here from here from there though. If yer lookin' fer a place to make an impact on the world, well welcome to ya. Skrall, by the way." Skrall doffed his cap at the orc.
