Hey, would an evoker be able to send me pointers if I PMed them pictures of the brickbuilt beasts I'm making? I like how they look now, but i'd like a second opinion and maybe a few pointers.

Well, I just finished up a long session of catching up with the Dastan quests, which I've been too busy to catch up with for the past month or so. I've got to say, you guys have done an absolutly impeccible job. The thought that has evidently gone into this is astounding. Congrats, everyone!

Just as another teaser, here's the name of most the enemies you'll fight in Quest 36!

Scientific names, that is!

-Neogg Scorpfant

-Staceo Chilopion

-Scorpulusk Neradult

-Commonacio Scorpulusk

-Vilicus Crustapier

-Cavalierium Impalord

-Eggmayk Scorpulusk

-Crugenocide Gargalusk

Each name's root words do actually have a bearing on what the actually beast is like - you'll be able to gleam a tiny amount of knowledge if you can figure 'em out.

DnD Spelljammer much?

(or were you not referring to the Neogi?)

~Insectoid Aristocrat

I don't what you mean by the first one, and dear god that picture is nightmare fuel in image form. *oh2*

I'm afraid that's not quite right, though...

Yeah I'd figured as much Sandy, let's finish her!

Oh, drat! I could have sworn that's what you were referencing. The spoiler's not necessary anymore I guess.

DnD is, of course, Dungeons and Dragons, and Spelljamer is a campaign setting that was introduced in the second edition which revolved around fantasy space travel. Ultimately it came off as goofy at best, but it did introduce one of my favorite DnD villainous races: the Neogi. In the source material they are interstellar slavers, in control of the Umber Hulk race. They pilot ships that are styled off of spiders. Img1, Img2, Img3. One of the reasons I admire them so much as an 'alien' species is their creative yet believable life cycle. The Neogi are all single sexed and their society is based on slavery. Every one is either a master or a slave, and frequently both. When a master gets old, its neogi slaves inject it with a secretion. The old Neogi swells to a massive size and fills with eggs, its intelligence, falling to the level of the vermin it resembles in our eyes. After a certain amount of time, the eggs hatch inside the Neogi "grand master" and burst from its abdomen, killing it. The hatchlings then cannibalize on each other until the strongest and smartest are left. They are then slaves to the community until they have aquired their first umber hulk slave. It's delightfully vicious  . The Neogi compare well with the similarly alien Illithids or Mind Flayers who had their own special niche in the campaign. While the Neogi were busy slaving, the Illithids have their own goals of true world (and space and time) domination. Don't even ask about their life cycle.

4 guesses for Endgames scientific names:

-Neo(n) (e)gg Scorp(ion) (ele)fant - neon egg scorpion elephant?

*

-Scorpulusk Ne(a)r adult - something near adult?

*

*

-Cavalierium Impalord - cavalier something-lord?

*

*

-Cru genocide Gargalusk - something genocide something?

And while I'm at it, if we go back to page 587, post #8794, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58807&st=8790

Syntax's true true colors haven't even been revealed yet, only hinted slightly in one line. I doubt anyone picked up on it.

Green!

Ooh, not bad at all Myrrdn!

-I'm afraid there are no elephants, but the egg part and scorpion parts are right for the first one. Neon is close, but not quite.

-Near adult is correct, but you don't know what scorpulusk symbolizes.

-Cavalier is spot on, but he has to be lord of something!

-Last one is the hardest - genocide is correct, but that's only a small peice of the puzzle.

There are a few recurring prefixes/suffixes that will make your job a whole lot easier if you figure out what they're symbolizing. give the others a try and it may become a bit clearer.

Also, Myrrdn, you take things too literally.

That's a shame....if she was Humanoid/Beast, Benji would murder her with his crossbow.

Well, she is just that. I just forgot to edit the type when she transformed.

I thought so. That's why I put them in so many spoilers. Thanks, that was fun.

In quest 33, should the free hit not be done against Benji, since he was first in the battle order? :look:

Good catch, once again! This is exactly why I don't want too many things to remember into battles.

May have taken lots of items, but I think they've got it in the bag now. :sweet: On another note, that was one of the most twisted special skills ever. Would the artifacts have been permanently lost if they failed the battle? :look:

That'd probably be the curelest thing in the histroy of Heroica. :devil_laugh:

And I would laugh because I wouldn't lose anything at this rate. :snicker:

More Werewolf Lashes for you then.

Werewolf lashes confused me for a minute- I thought it was 15 damage to everyone, not 15 damage distributed.

Speaking of which, how is the damage on Werewolf lash divided?

It is 15 to everyone. But it includes SP and Rows.

Oh, that makes much more sense.

Also, how would you guys handle a puzzle where you have to draw something? Nothing fancy, just a symbol - I'm not going to ask you to recreate the Mona Lisa!
