The problem with Raiders is that they're completely based around themselves. For a team, they'd be better off with a Barbarian (stronger Shield), unless they force the Raider to supply everyone with consumables.

Well, I was going to go with De'kra or Hybros, as Assassins are excellent for this sort of thing (and for the Sword), but then I realized I already had an AoE special in the party, and the more people you have the more Free Hits the Fields will make you take.

...Actually, on that note, if Alexandre uses counterstrike gloves, he would be the single most potent Paladin available to the Fields. *oh2*

Hybros is Hastened, though. :sweet: And with Docken and Boomingham, 2 enemies can be essentially ignored.

I'm getting a headache just thinking about how to balance those enemies. :hmpf_bad:

A small mob of level 2 rats.

With SP-piercing fangs and specials that Poison.

Well, Arasmyth's not KO'ed, he's playing dead. Character knowledge dictates that Thorm might try to heal him, not knowing that Aras is actually dying and beyond saving. Afterall, the rest of the party got up, why didn't Aras? Plus, I think that it's a neat, if annoying, handicap for this fight. Thorm will have to dedicate a turn to healing, since his ritual will just default to Aras.

Felt it bears repeating. I support Jeb's choice on the matter.

I don't think either Maurice or Boomingham would exactly invite Cronk along. :sceptic:

No, Maurice has no quarrels with Cronk. Remember that he befriended Jensen the Night Guard who is an orc.

Boomingham on the other hand he might have a bit of a trouble with...

OK, then, new dream team:

Atramor, Docken, Alexandre, Hybros, Arthur, Erdathcath.

Atramor: already explained

Docken: duh.

Alexandre (once he has Counterstrike Gloves): Paladin advantages PLUS Free Hit reduction AND pierces SP

Hybros: Hastened Assassin, can work wonders with the Sword of Ancestral Hatred, awesome

Arthur: Rain of Status, pseudohealer

Erdathcath: Perma-Lucky Druid, self-explanatory.

Thormy, I really want to include you in this, but I don't know if your strategy would help us in the Fields. :cry_sad:

That's very close to the team I have laid out. You're literally one person off.

Oh, it definitely wouldn't. It's not a battle strategy, it's a gold strategy.

Another Perma-Lucky item. :sceptic: Bad.

Best party would be Docken, Atramor and Skrall, along with a dedicated healer, or a ton of consumables. Everyone else is dead weight, face it. While AoE is nice, it's not a neccesity by far, frankly it's overrated.

I agree, AoE isn't such a huge concern as long as you have heroes with high Defense.

I don't know if there's a place for her, but I'd also like to see Tesni in there. Plenty of offense and defense. And if you're going to have a Paladin and a lot of players with high Defense, you probably don't really need a Druid.

AoE's somewhat important in a large party. Effects can cripple an enemy, and a good enough tank render (most) of their attacks useless, but you need people who can effectively hack up opponents when necessary. That's where Assassins come in - raw damage isn't great, but consider how big of a mob of enemies there'll be against a 6 person party.

The problem with Berserkers is they're pretty much Immune to Strategy. Such high damage and defense is fantastic, but with a Shield that's useless after you roll it once, and the fact that you can attack one enemy at a time, it's tough to adapt to certain battle situations.

Beh, party of Quest 40 is doing just fine without AoE. You guys are too lucky, I'm clearly have to step it up a notch if I want to get you in trouble...

Perhaps, but the battle would be going a lot faster if Nyx was a normal mage. That's, what, 90+ damage to everyone on a Shield?

Exactly, Assassins are almost always better off fighting from the back row in a big party. Worry about assassinating and staying alive, not dealing damage. Leave that to the brutes.

Which is why I need that Cloak of the Red Assassin...

Don't tell me--it's me, isn't it. :cry_sad::tongue:

Yeah, plus AoE helps keep battles from being a slogfest. Kind of useless in a boss fight? Perhaps. But in a fight with a ton of enemies, having a person or two capable of AoE can really help speed things up, keep the pace moving.

Yeah, that's one thing I run into a lot when strategizing for Tensi. "OK, do I set her against the strong enemy with the nasty Special since we'll all have to deal with it eventually, or do I put her against the fella who's weak to her and not have her available if we manage to Seal/Poison/Blind/Curse/Whatever the scary one?" Great class, a pain for strategists--through its mere simplicity.

Also, Doc, the Druid is there for if WHEN you get Badly Poisoned. And Cursed. At the same time. :tongue:You're welcome, Sandy. :P

Don't punish us for being smart!! It's costing me a lot of gold to do well in these battles!!

I forgot Alexandre was also a Paladin! There's so many of us. But yeah, the four paladins should go into the fields together!! That would be perfect. If one of us drank a nostrum each battle, we'd have five chances a round to get a Guardian Angel.

I can see it now...

Round One

Cronk - Guardian Angel

Alexandre - Guardian Angel

Boomingham - Guardian Angel

Maurice - Guardian Angel

The Paladins wave their shields around. The enemies glare.

Round Two

Cronk - Guardian Angel

Alexandre - Guardian Angel

Boomingham - Guardian Angel

Maurice - Guardian Angel

The Paladins wave their shields around. The enemies seethe.

Round Three

Cronk - Guardian Angel

Alexandre - Guardian Angel

Boomingham - Guardian Angel

Maurice - Guardian Angel

The Paladins wave their shields around. The enemies hiss.

I'm not sure if you insulted yourself or my roleplaying.:grin:

We'd be unbeatable! Also, I should upgrade my sword. WP: 8 just won't cut it.

Callmepie, I should go first in battle order. I halve the freehits and will get the counter strike gloves.
