Brickdoctor Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Oooh, the potential of even more new lewtz. I'm intrigued! These sure are a patient bunch of wookPongcanae, it's a shame we're going to have to kill them (eventually)! They're waiting for JediAnakin to be ready.Pongcanae call themselves honorable warriors, remember? Quote
Sandy Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 If you look in between the pillar of the sea goddess and the big shark, you can just about see yet another familiar character lurking behind there. The other picture reveals it better. Here's just an idea for the Barbarian job trait: what if they regained half of the health the were missing? For example, a Barbarian's health after a battle is 8/12. They're missing four health, so they would regain half of that and their health would be restored to 10/12. IMO this would be a fair compromise since Barbarians would be nearly indestructible if they gained full health after each battle. Argh, more maths! At first I was thinking the Barbarians could rest without a bedroll, but that would only mean they got 5 more gold than anyone else which didn't seem fair. But the idea of the ability is related the Barbarians' ability to rest just about anywhere. How about if Barbarians recover health equal to their level after every battle? Would it be too hard to remember for hosts? Quote
swils Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 They're waiting for JediAnakin to be ready. Pongcanae call themselves honorable warriors, remember? Yes, yes. I know who they're waiting on. Honorable, patient, all I hear is "soon to be dead" At first I was thinking the Barbarians could rest without a bedroll, but that would only mean they got 5 more gold than anyone else which didn't seem fair. But the idea of the ability is related the Barbarians' ability to rest just about anywhere. How about if Barbarians recover health equal to their level after every battle? Would it be too hard to remember for hosts? Health equal to level sounds reasonable to me. Might be difficult to remember at first, but I imagine it's one those things that'll just ingrain itself as time goes on. Quote

Tanma Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 They're waiting for JediAnakin to be ready. Pongcanae call themselves honorable warriors, remember? Is that an intentional reference to Wookiees? Either way I am not surprised thar will will have many battles, we already have had four and we are no where close to solving the puzzle. We know theHinckwell are involved, but we don't have proof and we haven't even encountered the lion knights. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Should I be concerned that a dark blade accepted me or use it an interesting new path to take my character down? Quote
Sisco Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Should I be concerned that a dark blade accepted me or use it an interesting new path to take my character down? I gave it as an opportunity for characterization. Use it however you please. Quote
Sandy Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Alright, the Barbarian's Job Trait is updated according to the feedback. They still don't need bedrolls to rest, though. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Since Bedrolls just allow you to regain Health, I don't think Barbarians should need them anyways, even with this new trait. "So, magic. What is it? A gift or a curse from gods? A talent that only few possess? Or a force of nature that resides in all of us. Opinions vary greatly, but the truth remains undiscovered. Don't you know? Magic is an energy field that surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds us. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Like I said, they don't. Yep, that's basically what I meant. I was agreeing with you. Should've quoted you. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Alright so I understand that if we use an item in battle, we cannot be attacked, but does this mean the "any untargetted enemy will get a free attack" rule does not apply, or just that using an item is a garunteed sucess and there is no chance of taking damage or special damage from a specific enemy. i.e. Which Scenerio is correct? Hero A vs. Enemy B: 1st round Hero A uses tonic. Hero A is sucessful and restores such and such ether to himself. 2nd round Hero A attacks Enemy B from front row. etc. etc. etc. OR Hero A vs. Enemy B: 1st round Hero A uses tonic. Hero A is sucessful and restores such and such ether to himself. Enemy B was untargetted and thus does such and such damage to Hero A. 2nd Round Hero A attacks Enemy B from the front row. etc. etc. etc. Quote

You can get hit by an enemy's Free Hit even if you use an item, but you will still use the item with 100% certainty, since any possible Free Hits will be dealt after every party member has acted. So, in your examples, scenario #2 is correct. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I do agree that fully regenerating health after each fight might be overpowered for a Barbarian, but I would have been happy to at least test the theory in this quest first :P Quote
Sandy Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Brickdoctor, I have to correct something you said in your quest: For Mages, in order of power, Elemental Attack against weak enemies from either row - double Damage Elemental Attack against indifferent enemies from either row - normal Damage Normal Attack from Front Row - normal Damage Normal Attack from Back Row - halved Damage Elemental Attack against strong enemies from either row - halved Damage The other statements are correct except the last one. There are no elemental strengths in this game, only weaknesses and immunities. So a spell can either be especially effective against an enemy, in which case it deals double damage - or quadruple if an enemy has two types that are weak to the same element -, cause normal damage, or have no effect at all. Rumble Strike Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I have to admit, I am intrigued to see how Quest#6 plays out with Nur's decision! Great stuff to go against the grain, be interesting to see what happens. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Sorry for confusing you Capt.JohnPaul, I haven't updated my signature since the pirates. I've been pressed for time and figured you would use your own updated version of my stats anyway. I'll fix that now. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 From QUEST #8 'Dear shopkeeper this isn't going entirely fair for all of us I think. But that's bargaining...' Hahaha I'm sure your quest will provide you with many encounters to gain lots of levels and recover lost gold. Quote
