Zepher Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 An easier way to defend yourself would be explaining what you did without the jab at the person who misunderstood things. I think it was a good RP moment when it happened. I think other people just didn't follow it as closely and are confused. Thank you for clarifying for them! Quote
CMP Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Technically, it is how the Shield works, but it doesn't make sense (in a purely strategic context) for someone to try and heal a KO'd player. RP-wise, though, it's probably best to ask players before you assume their actions will be affected by RP. I think it was a good RP moment when it happened. Waterbrick Down Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I don't know why you keep thinking I misunderstood how Blood Ritual works. That's never been the case. In previous battles, players have been KO'd, Blood Ritual /rolled yet KO'd players weren't revived. Precedent was made when a SHIELD mechanic was changed for RP purposes so I did the same in an easy battle at the end of the quest. It was intentional and not a big deal. As far as following the rules, I remember someone complaining once they found out that scrolls don't prevent free hits during the Dastan quest and wanting them to continue to prevent free hits for the rest of the battle... Thank you for the clarification, I had read through that specific battle at one point and noted that you had diverted the Blood Ritual to a KO'd player and had thought you had done this out of a misunderstanding and not for RP purposes, prior to that I hadn't paid attention to any specifc battles in which you had run when a Blood Ritual was rolled. Yes, I did set something of a precident with my last quest, however your decision to treat it as such looked like it had been made without prior discussion with the PC's of whom the RP decision affected. That said, I should have given you more credit then thinking you had made a misunderstanding so I am sorry for that. As to the scrolls issue, I cannot remember if we were doing it wrong and then we were straightened out, or if the topic came up of how overpowered the scrolls were and then the rule was changed. I get your point though and even though I QM, I tend to side with PC's. Anyways I'll let the topic rest, it's all been straightened out anyways and the rules are going to get a clarification. Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Also interesting to see what you and Masked whipped up as well. Yeah, that was Alexis' big Role-play moment. It really soldifies Alexis' separation from Althior, and tries to give her a direction to go in. I'm really quite proud of it. Quote

Yes, and I apologize for cutting it down a little, but I wanted to keep what Wren said as Wren-esque as possible. I hope it still seemed fitting, I don't think I changed ANY of the lines that you wrote for Alexis. Quote

Really interested on seeing how that turns out. And the remarks Atramor's going to make to Althior about it. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I am soooooooo signing up for the final Wren quest. Quote

Scorpiox Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Arthur's eye falls upon Roderick's sword, but he says nothing of it. OOC: I wouldn't mind that sword; Tensi already has a better one, Cronk doesn't seem the type to want it, and Arthur's the only other one in the party who can use it anyway. "Heroica will fall. Zoot will rise. It is a motto of Wren's from the past..." I had actually set the sword to Arthur, but then remembered that someone said that they didn't want anything special, so I changed it. But I'll switeroo things if you want me to. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 You can blame me for that. Amethysts are hard to come by, I had to make an offer... Hey I'll counteroffer if someone is interested in a Zoot's plaything. Quote
CMP Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Nope. I want it. No switcheroos. So Cronk won't drink Mead because he's a Paladin.....but he'll wield a sword used by an insane splinter of a god to slaughter to his allies? Fair enough. Quote
Flipz Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Nope. I want it. No switcheroos. Are we perhaps seeing a crack in Cronk's holiest-of-holies facade? Or does CorneliusMurdock just want an Amethyst after having to fight all those Holy enemies? Quote

Flipz Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) Who said Cronk was going to wield it? I'll be fine without the sword if I get the Splinter. To be honest, I think the Splinter was designed for Cronk. I was going to say something in-character, but then Cronk had to go and argue with Arthur. Edited September 27, 2012 by Flipz Quote

Cronk is a pretty relaxed guy but I think he may be close to giving up on Arthur. Some people can't be saved. So Cronk won't drink Mead because he's a Paladin.....but he'll wield a sword used by an insane splinter of a god to slaughter to his allies? Fair enough. Cronk won't drink mead or most consumables because of his past. It has nothing to do with being a paladin. Quote
Myrddyn Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Sorry Sandy, I will probably not have Internet access for 3 days or so. If someone in Quest #44 could control Erik if necessary, that would be appreciated. Quote

Zepher Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Sorry, I keep missing it...how does Poletad communicate with the non-animal talking NPCs again? Well... sometimes I cheat a little, and I let Skrall talk to him last time in broken Frog, because he had used it so much. Most everyone else without animal talk can't really communicate with him.
